We had a wonderful family vacation at Orange Lake in Orlando. The resort is incredibly well-equipped with everything you need on-site, including multiple pools, fantastic activities, and great dining options. While the villas are a bit older, they have been tastefully remodeled and offer a very comfortable stay. Because the property is so expansive, it never feels overcrowded. Plus, the location is unbeatable—only about 15 minutes away from the Disney parks. We would absolutely stay here again!

It’s a nice property and has some great amenities, but it was eclipsed by our dreadful check-in experience. We were caught in traffic for three hours, while our ill/elderly in-laws arrived on time They were both registered on the reservation and attempted to check in, but were refused entry. The only advice given at the front desk was for our in-laws to remain in the car and wait 3 hours after their lengthy journey until I personally arrived. I contacted the resort and tried to provide my payment details over the phone, but they declined to accept them. I requested a secure payment link or a credit card authorization form, and they informed me that such options were not available. I contacted the corporate IHG office, which confirmed that there was no problem with processing the payment remotely and permitting my in-laws access to the unit. I am aware of this because I have successfully done it multiple times. We were then redirected back to the hotel/property to complete the transaction, where they essentially disregarded IHG's policies. Subsequently, we were connected to a member of the management team who was exceedingly rude, stated that there was nothing they could do, and then hung up on us. IHG corporate later reached out to follow up on the situation, and mentioned that they would initiate a case to investigate the issue, which, at that point, we found irrelevant. They assured us that the hotel would at least offer priority and expedited check-in upon our arrival. Unfortunately, that did not occur. We were then instructed to go to another desk to 'activate' our keys, which they were unable to do. I informed the staff member that I had no interest in tickets, timeshare tours, or similar offers. Our sole desire was to get everyone settled into the unit after hours of travel. Despite this, they persisted in pressuring us to purchase additional items, while they tried to activate our keys - which for some odd reason seemed to be a significant challenge. Once we finally navigated the arduous check-in process, we arrived at our unit. It was impeccably clean, well-stocked, and situated in a beautiful part of the property. The wifi was pretty terrible so we ended up using our phone hotspots. The lazy river, pools, and other facilities are all very clean and well-maintained. The restaurants were as expected - just OK. Unfortunately we had one waiter dump soda on one of the members of our party by accident, then a totally separate waiter drop our son’s cheeseburger on him. Anyway, overall the place is nice, but it’s not great. I have been at other properties in the Orlando area that far surpass this one.

We had a 2 br villa in the high rise at river island and it was spectacular! Great to be right in river island with the lazy river and heated pools right there. Its also right by the fun zone and we used the playground inside that was not an extra charge. Loves all the pool bars, and options to eat and for ice cream right in river island! The room was beautiful, clean and updated. The staff were all very friendly and quick when we needed accommodations. Its right by a Publix and right across the street from lots of restaurants. Highly recommend! (we traveled with a 1 and 3 y/o and it all worked out great!)

Hotel is beautiful and staff is very nice, but all of thr amenities cost money and nothing is included. They offer a 1.5 hour golf cart tour for free of the whole resort. And if you choose to do it, they give you discounts in the amenities and a "gift". Well.... the golf cart tour is a full on 4 hour sales pitch for their timeshare. You can tell them over and over and over again No, you are not interested. But they will keep pushing it. Each person who works at/for the hotel seems to be a sales person. The gift is not worth it.

My wife and I stayed one night at Holiday Inn Club Vacations Orange Lake Resort while visiting a family member who owns three units at the property and had encouraged us to consider ownership. Unfortunately, our experience ensured we would never purchase here. The room had a strong mildew odor, and when my wife checked the bed, she found a live bed bug crawling on the sheets. Guest Services initially attempted to move us to another room on the same floor and advised that moving to a different building would require an upgrade fee. After escalating the issue, we were eventually relocated. The handling of the situation was frustrating. We were stopped by staff, questioned by security, asked to complete paperwork for bug bites we never reported, and then left waiting with little communication for an extended period. We were told someone would contact us regarding the investigation, but we never received a call. Our second room was not much better. We found insects, spider webs hanging from the ceiling, and overall poor cleanliness. To top it off, the hair dryer detached from the wall when I tried to use it the next morning. The front desk staff was friendly, but the condition of the resort and the way this situation was handled fell far below expectations for an IHG property. After less than 24 hours, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we've had. Guests and owners deserve better.
