Great hotel & staff!! It is a 50's style resort but could use some touch ups in the paint department & beds could be replaced (they weren't horrible by any means but definitely old). Overall we had a great time staying here for a week! Food court was great, Galaxy Bowl had a pool table so we were set! Lazy River & Pool area was a nice relaxing spot after a day in the heat at the Parks & spent a ton in the Arcade so make sure to bring xtra $$ for that😉

Had a wonderful stay at Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort! The large family suite was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for our family. The service throughout the resort was very friendly and welcoming, and we loved having so many food options available without needing to leave the property. One thing that really stood out was the recreation center team — when it suddenly started raining, they quickly organized a fun pop-up activity indoors so families could still enjoy themselves. That extra effort made us feel genuinely accommodated and taken care of. It turned a rainy moment into a really positive memory for our kids. Overall, a fun, family-friendly resort with great energy and thoughtful staff. We’d definitely stay again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Let me start off by talking about the simple part: location. Location is very good. You can take a boat taxi, shuttle bus or walk 10-15 mins to and from universal and universal city walk. Rooms: rooms are so out dated. Bed was so soft with an old mattress. Bathroom was the size of a cubicle with an old dirty shower with no room to turn around in. Amenities: yes there’s a lot to do there. The quality of these is NOT there. The pool was so crowded. It had dirty sand every where. The dining area closed way too early. Service: the only experience I encountered was the check in service. The line for check in was absolutely crazy. There was about 6 employees for check in. I did online check in. The line was shorter but still waited about 40 mins to reach the desk. The girl at the front explained our room wasn’t ready and we would receive a text but we could walk around the hotel. She also never explained the extra additional charges that went on my card. Parking is 26$/day. Don’t pay it. It’s a scam. That gate for the garage was open the whole time we were there. So you’re telling me people were parking for free while I paid 26/day to park my car for a garage I could easily enter and leave without paying for. The crowd of people here is disgusting from all angles. I felt like I was staying at a holiday inn with some extra amenities thrown into it. There was food in the elevators and trash in our hallway. We could hear the people right next to us all night. Paper thin walls. We walked to sapphire falls to take the water taxi both nights and WOW what a difference in class. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. This resort is over priced.

I recently stayed at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort and unfortunately my experience was pretty average overall. The one bright spot during my stay was the customer service. Every team member I interacted with was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. They did their best to address concerns, and I appreciate their efforts. That said, I would only recommend this hotel if you’re specifically looking for a budget-friendly option near the parks. The retro decor wasn’t really a selling point for me. Rather than feeling trendy or nostalgic, much of it came across as an inexpensive way to decorate a large resort. The property also seemed to be in need of significant maintenance. The hallway carpets were consistently dirty throughout my stay, which gave the hotel a worn-down appearance. On two separate days, our room wasn’t stocked with towels, which was frustrating after long days in the parks. Another issue was the laundry facilities. The one time I used them, the cold water setting was actually dispensing hot water, making it difficult to wash clothes properly. One stand out feature was the shuttle service to the parks. Extremely easy to use running about every 10-15 minutes. While the location and customer service are positives, the cleanliness, maintenance issues, and lack of attention to basic amenities made this stay disappointing. There are better options available unless your main priority is keeping costs down.

We spent a week here and got a good feel for the place. The room was neat, the decor at the entire resort was neat. The food is mediocre at best and the staff that we encountered were less than friendly. The dining area and food area as well as the pool/lazy river could use a good cleaning. We utilized the bowling alley and again that was neat, definitely needs some maintenance done though and it also could use a cleaning. We encountered more unfriendly staff there. A couple things I feel should be published is that yes, while there is a lazy river, no where did I read that you have to purchase tubes to use to actually "be lazy". Also, if you forget something and require an Amazon or other delivery, you are required to pay the bell desk in order to pick up your item. We also struggled with get this resort to show up on our Universal app even though we purchased the stay through Universal.. well it's not actually a Universal resort, it's owned by Lowes Corporation and therefore does not link with anything Universal. Would we stay again? Probably, as we enjoyed the retro vibe and it was on the more affordable side but honestly, we aren't in a hurry to stay again.
