We recently returned from a wonderful one-week stay at JOIA Bávaro and had an absolutely fantastic experience. We stayed in an ocean-view junior suite with butler service, and Junior and Valentin could not have been more amazing. They took exceptional care of us throughout our stay, always available to assist with anything we needed and truly making us feel spoiled. The buffet was outstanding, with plenty of delicious options every day, and Ortiz greeted us so warmly that we felt like old friends by the end of the week. Our room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The Japanese restaurant was our favorite dining experience of the trip. There was always something happening around the resort, although we were perfectly happy spending most of our days relaxing in the pool. We also took a golf cart over to the sister property to enjoy the hydrotherapy pools, which were excellent and well worth making an appointment for. The beach was not at its best due to sargassum season, which we were aware of before arriving. While the smell was occasionally unpleasant, it only rarely affected our time around the pool and did not detract significantly from our overall enjoyment. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with both the experience and the value. The resort felt very safe, the service was exceptional, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We would absolutely return and highly recommend JOIA Bávaro to anyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious getaway.

We celebrated our daughter’s wedding at JOIA. Wonderful experience and staff. Our butler, Victor, was awesome. He took care of anything we needed or wanted to do. The maids were top notch and our room was cleaned and prepped at least twice a day. Ery, our poolside bartender was so much fun and made great drinks. All the staff was friendly, energetic, and happy. The ones that stood out for me were Black Mamba, Snoop Dog, Ery, Victor, and many others that I don’t remember names but the staff always remembered our names. I definitely hope we get the chance to visit here again.

This was our second time at a JOIA resort and we’ll definitely be back. The rooms and the food were great and we never had trouble finding a comfy place to sit outside. (If you do, ask Camilo at the towel pavilion and he’ll go on the hunt for you.) We’re quiet vacationers and this place fit the bill—enough going on that we could find something to do if we wanted to, but not loud. The people really make this place. Our butlers, Alan and Cesar, were phenomenal—friendly and accommodating. Joehl at the restaurant always took good care of us. Victor and Ery at the bars made great drinks. All in all, a fantastic experience.
