I normally don’t write reviews but I had to write this one. Absolutely phenomenal place to stay. The first time I walked in the lobby with my family after a long flight I knew this was the perfect place for us. The view of the lobby and the courtyard was absolutely breathtaking and beautiful at the same time. The staff is so courageous and professional from start to finish. There is so much to do there and the views are absolutely amazing. The place is absolutely spotless and so so clean. If you like to golf and relax this place is for you. The Marriott Grand Vista is my favorite place to stay when coming down to Orlando. We have been here over 25 times and nothing compares to staying there. This will be my new location to stay when visiting Orlando. Thank you to all the staff at The Marriott Grand Vista for all your dedication and hard work. Be *thoughful* before booking this hotel... Let me start by saying I am a **Marriott Bonvoy Elite** member. Marriott Grande Vista = the worst Marriott I've ever been to in my life. It started off OK. Unfortunately, it took a turn for the worst -- and fast. I will attest that I have a medical condition requiring me to run outdoors every day. This is doctor-recommended activity and I do it daily. On the second day of my stay at this Marriott, I was running around the property. Suddenly, a golf cart with Marriott Staff pulled up and *hit me with the golf cart* (as he must have been trying to cut me off or block me from going a certain direction ON the grounds that I am paying to use…). Either way, I don't know. I don’t care. Hitting a guest with a golf cart?! I had to grab hold of the cart to keep from running me over. Beyond unprofessional. Disrespectful. Extremely DANGEROUS. And to top it off? Then the golf pro continued to chase me around the course after I tried to start my run again back to my room (as I was at the other end of campus). I am limping now and intend to see a doctor. Again, this Marriott and its staff represent the epitome of *unprofessional* and *dangerous* behavior. When I reported the incident immediately thereafter, the staff said, "in order to file a report, you need to go to the golf pro shop." ARE YOU SERIOUS? You must be joking... What kind of response is that to a dangerous incident involving your staff hitting a guest with a motor vehicle?? Crazy… I am paying thousands ($X,000) to stay here for nearly an entire week. I called the front desk later to follow up and was told, “we don’t have a manager onsite we’ll give you a call back.” I have yet to get a response from this Marriott’s Manager. What type of resort has a manager who is MIA going into the weekend — what is he on vacation or something? (This happened on a Thursday). Net net = this Marriott is shameless, reckless and the staff exhibit dangerous behavior towards paying, Elite loyalty guests. If I have any level of serious injury (e.g., blood clotting) associated with being hit *intentionally* and *deliberately* by Marriott Staff vehicles and equipment, I may file lawsuit. So… Think twice before booking this Marriott. "Shiny" on the outside. "Shameless" and “Dangerous” on the inside. AVOID.

Enjoyed our visit! Felt the resort was lightly staffed, and as a result service was a bit slower. Minimal staff and lines to order f&b at peak times. Felt a 10am check out is too early. No late check out was allowed, even though hotel at 50% occupancy with $109 rate the next day. Wifi was not the best. The staff was super friendly and the pools were great. Activities with Max were fun, wish there were more of them. Bingo, trivia. Liked the main pool entertainment and TV. Fun time! Recommend staffing up the F&B options. Also more garbage cans around the pool area could help. They had a fun casino night planned, but it was like 6-8pm... kind of during dinner time after a day at the pool, wish it was later.

This is a very large resort hotel with great facilities. There are various different pools with waterfalls and play areas, several jacuzzis, and a sauna. There is also a decent gym that overlooks a beautiful lake with fountains. The gardens are maintained beautifully and feature some interesting birds and wildlife. Check-in was smooth and we would particularly like to thank the housekeeping staff who are so friendly and do an excellent job. Rooms are large and well-equipped with toiletries, spare towels, ironing board, kitchen equipment, coffee machine, hairdryer, safe. There are also free laundry facilities. The only thing missing is a doormat (particularly after the Florida downpours!), and the WiFi needs improving. Staff were overall very friendly and helpful, with the exception of one staff member in the lighthouse coffee house, who was very blunt and rude and ended up closing the door in my face when she told me they were closing. This was the only exception to otherwise very polite staff. One additional note would be that we were concerned to see the wild turtles in the lake being fished out by their mouths with hooks and violently dropped back in the water by a child using fishing equipment (cheered on by adults). This was distressing to witness. Staff managing the fishing equipment need to ensure that the turtles are protected. Overall we would definitely recommend this hotel- thank you!

Just The Ten Of Us

Second time staying at MGV - first time was a lovely experience 5 years ago. This time we stayed just one night at the back end of our vacation. We reserved a 3bdr suite. I want to be as fair as possible in my review, so I will say that the grounds are very nice. The room is spacious and came equipped with all the things you’d need for a longer stay. The balcony is very nice, the renovated bathrooms are great. However, about 1 hour into our stay, a cockroach appeared. This was unsettling. We called down to the desk. I was offered to have housekeeping come to my current room to spray or be moved. I requested I be moved and that’s really the only solution I would have wanted. I realize things of this nature happen. I was told to come back to the front to get new keys. We drive back over. I’m approached at the entrance and with new guests coming to check in behind me, when I was asked what I needed, I attempted to be discreet and just let the gentleman know that I had already checked in, had an issue with my room and spoke with someone about switching. In an effort to be decent, I did not want to start yelling about cockroaches in front of arriving guests. The gentleman I encountered was very rude and acted as if I was not making sense and that I was putting him out. When he was still unsatisfied with my responses about why I needed assistance he very bluntly asked what I wanted from him. I responded I had a cockroach in my room and was here to get keys to a new room. He brought me over to a podium, questioned me multiple times if I had gotten all of my stuff out of the room, created new keys and sent me on my way. It was a very poor customer service interaction. I didn’t want a thing but to move rooms and be treated respectfully. The new room had a strong odor of, you guessed it, bug spray. We had to sleep with the windows and sliding doors open for air. Additionally we were charged $25 x2 days for parking for one night. Overall, I wouldn’t return. The customer service was poor and the cockroaches come out during the day(and I do know the difference between a German cockroach that infests places and palmetto bugs that are native to Florida). There’s lots of other places in the area I wouldn’t settle for one that A. has bugs and B. isn’t even the slightest bit apologetic and make you feel like you’re inconveniencing them if they do.
