We had a decent stay at this resort, but to call it five stars is an affront of actual five star properties. Check in process ages you a decade, because that’s about how long it takes. Slow, inefficient, so much typing and data entry. It’s 2026, whatever antiquated system they’re using needs to be scrapped. The pool and beach are absolutely PACKED with people. The tiny beach is tremendously unenjoyable due to the crowds. The grounds are well kept with nice walking paths. The hot tubs were not hot at all, and many guests shared this complaint. The lazy river was freezing and had no current. The grotto pool bar is very cool! The guest rooms are spacious and comfortable, but the air conditioning could not keep up during the daytime. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Service was fine, but very much depends on how you tip. Sometimes, even with tips, service was just absent. The food is alright. Rio is the best place to eat, but you practically have to beg for them to bring you more food, especially the filet and picanha. A decent stay, but definitely does not belong in the Autograph Collection.

We had a wonderful one-week stay at this beautiful resort in the Dominican Republic. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The beach is absolutely stunning — clean, weed-free, and immaculately maintained. The padded lounge chairs were extremely comfortable, making it easy to relax for hours by the ocean. The cabanas are truly amazing; we rented them for two days and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The service throughout the entire day was exceptional, attentive without being intrusive, and made us feel genuinely pampered. The food was excellent, both at the buffet and the à la carte restaurants. There was a great variety, the quality was consistently high, and the service was always friendly and professional. What truly set this resort apart was the outstanding service. Every staff member we encountered was warm, welcoming, and eager to help. A very special shout-out to Angela from Guest Experience, who went above and beyond to take care of any special requests and made sure our stay was perfect. Her kindness and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Overall, this resort delivers beauty, comfort, great food, comfortable size and wonderful service. We would absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable vacation with family and kids. …. We were 7 adults and 4 children. A lot of activities for the kids . The Royalton Bavaro was a great overall all inclusive hotel overall and my family and I had an amazing trip! The resort is beautiful, there are multiple pools, and the ocean color is one of my favorite! The staff were super nice and responsive at whatever needs we had. We went during Christmas break, so it was super busy. The service at the restaurants was not the best, but it is to be expected when it is super busy. Service at the pool was amazing though!

This hotel is located on a beautiful beach. We spent a week in a luxury junior jacuzzi room. The room was spacious, modern, and elegant. All the bars are well-stocked, and my favorite was the one on the beach. As for the restaurants, the best are Steak, Italian, and Ocean. The best waiter is Jesus, who deserves praise and should definitely be promoted to manager. I don't recommend the buffet restaurant, especially the breakfast, and I think the management needs to be replaced as soon as possible. That's really the only problem with this hotel. Other than that, we had a pleasant and happy week-long vacation before our Christmas Marella Cruise by TUI.

We travelled in early Dec with our 2 kids (7 and 3) and overall we had a great time! I'll just fire off a few random pros and cons. PROS: -the grounds are beautiful and clean -The beach was great with beautiful smooth sand -Lots of chairs available. Might not be the same during the busier periods but we never had too much difficulty finding chairs (either on the beach or by the pools) -Staff were mostly great and liked to try and make the kids laugh -Lots of entertainment to keep the kids busy, they would have inflatable structures at the pool, beach parties, bands, water balloon fights etc. The night shows were pretty good and it was always nice to hang out in the main square after dinner. -The lazy river is definitely a highlight -Food was great overall and we mostly ate at the buffet but they always had a great variety and it didn't feel too same-y CONS: -The room. We stayed in a presidential 1 bedroom suite and while the size and layout was perfect and exactly what we needed, the room overall had a lot of wear and tear. Nothing major but neither shower worked great, the kitchen was bare bones and came with nothing, the coffee maker was missing a piece and never worked properly. -House cleaning, there was a pile of sand that came out of my son's swim suit on the 2nd day and it was never cleaned up despite the room being "cleaned" daily. Some days the mini-fridge was restocked and some days it was not. -The size of the resort: Not necessarily always a bad thing but it is a large resort so depending on where your room is, you might have a bit of a hike to either the restaurants or to the beach. We somewhat regretted not bringing a wagon or stroller because I often ended up carrying my 3 year old daughter back from the beach/pools. Overall we had a great time and the PROS far outweighed the CONS. I'd definitely recommend this resort if you are travelling with kids.
