Had a wonderful stay at InterContinental Koh Samui Resort. Everything exceeded our expectations—from the beautiful resort and stunning views to the excellent food and outstanding service. Every member of staff we met was warm, friendly, and genuinely attentive, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The Club InterContinental experience was fantastic, and we also enjoyed the activities offered by the resort, especially the Mat Pilates session, which was professionally conducted and very enjoyable. A special thank you to the entire team for helping make our father’s birthday celebration even more memorable. We truly appreciated the hospitality and attention to detail. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Koh Samui.

The experience at this InterContinental is truly wonderful. From the superior and attentive service (thank you, Lisa), to the delicious and attractively presented food, no small detail goes unnoticed to make a stay more pleasant. The facility may be slightly older than some newer properties elsewhere, but it is lovingly maintained and seamlessly integrated with the beautiful environs which host it. The beach and swimming pool areas are all well placed and managed, and the gym, with views of the water, is wonderful for an aerobic or strength workout. You can do a full body work out on the various machines/barbells. We did not take any of the numerous excursions, choosing to go zen on site, but they looked fun. A fair number of guests, many German, with children, but the peaceful ambience of the place was hardly ever broken, except, perhaps during the slightly louder-than-desired (for us) saxophone background music at Flame bar one night. The performer was nonetheless very good. But some people dig that kind of accompaniment, so who am I to complain? We very much enjoyed the Buddha-bar type vibe in the background by the DJ one night at the Amber restaurant (amazing Thai food, especially the Phad Thai, steamed sea bass and vermicelli/crab curry). Good mix of younger family and senior clientele. Not a party place but a great setting for relaxation and reflection. Bonus point on the bottled water available. Food usually quickly delivered, with a smile; Flame at lunchtime slightly slow one day when it was not busy, but quality top-notch. We also had a Thai and oil massage, respectively, and they were heavenly. Perhaps the best I’ve had. Would come back anytime and recommend highly to any and all! Great experience!!

Our staying in the hotel is about to finish and I want to thank all the staff and management. It is rare case when you pay a lot of money but want to repeat 😅. The hotel is beautiful, the villa is beautiful (though a bit big for us three, one family member could not come unfortunately), the view is spectacular, the breakfast is the best. There are always small things you would correct but all in all the management makes a great job, I must confess. Among those minor things: is not obvious that you may ask mango or watermelon during the breakfast; the prices are really high in restaurants but in some cases the quality is not up to the price range… like cocktails and mocktails… well, it was really bad pina colada and mojito 🫣; some staff forget about orders in pool bar, others are great though. All in all, great experience for a few days of relax without leaving hotel premises

My wife and I recently spent our honeymoon here and it was absolutely incredible. The resort itself is amazing - our beach pool villa was so relaxing and the views from the restaurants were beautiful. Every staff member we encountered was so friendly and welcoming. We especially loved the lady who directs the traffic on the corner and the wait staff during evening cocktails - but all of the staff were first class! It was the perfect place to unwind on our honeymoon and we would highly recommend it to others.

We stayed five nights at the InterContinental Koh Samui Resort as two adults with a teenager and had a very enjoyable overall experience. The standout feature is clearly the staff. Every team member we encountered was consistently professional, attentive, and genuinely committed—an excellent team across the resort. The location on the quiet southwest coast is a major strength. Set on a steep hillside, the resort offers beautiful sea views and sunsets, with a peaceful atmosphere and a beachfront suitable for swimming and snorkeling. The property features multiple pools and well-designed villas; our bungalow was spacious, well maintained, and equipped with high-quality materials, a private pool, and jacuzzi. Dining was good overall (around 4/5). While the variety is appreciated, the cuisine did not always feel fully authentic (both Thai and Italian). However, the breakfast buffet was excellent, and the Club InterContinental experience—afternoon tea and sunset cocktails—was a highlight. This is a great property for relaxation, but less suited for those seeking activities or a lively atmosphere. There are no dedicated facilities for small children, and the resort is relatively remote (around 15–20 minutes by taxi to the nearest town). The reason for the four-star rating lies in the level of management presence and handling of minor issues. Compared to other comparable InterContinental resorts, senior leadership visibility felt limited. In similar properties, it is common to see the club manager, restaurant managers, or even chefs regularly engaging with guests. Here, interactions at that level were minimal, and when a few minor hiccups occurred, the response felt less proactive and structured than expected—despite the staff themselves being consistently polite and apologetic. One suggestion for improvement would be to designate a dedicated Club pool, as seen in other InterContinental resorts, to further enhance the premium guest experience. Overall, a beautiful, peaceful resort with outstanding staff and strong fundamentals—well suited for a relaxing stay, particularly for couples or families with older children.
