Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside

We loved the resort and the amenities! The room is spotless and the maid service was excellent. Plenty of room and towels . T.V was awesome. The pool ranks among some of the best at Disney. It’s also great having access to the sister resort, French Quarter. The food court is very nice with plenty of choices. Plenty of bus stops. Great stay.

When we arrived at Port Orleans Riverside, we tried to use a keyless entry method on my phone but it wasn't working. So we had to drive over to the front desk - it is quite a large resort so walking was doable but driving is better. The front desk was so accommodating and kind. She made sure that not only did we have access to our room but she switched our room to make it more accessible for us since my younger son has mobility issues. She also made sure that each of my children received a Cool Kids Summer bag and swag. She made sure we knew about the Character meet and greet times which was such a plus for staying at this resort. I'm not sure if this is year round or it was just for the summer but being able to meet Mickey, Minnie and Donald in a smaller setting was pure magic - Donald did tell my son they were "Best Friends" and held his hand and my mom heart melted. We also took advantage of their S'mores event which was great! The rooms worked well for what we needed. I do wish the front desk had told us the cleaning schedule verbally during check in because we didn't notice the sign in our room and so our room was not cleaned after we had spent all day at the parks and came home super late to a room without clean towels or sheets - our fault for not seeing the cleaning schedule so we did need to call the front desk very late at night to get those items and they were brought down pretty quickly. The bus depots were pretty close to our room which made it easy to get Early Access to the parks. I also loved the Water Park promotion and the free round of mini golf - we took advantage of both and it was just another perk on staying at a Disney hotel vs. off site. We all had a magical time and hope to be back soon!

Overall, this is a decent place to stay at Walt Disney World. It's quiet and honestly has beautiful landscaping and lighting at night. The standard room is about the same as a standard room at a value resort like one of the All-Star resorts. If you are wanting a quiet atmosphere with beautiful surroundings, this is a great resort for you. However, unlike most of the value resorts, this moderate resort doesn't scream Disney. It's definitely Disney quality, but it doesn't have that Disney theme and IP everywhere. If you're just looking for a place to sleep, I'd recommend just sticking to a value resort though. The price difference between All Star Sports didn't seem quite worth it to me to just have a prettier resort to walk around.

Cute, clean, and comfortable! This was our first time visiting a Disney hotel and it was great. Not having carpet in the room really elevated the experience and we were impressed with the size of the shower. Loved that our room was ready early based on our preference and we were able to get right in without going to the front desk. We will definitely be back at this hotel again!

My family of 5 and I love this resort! It is beautiful and quiet. If you crave relaxation after a long day at the park, this resort is for you. The main pool as well as the quiet pools are amazing. The food at the food court is fantastic. It has plenty of options for everyone.
