Fairmont Mayakoba is a magical place to stay. The natural environment is stunning, the Casitas are luxurious, the dining options varied and delicious. We stayed in a Signature Casita Suite and it was lovely. Spacious, well-appointed, very clean and comfortable. The views from the balcony over the canals were beautiful. But its the team who cares about and for you while you stay that really "make" the experience. Our butlers Rodrigo and Fernando were two of the kindest and most genuine people I've met. They catered to our every whim with care and attention. They anticipated our needs and over-delivered. I can't explain how wonderful it feels to truly relax and slow down knowing everything you need (& more) is taken care of by the wonderful team at Fairmont Mayakoba. Highly recommend.

Excellent time for our family of 4 at the Fairmont Mayakoba over the Christmas/New Years holiday. We had a mangrove view (on the river) and the accommodations were very lux with a gorgeous spa bathroom. One constructive criticism would be a half bath in the space (additional WC) would have made the bathroom usage with our two teenage children less stressful. We shared a Cabinita (sp?) that had 2 queen beds. The spa was fabulous - shout outs to Roberto & Nataly at the front desk, Daniela & Ixchele in the beauty salon, and Mindy and others for the massages. We love Maya Cafe for coffee and sweets, Hix for sushi, Bassano for Italian dishes, Fuego was very inventive and Tauro Steak was delicious (yet very expensive). The golf cart taxis were alway readily available and the drivers were so lovely. The mangrove boat tour with Oscar was really eye opening and like a national geographic event. Housekeeping was terrific, cleaning / organizing our room each day plus turn down service. Love the pools and the beach was beautiful - and my kids loved taking out the SUPs and renting the Seabobs (a must do!). The shop on site did not have much in terms of personal items (or they sold out) so important for woman to plan their toiletries in advance. The Le Labo Rose 31 shampoo/conditioner/body wash/soap is a Fairmont staple and we are big fans! Beach was beautiful - but you need to reserve your chairs by 8am for a good location - and bicycles were readily available.

We had an incredible holiday here last week and everything was perfect - the jungle setting and beach are stunning, food and service are lovely. But I especially wanted to mention the fantastic kids club. We hadn’t planned on sending our 5 year old to the kids club but he saw some of the activities and asked to go. He absolutely loved it and said it was the highlight of his holiday. We were impressed by the range of creative activities they did (eg collage, comic writing, book making, crown making, dinosaur models…). The kids club staff were so lovely and thoughtful, often helping our son make something extra to take to his younger brother (too young to join the club) and always recognising him and chatting when they’d see him around the resort. Special thanks to Keyla, Esmerelda, Jessi, Heifhi, Lesley, Yadira and Dariana.

Overall this place is very good. I would give it 4.5 starts if I could but will default to 5 stars here. The good: 1. Grounds are very big. You can take long walks and bike rides. Most of the rooms are not near the beach but they have golf carts running all the time and you can get there pretty quickly. 2. The food is excellent. We enjoyed every restaurant, esp the the steak place and the place on the beach. 3. The Kids Club is awesome. The ladies are so caring and welcome. Our kids loved it! 4. The GM. I have never seen this before but the General Manager was all over. I saw him at least 9x and he gave us a ride once. Very impressive leadership. The not so good: 1. The pools. This is a weak spot for this resort. The service is not good - understaffed, had to go get them a few times, etc. Also all pools are 4'6" and so not good for kids. The pool near the beach is very nice but the pools in the inner area are dated. Fairmount really needs to improve this part. It is way to expensive of a resort to have poor service at the pools. Overall, we had fun and would come back.

An Anniversary Wrapped in Paradise Our stay at Fairmont Mayakoba was nothing short of magical. We came to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary and a birthday, and from the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into paradise. Arriving late in the evening, we were welcomed by beautiful festive lights, kind valet and bell staff, and a breathtaking lobby highlighted by a glowing Christmas wreath. The check-in experience truly stood out—we were seated comfortably, treated like VIPs, and everything felt seamless. A refreshing welcome drink was the perfect touch after a long journey. Despite the late hour, we enjoyed dinner at HIX, where we were seated immediately. Our server, David, made our first night unforgettable. His warmth, tequila recommendations, and local tips made us feel genuinely welcomed and set the tone for the rest of our stay. Getting to our room felt like a jungle adventure by cart, and the room itself exceeded all expectations—spacious, beautifully designed, and serene. The nature-inspired bathroom, relaxing tub, balcony seating, and ample closet space made it perfect for our week-long stay. If this was a standard room, we couldn’t even imagine how stunning the suites or villas must be?! Breakfast at La Laguna quickly became a favorite—the spread, fresh fruits, and lagoon views were unmatched. Even the thoughtful hawk security ensuring guests could eat peacefully showed the level of care and detail Fairmont provides. The resort’s pools were equally impressive, from serene adult pools to the stunning infinity pool surrounded by nature. It was the kind of place you never want to leave. Each night, our room was thoughtfully refreshed. We were touched by a special anniversary amenity, and a sweet trinket left by Olivia, our room attendant, made us feel truly valued. In-room dining was prompt and attentive, adding to the overall comfort. We explored Maykana, enjoyed drinks at Fuego and Cielo-rooftop bar, and it felt like everything you could want. One of our favorite ways to explore the resort was by using the complimentary bikes, relaxed at the spa, and visited the festive Christmas village. Our anniversary dinner on the floating island at La Laguna was unforgettable, made even more special by our wonderful server, Elizabeth, she took the time to explain each dish, guided us from appetizers to dessert. One touching moment happened at the adult pool when a guest cried out for help after her husband lost his ring. We later learned they were newlyweds on their honeymoon—and we were the ones who found the ring. In that moment, everything felt connected. Here we were celebrating 15 years of marriage, helping a couple at the very beginning of theirs. It reminded us that Fairmont Mayakoba isn’t just a resort—it’s a place where meaningful moments happen, where strangers become part of your story, and where love, in all its stages, is celebrated. On our last day, we enjoyed a peaceful boat tour around the lagoon. The calm water, the sound of birds, and the gentle ripples created a serene moment we’ll never forget. It was one of those quiet experiences that stays with you long after the trip ends. On our final night, we returned to HIX, enjoying drinks on our balcony overlooking the giant Christmas tree, with David once again making the evening special. Thank you, Fairmont Mayakoba, for an unforgettable stay. The service, attention to detail, and heartfelt hospitality made this the most memorable Fairmont experience we’ve ever had.
