Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price We are currently staying at Namaka Resort, Kamala, and unfortunately our experience so far has been very disappointing, especially considering we are paying ~AUD 350 per night and travelling with an infant and a young child. Day 1: Despite clearly informing the hotel in advance that we were travelling with an infant and a child, we were allocated the last room in the farthest building of the resort. The room required four flights of stairs to access, which is extremely inconvenient and unsafe with kids and luggage. To make matters worse, the room was infested with large flying insects. Photos and videos were taken as evidence. This clearly points to poor hygiene and pest control. Day 2: We were moved to another room, just one level lower, but unfortunately this room also had bugs. Overall, cleanliness appears to be a serious issue at this resort. Service & Hospitality: The front desk service has been very poor and unhelpful throughout our stay so far. • We requested fresh towels in the morning for showers, and it took almost 2 hours for them to arrive. • We asked for dishwashing soap or simple assistance to wash our baby’s bottle (even requesting help from the restaurant), and the response was a blunt “we do not do that.” This is extremely disappointing for a so-called family-friendly resort. Safety Concerns: The pool has ungrouted tiles, which is a serious safety hazard and can easily cause cuts or injuries, especially for children. We still have another 5 nights remaining, and based on the experience so far, it has not lived up to the standards or pricing of this resort. We will be sharing our full and honest feedback with future travellers to help them make an informed decision before booking. At this price point, we expected much better cleanliness, service, safety, and basic hospitality

Everything was amazing! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they really made sure our stay was memorable. A big thank you to Afan and the entire team for the wonderful hospitality. We were genuinely impressed with everyone from the gardener to all the team members who took such good care of us. We’ll definitely come back in the future and recommend this hotel to our friends and family!

The hotel and its facilities are closer to a 2-star standard. However, the service is very good and the staff are friendly, professional, and clearly doing their best. The hotel has serious humidity issues, with a persistent smell in the rooms that even affects the bed. The paint is peeling, and the materials used are of poor quality and heavily worn. We stayed in a sea-view room, which does offer a very nice view. Housekeeping is below standard, and the gym is basic and, more importantly, not clean. It’s a shame for the staff, who are clearly doing their best despite the condition of the hotel. Photos attached for transparency.

We were truly impressed by the value this hotel offers. It’s rare to find such high quality and comprehensive amenities at this price point, making it an easy recommendation for any traveler. From the moment we arrived, they offered us welcome drink that we ordered on repeat😅🤣they were so kind, the modern and clean design of the property stood out. The aesthetic is contemporary yet warm, providing a very relaxing atmosphere. We especially appreciated the commitment to sustainability; the subtle, thoughtful details show a genuine nature-friendly focus, which made the stay feel conscientious and refreshing. The dining experience was a major highlight. The buffet was superb, offering a wide variety of freshly prepared, high-quality dishes for every meal. Everything was incredibly clean, and the food itself was delicious—a real step up from typical hotel fare. Finally, the service was impeccable. Every staff member we encountered was attentive, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about our comfort. Whether we needed assistance in the lobby or a quick refill at the restaurant, the team handled every request promptly and with a smile. If you are looking for a clean, modern, and great-value stay that doesn't compromise on food quality or service, you won't be disappointed here!

Friendly staff and beautiful views but the hotel and facilities are in need of a good update. The aircon in our room was so old and loud that we couldn’t sleep at night. The pool slide is cracked and the tiles and concrete are literally falling apart. I have to say even though it’s is oldish it is very clean though. The breakfast buffet offers a wide range of options but food is of rather average quality. The free shuttles are very helpful as you can’t really walk anywhere especially with children as the road is up and down hill and there’s quite of bit of traffic and little to no lighting at night. The taxi drivers will charge you a minimum of thb200 for a 3-5min drive which is quite ridiculous. There are some good local restaurants at Kamala beach which is a short drive away and very affordable massages. Overall a good stay but in my opinion a tad overpriced for what you get.
