My husband and I booked a short stay for our anniversary. We had a great time! Room was spacious, clean, very comfortable. The pools were amazing! Food offering was nice, for an extra charge of course but you get to choose from pizza, pasta, burgers, shakes…you name it, it may all be available. The shuttle to the parks are a huge plus, available every 15 minutes, but to be honest we didn’t have to wait on our way to the parks or back! The drinks at the pool bars were on point! A big shout out to DJ and Alfresco that had our drinks at the ready! We will definitely return! 💯% recommended!

A first family trip to Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort is another vacation in the memory books. The rooms were spacious for our personal needs with a kitchette. The pool area was always clean and refreshing with ample space for seating although it did get busy late morning to mid-afternoon. The cafe had several options but can get busy. The atmosphere was incredible and service was excellent. You can bus or walk to CityWalk, Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure but quick tip: walk over to Sapphire Falls and take the boat. We would stay here again without hesitation. 5 stars earned. Enjoy!

This was the best place we have ever stayed. The atmosphere is great with a cool retro theme and there is SO much to do without leaving the resort - restaurants, arcade room, bowling, fire pits, shopping at the Universal store, swimming with two pools (LOVED the lazy river, hot tub and beach area at Hidden pool). We had pizza delivered to our room one night when we were exhausted which was convenient. It was neat eating breakfast at the Bayliner Diner every morning with a beautiful view of the palm trees and Volcano Bay. We felt like we were somewhere tropical. Volcano Bay lights up beautifully with different colors at night. Transportation to the parks and City Walk was easy with frequent buses. We also took the nice walking path across the street to the Sapphire Falls resort to board the boats to City Walk, which was a short and relaxing ride. We utilized the Universal Super Star Shuttle which took us to our resort from the airport and back, highly recommend. Overall, an amazing vacation and perfect get away resort.

I recently stayed at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort and unfortunately my experience was pretty average overall. The one bright spot during my stay was the customer service. Every team member I interacted with was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. They did their best to address concerns, and I appreciate their efforts. That said, I would only recommend this hotel if you’re specifically looking for a budget-friendly option near the parks. The retro decor wasn’t really a selling point for me. Rather than feeling trendy or nostalgic, much of it came across as an inexpensive way to decorate a large resort. The property also seemed to be in need of significant maintenance. The hallway carpets were consistently dirty throughout my stay, which gave the hotel a worn-down appearance. On two separate days, our room wasn’t stocked with towels, which was frustrating after long days in the parks. Another issue was the laundry facilities. The one time I used them, the cold water setting was actually dispensing hot water, making it difficult to wash clothes properly. One stand out feature was the shuttle service to the parks. Extremely easy to use running about every 10-15 minutes. While the location and customer service are positives, the cleanliness, maintenance issues, and lack of attention to basic amenities made this stay disappointing. There are better options available unless your main priority is keeping costs down.

The stay was amazing. We loved every part of it. You could tell the rooms were a little dated but it looks like they are really working on upgrading everything. The front desk agent Andrew who checked us in was just a pleasure to be around. He helped make this birthday trip memorable. He said happy birthday and gave me a birthday pin and then upgraded us to a suite still with the pool view and non-connecting room we requested. I completely understand rooms sell out a lot but he did what he could to make it great and for that I really appreciated the experience. Housekeeping was always on top of cleaning the room daily and refreshing towels. I love that for the most part they also respect the DND sign on the door. We had a rest day where we slept in all day and not once did we hear a loud knock on the door. Would definitely stay again and would love to have more time to explore more of the stuff offered there like the bowling alley and the lazy river!
