This is the second time I’ve stayed at sanctuary cap Cana booked through Costco. The first time I stayed was in 2024 and it was phenomenal, the rooms were nice, the service was fantastic, and so many different restaurants were included. Now that I’ve visited again in 2026 after it transitioned multiple times in 2025, it’s a shell of what it used to be. The food overall is still on average better than most all inclusive/cruises, however there’s a lot of dishes across the different restaurants that are way too salty. The service is also hit or miss, some waiters are amazing and others forget to even bring enough menus. When I came in 2024 the staff also on average could understand us better where as this time there are times where it’s hard to communicate to the staff. Additionally a lot of the restaurants no longer are included like the pizza place and sushi place used to be included, however are no longer included. All the restaurants and snack places that are included also aren’t open all the time, so your choices on a daily basis are limited. For the events I remember in 2024 even if it was just me and my friend they would still run the activities but now if it’s like an exercise class or activity with only 2 people they’ll cancel it rather than run it. It’s so sad, because I used to rave about this place as the most worth it place to go to all inclusive wise, now it’s mediocre at best. I don’t think I’ll be coming back or recommending it anymore to friends and coworkers in the future. Will also be posting this review on Costco, as it’s no longer a worth it package anymore.

If you’re looking for a relaxing adults-only getaway, Sanctuary Cap Cana absolutely delivers. To me, the biggest reason this resort stands out is the staff. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to care that we had a great vacation. Our butler, Alex, was fantastic and helped make our stay truly memorable. Felix (like the cat) at the pool was also fantastic! The property is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable, and the pools are great. We visited during a slower week, so the resort was less than half full. It never felt crowded, finding chairs was easy, and the peaceful atmosphere was exactly what we were hoping for. We tried all all of the pools and our favorite was the waterfall pool by the main pool. The food was good, especially for an all-inclusive resort. Don’t expect Michelin-star dining, but we enjoyed every meal and always found something we liked. Because occupancy was low, some restaurants rotated their dinner schedules, so there were limited choices each night, but it wasn’t too big of a deal. The only negative was the sargassum on the beach, but that’s a seasonal/regional issue and certainly not the resort’s fault. Overall, we had an amazing stay. The beautiful property brought us here, but the incredible staff made it a trip we’ll always remember!

The property itself is gorgeous, but what truly set this vacation apart and made it the experience of a lifetime was the unmatched, world-class service. The entire staff goes above and beyond to make you feel like royalty, but a few extraordinary individuals genuinely stole the show. A massive thank you to Moises, Felix, Abel, Estarlin, Omar, Luis Mario, Luis Xaviol, Freddy, Randy, and Esperanza for their endless hospitality, warmth, and attention to detail. Every single one of them anticipated our needs before we even realized them! And a special shoutout to the incredible Manuels—we think we met at least three different Manuels during our stay, and every single one was absolute gold! The genuine kindness and dedicated service from this team was hands down the highlight of our entire trip. They brought so much joy, passion, and energy to our stay, making every meal, drink, and interaction feel special. If you’re thinking about booking a trip here, do not hesitate. Sanctuary Cap Cana is absolute perfection, and the staff will make sure you never want to leave. We are already counting down the days until we can return! 🌴🍹✨

From the moment we arrived at Sanctuary Cap Cana, we were amazed. Every corner of this resort is absolutely beautiful—there isn’t a single place that isn’t breathtaking. The grounds are stunning, the atmosphere is relaxing, and everything is so well maintained. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the incredible service. Every staff member made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. A special thank you to Christy and Osvaldo, the pool bartender, made the best drinks and even took the time to help me find a cocktail I absolutely loved! Ivan, the DJ, was such a kind soul and added so much positive energy to our stay. Jarlo at the club bar was just as amazing, providing exceptional service with a smile every time we visited. There were so many other wonderful employees who made our vacation special, and we are truly grateful for each of them. We have never been happier with the level of service we received. If you’re looking for a beautiful resort with exceptional hospitality, Sanctuary Cap Cana is the place to be. We can’t wait to come back!

This was my first resort stay. I thought I’d share my impressions. However, a lot of this is based on expectations that may not be reasonable. The good: The room was great! They gave us an upgrade on arrival and we had a great room with a fantastic ocean view. The food: The food met or exceeded my expectations for the most part. I especially enjoyed the Asian restaurant, I gave them 5 stars! The service: the service felt exceptional to me. Whenever we had an issue it was promptly dealt with and the staff outside of a lone barista were all super friendly and attentive. The bad: and these are almost all examples of perhaps my expectations being too high. I’m visiting the carribean and I expected a few things I didn’t get. #1- the beach. This was the biggest letdown. The beach here while private was closed the entire trip. I think that Marriott may argue that this was beyond their control, but we were able to walk up the beach and use them without much effort. So, Hyatt didn’t seem to have the same difficulty providing a beach to their guests that Marriott did. Even if the beach had been open it would have been very small and not that pretty. If you, like us, are looking to enjoy the beach and ocean I would suggest looking elsewhere. #2: seafood. We traveled from Utah to the carribean and expected to be treated to amazing seafood. There was almost none to be found. The buffet had no shrimp, crab, lobster, etc. you could get fish. And the seafood restaurant was not much better! Of all the restaurants here the food there was the least impressive. I would have thought a stay in a resort this expensive would include a seafood buffet. #3: this is minor, but it was almost impossible to get a coconut. We had to walk up to the Hyatt up the beach where the employee there took pity on us and gave us a coconut from their stand where their guests can get them free all day. Lastly: another minor nit. It would have been very nice for the bars to be able to prepare drinks made with fresh fruits instead of just artificial flavors. But probably most folks don’t care that much as long as the alcohol is there. All in all a mixed bag. I give it 3 of 5 stars. But my next trip to the DR I will be looking to try a different resort.
