We had a mixed experience with our stay at Silavadee. First of all, nobody informed us that the construction work would take significantly longer than what was communicated when we booked. By the time we realized it from updates on their website, our travel plans were already set and couldn’t be changed. Based on the visible progress onsite, it’s hard to believe the hotel didn’t know well in advance that the work wouldn’t be completed before Christmas. This felt dishonest and not direct. We stayed in a Jacuzzi room with view. The room was spacious, and the view was genuinely beautiful. Unfortunately, the overall resort experience felt mediocre and not at the level of other 5-star resorts we’ve stayed at in Koh Samui. With the second pool closed, the main pool was very crowded, and service there was basically absent. No one came around to take drink orders or proactively set up towels. The pool bar was closed, and staff were rarely visible. Breakfast was fine, but nothing special, and only having indoor seating was disappointing. The beach was also one of the less appealing ones on the island. On the positive side, housekeeping was excellent, very friendly, and consistently great. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. For this price, there are definitely better options in Koh Samui.

Great experience if you want to ball out for a bit. We got a sea view room with the balcony tub and thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and we loved the honeymoon welcome package they offered. Golfcarts are readily available to scoot you around the property. They provided a little happy hour with basic drinks and a couple tasty appetizers to make up for the construction going on. It was a little noisy during our massages, but that was the only time the construction impacted us.

We stayed here expecting a five-star experience, but unfortunately it felt closer to a three to four-star hotel overall. The hotel is extremely child-friendly, so if you are looking for a peaceful or relaxing stay, I would not recommend it. During our stay we had crying children on both sides of our room, and the main pool area was very busy with kids playing. The pool itself is quite small, with limited seating, roughly around 20 loungers, which made it feel crowded. That said, our jacuzzi room was beautiful and a real highlight. The room was spacious, well designed, with plenty of storage, a very comfortable bed, and a lovely ocean view. We couldn’t fault the room itself. We also had high hopes for the private beach, but on arrival it was covered in trash, seaweed, and fallen branches, and looked like it hadn’t been maintained for some time, which was very disappointing. The food was okay, but far from what you would expect from a five-star hotel. While we were aware of the construction works before arriving, the amount and visibility of it still took away from the relaxing atmosphere we were hoping for. The staff were genuinely lovely and attentive, though some appeared quite inexperienced and we often had to look for someone to order food or drinks. I’m sure this will improve with more training. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless you are travelling with family or small children. Unfortunately, it didn’t deliver the calm, luxury experience we were hoping for.

This hotell is a blessing. From starting the day with an iced caramel latte and eggs benedict for breakfast, to calm and playfull days at the villa pool, to enjoying exceptional thai cuisine and the sunset at the Star restaurant. The staff was exceptionally friendly and professional, from the reception to the pool cleaner. Id like to give a special shoutout to the hotel manager Tristan, who in the middle of hosting their new years party, secured a crib for us as our toddler made the surprise move of falling asleep at the dinner. We hope to be back, soon. In the meantime, we bought a set of the hotel robes to use whenever we have a spa day at home. They even had them in a size that worked on our toddler, fantastic! Lovely place to stay as a couple. Even though some areas of the hotel were under construction, we barely noticed it. The service from the staff was exceptional from beginning to end. Our room and its stunning views were absolutely worth the price. We explored the island with a local guide, so the hotel’s location was never an issue for us. Breakfast was delicious and impressive the noodles, the duck, the eggs, and the salmon were all incredibly fresh and high-quality. The pool and the beach area were perfect for relaxing, and the staff there were just as attentive and friendly. To move around the resort you need to use a buggy, which actually makes things easier. You can request one from phones available throughout the property, and they arrive quickly.
