Visited for five nights with two couples total and this place was definitely worth it! Clean and comfortable rooms, delicious food, and amazing staff... there is no reason to go to an all-inclusive and not experience the very best, and the staff here will take the very best care of you! Yes, tipping is appreciated by them and when they go above and beyond, they deserve it. Here are a few of the amazing staff members we appreciated so much: GiGi (Argyles?)... awesome activities coordinator, along with Maria! Luis Mario, Ismael, and Omar were the most amazing wait staff for our days on the beach. Get by the beach and you will never get up to get a drink while you're there... these guys are great! Alejandro and Riccardo at the Wok restaurant, this was our favorite and we were able to get in twice! Amazing service, amazing food, and the reason we slept so well with full bellies. Kayla took care of our cabana daily, making sure we were stocked with beach towels and our cabana and items were safe and watched over. Lastly, but not least, Olga and Brillis at the Coffee Bar every day with the Frappuccino Passion was the best way to start the day (even before breakfast!). We had so many great experiences while we were there, from karaoke and singing, to the pools and beach, to the restaurants and quality staff. Never had a negative encounter, not once. Go, enjoy, let loose, and have a great time!!!

2/5 – Disappointing Stay, Not Worth the Price This is a three-star experience masquerading as a four-star hotel. Overall, I would not stay here again. For the price point, your money will go much farther elsewhere. I was genuinely surprised, as I thought I had done adequate research before booking. The Castle The swim-up suite pool was freezing — and I say that as someone who regularly jumps into alpine lakes and the Puget Sound. In late February, it was effectively unusable, with no warning from the property. “Butler service” is not truly butler service. There appear to be only a handful of butlers serving 100+ guests across multiple buildings. Service was neither prompt nor personal, and it certainly didn’t feel VIP. Housekeeping was inconsistent and slow. Our room was passed over multiple times; we had to ask staff repeatedly for service. On our third day, no one came at all until we contacted the butler. Be aware that you will hear the neighboring resort — loud music played late into the night. In-room amenities were also lacking. The TV offers about five channels (four sports) with no streaming options, and the resort blocks casting or screen mirroring. These are basic features at this price tier. There are also no drawers for clothing storage — an odd and inconvenient design choice. Main Resort The beach is minuscule — about the size of the Castle pool. If you’re looking for a true ocean-swimming experience, this is not the place. The resort doesn’t even offer goggles or snorkels for rent. Every sun chair at the main pool is claimed by 8:30 a.m., so plan accordingly. Food was mixed: • Casa Bella: solid breakfast and lunch. • Steakhouse: average (3/5). • Other restaurants opened sporadically. The “nicer” restaurants did not enforce their dress code, and loud, disruptive patrons were not addressed, which detracted from the atmosphere. The onsite market is extremely overpriced — though that’s somewhat expected at resorts. Bottom Line This was a subpar experience that didn’t justify the cost. It felt mid-tier at best, despite premium pricing. I would vacation elsewhere or spend slightly more to stay somewhere that truly delivers a four-star experience.

Our experience at Sanctuary Cap Cana was a mix of emotions. Without a doubt, the best part of the resort was its staff. I would especially like to recognize Glory from Casa Bella, who always greeted us with a smile and had a beautiful fruit platter prepared especially for us, including mangoes, which she knew we loved. We would also like to thank Juan, who took care of us during breakfast and was always kind, attentive, and professional. A very special thank you goes to Sheyla, who worked by the pool. Starting on our second day, she already had our towels prepared and our lounge chairs ready every morning. That kind of personalized attention made us feel truly welcomed. We would also like to recognize Franyer from the entertainment team for his energy, enthusiasm, and kindness throughout our stay. We also do not want to forget our butler, Joan. He was always willing to help whenever we had issues with our room. He was attentive, professional, and made sure our concerns were addressed quickly. His excellent service made a big difference during our stay. Although we have mentioned a few names, we apologize for not remembering every staff member who made our stay special. Every person we interacted with treated us with kindness, respect, and a smile. The entire team was truly exceptional. Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about the staff. Whatever the resort may have lacked in certain areas, the employees more than made up for it through their dedication and outstanding service. Our biggest disappointment was that the Wok restaurant closed on the very day we arrived and remained closed for virtually our entire stay. Considering that Sanctuary does not have a large number of restaurant options to begin with, losing one of its dining venues was very noticeable. Additionally, we only learned after arriving that the poolside food and bar area operated only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. It would have been helpful to know this beforehand or to have additional food options available during the week. We greatly appreciated being treated to dinner at one of the restaurants in Sanctuary Town on our last night. However, because of the extended closure of the Wok restaurant, we believe the resort could have been more flexible and offered this experience to affected guests earlier in their stay. In summary, we left with mixed feelings. The staff deserves five stars for their dedication, hospitality, and exceptional attention to guests. Thanks to them, we enjoyed our stay and created wonderful memories. We hope management will consider providing better alternatives when one of the resort’s main dining options is unavailable for such an extended period. Without a doubt, we will remember the people who made our trip special. They are the true heart of Sanctuary Cap Cana.

Relaxing Atmosphere, Beautiful Rooms, and Warm Hospitality Sanctuary at Cap Cana delivers the kind of atmosphere that makes a getaway feel effortless. The resort has a calm, upscale vibe that sets the tone the moment you arrive. My room was very nice—well‑kept, comfortable, and designed to make you feel like you’re truly on vacation. One of the highlights of the stay was the people. Everyone I encountered was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to enjoy making guests feel at home. The food throughout the resort was well presented, with dishes that looked as good as they tasted. The only thing I’d suggest for future visitors is to plan your trip during a time of year when seaweed isn’t heavy on the beaches. It’s a natural occurrence in the region, but it can affect the shoreline experience depending on the season. Overall, Sanctuary at Cap Cana offers a wonderful atmosphere, great service, and a relaxing stay—just be mindful of the seaweed season when choosing your dates.

We attended a friend's 40th birthday at the Castle, booked through Costco travel. The resort is not new yet is well maintained. Our room came with a butler named Alexander and he was wonderful to work with. We dined at Casa Bella, Steakhouse, and Wok, but couldn't get a reservation at the Italian restaurant, a common issue at resorts since you cannot book before you arrive. The food was good with diverse options. The castle has its own pool, which is nice, but rude guests reserve chairs all day without using them, limiting seating. This problem exists at other pools and the beach. The PM pub hosts nightly shows and dancing; we enjoyed the independent show and ABBA tribute, which were both excellent. During the day, they offer activities like a fun mixology class with Gigi and Bryan; punctuality is important due to limited spots.
