We had a amazing stay at Wyndham Altra Punta Cana. The resort is clean, well maintained, and has a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable, and the overall layout of the property is well done. The staff throughout the resort was friendly and polite. In most of the theme restaurants, the service was warm and welcoming, but unfortunately very slow. Waiting times for ordering and food were quite long, even when the restaurants were not very busy, which took away from the dining experience. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and felt comfortable at the resort. With faster and more efficient service in the restaurants, this would be an even better experience.

The hotel is a bit older-looking, especially in the rooms, and the beds weren’t the softest—but they were still comfortable overall. This is definitely more of a family-oriented resort, and I visited as a couple. That said, we still had a great time because there was an adults-only bar open until 2 a.m., which we really enjoyed. The food was honestly the best I’ve had out of the three resorts I’ve stayed at. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with fresh donuts, breads, made-to-order omelets, and plenty of other options to choose from. The food at the restaurants was consistently good as well. We stayed during New Year’s, and they offered a four-course meal that was fresh, well-prepared, and delicious. One thing I really appreciated is that the resort doesn’t use wristbands or require reservations, so you don’t feel rushed or stuck eating at only one place at a time. The only downside was that the liquor felt watered down, and it took quite a few drinks to feel a buzz. Overall, the service was great, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating, which made the experience even better. The location is about 40-45 mins away from the airport. The water is beautiful but it's on the side of ocean that's not light blue it's darker

January 2026. This property exceeded my expectations in all categories. The rooms are well appointed, the pool is sooooo large - plenty of privacy for all and the access to food / beverage is extensive. The staff is kind and very well trained and the grounds are lush and beautiful. The beach is wonderful with lots of shady options. Easy to recommend this property.

Upon checking in, we were warmly welcomed by Adonis Martinez, who provided extraordinary service and set a positive tone for our stay. Kelvin Mansueta De Rosario was also incredibly helpful, assisting us with our luggage during both check-in and check-out with genuine courtesy. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained — the facilities are spotless, the rooms are comfortable and well-kept, and the pools and surrounding areas are cleaned daily and in excellent condition. Every corner of the property reflects great care and attention to detail, making it a relaxing environment for families and couples alike. Several staff members went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Chef Fernando Simprian, Luis Reyes Cuevas, and Alicia Michel from the restaurants provided outstanding service and delicious food. At the buffet, Christian Ogando and Simona Frias were welcoming and attentive, and Maribel at the pool bar stood out with her excellent service and friendly attitude. However, there is room for improvement. Some of the breakfast staff, particularly those preparing omelets, seemed unapproachable and made me feel as though I was inconveniencing them when asking politely for service. Additionally, a few bartenders at the pool bar appeared disengaged and were openly discussing dissatisfaction with the hotel’s recent transition — something guests shouldn’t have to overhear. Overall, our stay was wonderful thanks to the many team members who clearly take pride in their work and the hotel’s well-maintained facilities. With more consistency across all departments, this property has the potential to deliver a truly five-star experience every time.

Overrated and disappointing experience, not worth the price! I recently stayed at Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana with my family and, unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing and far from what is advertised. This resort is completely overrated. Within the first hours of arrival, I spent over an hour of my holiday making formal complaints, which already says a lot. I even had to submit a written complaint on the evening of our arrival due to the number of issues. Here are the main problems: • Bathroom issues: The shower was broken and leaking badly, flooding the toilet area. • Unpleasant smell in the room, clearly as if people had been smoking previously. • Hygiene concerns: When I tried to make a tea, one of the tea bags provided was mouldy. This is unacceptable and concerning from a health and safety perspective. • Poor communication at reception: We checked in at 17:30 and were not informed about how the restaurants work or that we needed to be at the door by 18:00 to secure dinner. We almost missed dinner entirely due to staff failing to explain basic information. • Cleanliness: The room floor was dirty upon arrival, as were the bathroom sink and surfaces. For a resort at this price point, these issues are simply unacceptable. Cleanliness, maintenance, food safety, and basic guest communication should be the bare minimum. Sadly, instead of relaxing and enjoying time with my family, I found myself dealing with complaints from the very first day. I would not return and would not recommend this resort to anyone expecting a true all-inclusive, stress-free holiday.
