What can I say about this place that is actually decent. The location and the transportation is unmatched. But service, the hotel itself and other aspects of this place make it lackluster. My issues with Contemporary started in 2024 when my daughter busted her head on a table in Steakhouse 71. It was an accident but an ambulance had to be called because she needed stitches. They treated this like a cover up and acted like I was ruining the vibe of the restaurant and the resort. When everything was said and done, they never reached out to make sure she was ok or anything. Didn’t even offer giving our reservation we were there for back to us. They told us as we were leaving in the ambulance that they cancelled the reservation for us and didn’t charge us the cancellation since what had happened. They made it seem like it was a favor to us. Just swept it under the rug. Wasn’t trying to get anything from it but a simple is she ok or here is your reservation would have been nice. Very sad at how they treated the whole situation. Kind of had a bad taste in my mouth after that. But Fast forward to just a few weeks ago when I finally bit the bullet to stay here. The room was lackluster at best. It had scuff marks on the walls and half the outlets didn’t work. Paid for a water view room that had a lovely view…of a bush. You actually had to step off of the patio onto the sidewalk and turn a completely different direction to even see the water. Everything was just very underwhelming. Quick service took a very long time even with mobile ordering and cast members didn’t seem to be too friendly and not helpful. The most friendly person I met was one of the bell Hops. Just very disappointing to pay all that money for a deluxe resort to receive service and amenities like a value resort. After this stay, I will not be staying again.

Our family loved staying in the south garden wing of the Contemporary Resort. It was quiet and steps from the pool and the beautiful lake view. While my husband and adult daughter slept in, I was able to enjoy beautiful sunrises in a comfy chair by the lake. The short walk to the tower allowed me to get coffee and danish for them to take back to the room and get them moving along. We enjoyed all four parks over four days. It was awesome! We had a hiccup on the Sunday of our stay. Perhaps I overdid it, but I ended up passing out waiting for the fireworks. My husband quickly found a team member who called the onsite paramedics. They were amazing! I chose to go to the ER at Celebration to make sure it was a one time event. They also took great care of me. On Monday, I felt fine and we finished our trip in the Magic Kingdom. My compliments and appreciation to all who helped me and my family that evening. The service at Disney is the absolute best!

Experienced the magic of Disney! We stayed in the main tower, water facing side. The room was cozy, clean and spacious. The water view allowed us to have beautiful views of the sunrise in the morning and the electric water parade at the night. The availability of the monorail in the property makes it extremely convenient! Though we chose the property since it is walkable to Magic Kingdom, we didn't end up walking but instead used the monorail every time. The food and shopping options are decent. We experienced the character dining at Chef Mickey's which was a memorable experience as well. The food was good, the character meeting was great! Only complaint, if I have to be super critical, would be that of the shower. Setting the hand shower caused water to leak from the overhead shower as well and the force was low. But that was a minor inconvenience. Overall we had a great time and will surely revisit!

My first time at the Contemporary and it was well worth it! You cannot beat the location and the views of the fireworks and the electric water pageant. Using the monorail to EPCOT and a short walk to Magic Kingdom makes this a great value. Especially if you book a less expensive Garden Wing room. It’s quiet and still close to everything. California Grill and Steakhouse 71 are excellent food and service locations. I loved this trip and can’t wait to go back to the Contemporary! So relaxing!

I stayed at the Contemporary with my family a month after it opened in 1971. Granted it was brand new and nothing like anyone had ever seen, so I was excited to go back and to have my husband experience the hotel. My husband and I were celebrating our 40th anniversary. We stayed at the Disney Inn (now Shades of Gray) on our honeymoon. This anniversary was meant to make memories. When I booked the hotel I booked for a king size bed. When we arrived we had two double beds. It was corrected but it was the first of a few setbacks. We stayed Sunday night through Wednesday night. The Steakhouse restaurant was amazing! Chef Mickey’s was amazing! We spent part of our day Tuesday playing golf on a Disney course. We were gone approximately four hours and came back to the room not being cleaned. We went to Epcot after and came back to the room still not being cleaned. We had to call down for fresh towels and toilet paper. I don’t understand this. They tried to insinuate we had been in the room when we were gone most of the day. Also, we stayed on the 10th floor and looking down on the Chef Mickey area there is a huge stain on the ceiling of that area. Being that we are 40 years older now during this stay, my asthma was a problem. My inhaler wasn’t working in the heat and humidity. I needed a scooter in order to enjoy the parks because walking and gasping for breath was not fun. We wish the Contemporary offered scooters at the hotel as they run out in the parks very quickly. My husband called the scooter company in Orlando and they delivered one to the hotel, which worked but we feel the hotel should have them considering the room rates. We had a beautiful view of the pool and the lake. The food was amazing but it’s the other things that took away from our visit. Thank you for the chance to explain our experience. Danny & Lisa Muggeo
