Stayed for a week at Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana and had a great overall experience. Check-in was a breeze — we were welcomed with champagne, which set a lovely tone for the stay. The front desk associate walked us through the property, amenities, and everything we needed to know, which was a nice touch. The restaurants are truly a highlight — easily 5-star quality. The French Polynesian and Peruvian spots stand out as exceptional and among the best fine dining experiences on the property. Teppanyaki is solid but standard, and the Indian restaurant was average in comparison. One downside: despite paying close to $1,000 per night, we were offered a “coupon” at check-in that turned out to be tied to a timeshare presentation — without that being clearly disclosed upfront. That left a bit of a bad taste. Service-wise, the female front desk associate was phenomenal. However, a male staff member could benefit from additional training — he became slightly argumentative when I raised a concern. It wasn’t a major issue, but at this price point, you expect a consistently polished level of service. That said, it’s something that can easily be improved with better guest etiquette training. Overall, the property delivers on what it promises — beautiful grounds, great food, and a quality stay.

Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana is three hotels situated on the coast in the Dominican Republic catering for all types. We stayed at Cap Cana Secrets, an adults only hotel. On arrival at the hotel you are assigned a concierge wh caters for your every need, booking restaurants, informing you of the daily events, etc. The hotel itself is like a mini paradise ,very verdant with breathtaking ocean views. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing is to much trouble for them There are events on all day throughout the complex, with an evening entertainment show at night. Food is excellent. The breakfast buffet caters for all types of eaters. There are five restaurants, Sushi, Mexican, French, Italian and a steakhouse. To eat inside at the French and Italian restaurants men need to wear long trousers, no shoes - it is worth it This is our first visit to the resort. It won't be our last, such is the welcoming, friendly impression it has on us

Luxury resort and everything was just perfect. Excellent service by friendly staff. The buffet food is good but the restaurants are the highlight, both the italian and asian restaurants had quality food. Navigator and the pool side grill were great for lunch and so was the pizza at Prontozs which was really fresh and well made. Room service menu is limited and was ok. The pool is huge and never felt crowded. Beach had some seaweed but overall had ample space to lounge although beach umbrellas are limited compared to pool side loungers which are plenty. The beach itself is gorgeous with turquoise calm waters. In addition the kids waterpark is big and has a number of slides suitable even for adults. A fun place for toddlers with a food truck for a quick bite. There are also numerous other things going on everyday including movies for kids, magic shows etc and there was a bonus lobster dinner on the lawns one night. Overall an excellent location and resort which has a lot of options.

Our favoorritte resort!!!! We love it so much we got a membership our 2nd time there. We're booked for our 3rd trip in 5 years for this september. The food and service at this place will make you never look at another resort the same again. All i have to say is this place really sets the bar for 5 star vacations. Can't wait to go back! 🙌

From the moment we arrived, we noticed what felt like an “Egyptian-style scam”, where they tried to charge us an extra 400 USD per night for an ocean view room. After refusing twice, they even asked how much we were willing to pay. The next morning, we realized our room already had an ocean view. A terrible first impression. I have visited the Dominican Republic 9 times and never experienced staff as slow, unfriendly, snobbish, and unmotivated as at the Zilara buffet. The buffet system itself is inconvenient since guests cannot serve themselves and must ask for everything. Staff rarely greet guests, do not respond to a thank you, and overall service lacks leadership and professionalism. Cleanliness in the buffet restaurant is poor, with dirty windows and lack of attention to detail. Tea was never served properly without having to ask separately for sugar or a spoon. The restaurants are also excessively cold due to the air conditioning. Desserts and juices are of very poor quality. Pancakes, waffles, and crepes are left sitting cold instead of being freshly prepared. The pool bars are also extremely slow and clearly lack organization and management. The only positive exception were the bar staff and the café bar near reception, where employees were genuinely friendly and pleasant. Interestingly, the Ziva buffet staff were also far warmer and more welcoming, despite not being perfectly trained. The beach was disappointing due to the excessive amount of seaweed, and the removal system was clearly ineffective. The pool area has plenty of loungers, which is positive, and the freshly prepared food was acceptable. Room cleanliness was average, although the bed and pillows were comfortable. The biggest issue was the complete lack of friendliness and hospitality, which ultimately ruined the entire experience. The final disappointment came at checkout. We were initially told it was impossible to extend our room or even have access to a shower before our late flight, forcing us to prepare for a 24-hour journey without bathing. Only after going personally to reception did they suddenly allow us to keep the room until 4 PM. They also admitted the hotel was not designed with facilities for late departures. This hotel is clearly focused on American guests, and I would not recommend it to European travelers looking for genuine 5-star service. I will not return.
