Our stay at the Red Lion Hotel had both positive and negative aspects. On the positive side, the room was quite spacious, well organized, and mostly clean. The hotel also has a very good and convenient location. Although breakfast was not included, it was decent—standard but good. Unfortunately, there were some cleanliness issues. The carpets were visibly dirty, and the room we booked included a king bed with a sofa bed. When we opened the sofa bed, it had no sheets, was unfolded, and had food crumbs everywhere, along with an empty drink bottle. My husband went down to the front desk to report the situation. The only options offered were to change rooms or to be given sheets so we could make the bed ourselves. We chose not to change rooms because we were traveling with two small children and one of them was already asleep. We had planned to use the sofa bed, but due to how dirty it was, we couldn’t. What disappointed us the most was that no discount or compensation was offered. We felt that we paid for a service and only received part of what we paid for. In conclusion, while the location and room size were definite positives, the cleanliness and customer service did not meet our expectations.

The Red Lion beat my expectations and was great value for money. All the staff were extremely nice and helpful. The basketball and tennis courts are well kept, and the pool was very clean with rarely more than just few poeple in. There was always plenty of sunbeds and towels available. They even lend out basketballs to play with. Free morning coffee was a nice touch and well made. I would definitely stay again in future.

This place was amazing from the time I walked into being welcomed to get into my room and it being an amazing temperature. The beds were so comfortable I could’ve laid there for a week and I got out of it. The pools are nice. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. I don’t know why this hotel does not have five stars, unless people did not experience the same as I did, but it was amazing. I will definitely be coming back to this place when I visit. And the room was very spacious more than a lot of other places I’ve been at.

The room was huge! A king bed with a sofa bed, I believe it was an ADA room so I'm not sure if that's how all of the King bed rooms appear. I couldn't get in touch with the front desk or housekeeping to get towels and the location is great, BUT it's at an intersection where the traffic is atrocious!! The pool area is really cute! There is a lazy river, pool, hot tub, and water slide there. Let's not forget the poolside bar, restaurant, and the souvenir shop! You don't really have to leave the hotel, if you don't want. My friend and I had a really nice stay and I think we would definitely return!

The POOL IS ICE COLD it's not heated like their website states. I live in Maine snow everywhere I chose this hotel based on their lazy river based on their waterslide based on website saying their pools are heated. I wanted to be able to go swimming w my 12 yr old son everyday on vacation the 1st one ever I was barely able to afford, but knowing we had the whole pool area even if we didn't have money to do anything else at least we would have that everyday, WRONG I forced myself to get in the water one day and it was sitting on a tube not even in the water. I was told when I arrived at the hotel that they needed to hold $120 security deposit that it was just a hold as long as the room was good it would be released to me after check out and Instead I got a surprise bill after checking out for "resort fees" that just so happened to be the same exact total price of the security deposit? They released the $120 then the very next day did a force charge on my credit card for $120 which I am disputing at the moment because they were very sheisty about the whole thing never once mentioning any resort fees my whole stay until the morning I checked out is when they 1st mentioned it, and I honestly would not have even cared if I were able to actually even get in the water I was there during Xmas week in December and the pool was ice when anyone said anything the lifeguards laughed like it was an inside known fact they don't heat the pool so your charging me $120 to sit next to the pool to watch my kids lips turn blue. This hotel is huge a ton of rooms there were lines everyday of people just waiting to check in, there's no shortage on the funds it would take to heat the pool. Don't stay at a place that you can not actually reach anyone at the hotel that should have been my 1st red flag. There is no way the same people who put so much into the pool area are still the same owners today. OH and they don't have bicycles either, another thing I thought would be nice to do w my son would be to rent bikes, no bikes. Hope I could help someone w some truths before booking this hotel.This hotel should be ashamed charging people extra $ for "resort fees" and then not heating their pools like stated on their website.
