My husband and I stayed at The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui for our honeymoon, with high expectations given the Ritz brand and our consistently pleasant experiences at other Marriott properties, including W Bangkok. From pick-up at Nathon Pier through check-in, the service was seamless and attentive. We were accommodated in a room with a partial ocean view, and we appreciated the effort to acknowledge our honeymoon with welcome amenities. That said, while we were grateful for the gesture, the amenities themselves felt rather generic. Having stayed at other resorts where touches felt more personal and thoughtfully curated, this one gave the impression of being standard for all guests, regardless of occasion. The resort grounds are expansive, and possibly due to the hotel operating at a high occupancy level during our stay, buggy service occasionally took longer than expected, something worth noting given the size of the property. We also experienced an issue with water pressure in our room, which was addressed promptly by the team. However, the initial water flow had a sandy, rust-colored appearance after the issue was resolved. While these issues were addressed and did not significantly detract from our stay, our expectation was that such lapses would not occur at this level of brand and pricing. The rate during our stay was notably higher than usual, likely due to peak season. Given our overall experience, we felt the pricing was not exactly relative to the service and experience delivered. That said, we still very much enjoyed our honeymoon stay and look forward to experiencing other Ritz-Carlton properties in the future.

The Ritz Carlton in Samui was unfortunately a huge disappointment that did not feel luxurious in any way. We were supposed to stay for 7 nights, but ended up moving hotels after 1 night. The main disappointments were the beach, pool and restaurants which is where we would be spending most of our time as we were travelling with a baby. The common areas generally felt quite worn down and a little tacky. Nothing like what you would expect from a 5 star hotel, and absolutely nothing like what you would expect from the Ritz. We had lunch at the beach restaurant and ordered room service for dinner. Both food experiences were quite poor. We had already spent 1 week in Samui and this was the worst food experiences so far on our trip. The breakfast was better and had a huge selection, but the quality of the produce was not the best. The gym was s positive surprise, beautiful location and a good variety of equipment. Our room was spacious, clean and nice, but quite noisy as you could hear guests in the hallway and other rooms. The terrace was quite disappointing as well. Unfortunately, this was a very poor representation of the Ritz brand and felt more like a massive 4 star Las Vegas type resort. Overall the hotel and it's service level is lacking attention to detail.

Stayed at The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui for 4 nights with my wife during our vacation, and overall it was a wonderful experience. As expected from a well-established luxury brand, the level of service throughout the stay was exceptional. Before our arrival, the hotel contacted us by email to confirm our arrival and departure times, which allowed them to arrange both early check-in and late check-out for us. Considering how large the resort is, the buggy service was also very well managed and made getting around convenient and comfortable. We stayed in a standard room category, the Junior Suite, and were extremely satisfied with it. The room was spacious, thoughtfully designed, and equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The comfort level throughout the trip was consistently high. What stood out the most was the staff. Every team member greeted us warmly with genuine smiles, and their kindness could be felt in every interaction. The hospitality felt natural and sincere rather than overly formal, which made the experience even more memorable. Breakfast was probably the only area that felt slightly lacking. The quality itself was still very high compared to most resorts, and the variety was enough to enjoy for the first couple of days. However, during a longer stay, the menu started to feel repetitive. It might be nice if they introduced a few more special or rotating menu items on weekends. Also, the breakfast area is not air-conditioned, so it can feel a bit warm during the morning. One afternoon, we spent time by the ocean, and the atmosphere was incredibly peaceful and relaxing. At one point, I even found myself thinking that I would love to come back someday with our future child. Next time, we would probably try staying in one of the pool villas. There was also a small issue during our stay when the hot water heater stopped working and the Wi-Fi connection became unstable. We mentioned it to the staff as a minor complaint, and later the manager sent us an apology letter written in Korean. Honestly, that thoughtful gesture meant more to us than simply fixing the problem. That kind of human touch, especially in another language, left a much stronger impression than just receiving perfect facilities without emotion. A sincere thank you to the entire Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui team for making our stay so memorable.

Not the Ritz-Carlton experience we were expecting. Unfortunately, there were no pool villas available so I believed we booked the Select Terrace King Suite. The room was great and big (with minor improvements needed) but it was located on top of the hill, pretty far from everything. The pool area is beautiful, but not the kind of place where you can relax. Although I like seeing kids having fun and we knew that its not an adults only resort, this was on a different level. The screaming, and the splashing was not it.. and wouldn’t even care much if at least, could swim in the ocean. Ofc the staff cannot say anything, but its just a thing to take into consideration if you are a couple. On top of that, its the first time we booked a beach hotel and was not able to swim in the ocean because of the oil coming from the boats. Couldn’t even walk the beach because the sand had oil and we ended up with black feet and flip flops. The breakfast was mid, was expecting more. The vibe wasn’t really representative for the Ritz-Carlton. Also, I don’t recommend the beach restaurant, the food was bad… On a positive note, the night market had delicious food. The staff is always friendly and kind❤️. We also had a very nice Afternoon tea. Overall, if you book a pool villa you might get a different experience. If you need to use the main pool, I would reconsider 🙏🏻

By far the best Hotel in Samui The room design and space is exceptional with views to die for. The service by Ping at breakfast was second to none. Took care of all our needs with personal service, serving us items off the menu - like fresh masala dosage from the Indian Chef and karak chai. Couldn't ask for more. Plus the manager Tee went above and beyond to look after us and make our stay special. She understood our needs and took care of everything required. Ping and Tee where superb but in general the hotel staff are so polite and want to exceed tour expectations. The location of the hotel is excellent and close to the town and fisherman's village.
