Recently stayed for my bachelorette party. The resort itself was clean but certainly not anything overly impressive. What was impressive was the service from our pool boys Edwin and Roger! The most service forward gentlemen who checked in with our group, made sure we were fed and never had an empty glass. We loved them!!! The resort itself had a variety of entertainment and it all started with Erik - who kept the pool activities vibrant and made an effort to get to know you on a first name basis. These three fellas made us feel so taken care of!

If I could give this resort zero stars, I would. This was, without question, the worst all-inclusive experience I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, the entire atmosphere felt cold and unwelcoming. It genuinely seemed like every staff member was having the worst day of their life and took it out on the guests. Friendly service was practically nonexistent. The food was consistently disappointing. For a resort that charges premium prices, the quality was embarrassingly poor. Every meal felt like a gamble, and there wasn’t a single dining experience that lived up to what an all-inclusive resort should offer. Service was even worse. Something as simple as room service would take hours—if it showed up at all. Requests were ignored, communication was terrible, and there was little sense of urgency from anyone. You’re essentially paying luxury prices for budget-level service. The rooms were outdated, poorly maintained, and nowhere near the standard Hyatt should be associated with. On top of that, the countless time restrictions and unnecessary rules made it feel more like being managed than being on vacation. For an all-inclusive resort, it was surprisingly inconvenient. The most disappointing part is that Hyatt allows this property to carry its name. This resort falls dramatically short of the quality, hospitality, and service people expect from the Hyatt brand. It’s wildly overpriced, poorly managed, and an absolute waste of money. Save yourself the frustration and book literally anywhere else. There are countless resorts that will treat you better, feed you better, and actually make you feel like you’re on vacation. Hyatt should be embarrassed to have this location representing its brand.

Some friends & I recently brought our Senior boys on a 5 night trip here & it exceeded all expectations! We were a group of 8 moms & 8 sons from Oklahoma. Ours boys had a great time! The activities with Eric in the pool everyday were so fun! Roger & Edwin were the most amazing, attentive servers to all of us. We very much enjoyed them & didn't want for anything. Juan, the lifeguard, was amazingly kind & helpful with a few slip & falls & some bug bites that happened. Addie was so much fun on the volleyball court & kept the games rolling. The resort itself was absolutely gorgeous! The pools, the landscaping, the activities (even when it was cloudy & windy 2 days) were outstanding! Thank you so much for such a great vacation! We cannot wait to go back!

We just finished a five night stay at the Breathless Riviera in Cancun. We travelled with another couple who were there to experience their first all inclusive experience. They definitely got to experience all that resort life has to offer! This review needs to highlight the OUTSTANDING staff at Breathless! Estephania (Stephanie) went above and beyond as our butler. The first night, we were in building 3 in a swim-up that was in a very busy spot. My husband preferred a room with the same amenities in a lower traffic area and she made sure we were accommodated and moved to building 5. This room change made our entire vacation much more enjoyable. That was just the beginning of all of the ways she provided 5+ star service. Our room was decorated for our anniversary, with a sweet, personal note from her, along with a cold bottle of champagne. She checked in with us several times a day to see if there was anything we needed. Stephanie, you are a marvel-thank you!! Adi, on the entertainment staff, has a personality larger than life! She, too, found us around the resort to see if there was anything needed. She would call out to us across the pool just to welcome us. She’s only been there a short time, what an amazing hire! Wow! Victor, what a gem! He got us chairs on the Exhale side each morning, cleaned our sunglasses, and even wrote a beautiful anniversary message for us in sand on our beach towel. He consistently checked in to see if he could get us anything at all. Best poolside service we have ever received in all the years we’ve been travelling. The famous duo, Edwin and Roger, serving on the Exhale side did not disappoint. Those two gentlemen were so friendly, courteous, caring, and hard-working. There are hardly words to describe how much they bring with their outstanding service. Even though they were constantly running to every guest at the chairs to bring food and drinks, they still would check in at our swim-up room to see if they could bring us anything. They don’t just make you feel like special guests, they treat you like family. We miss them already! Esmeralda was a lovely addition poolside with her sweet and sunny disposition. Keep up the great work with your trivia! The First-Aid team was working hard this past week, as there seemed to be frequent minor injuries. I took a fall down the theatre stairs and they were there within seconds. Thanks to the staff (and the guests) who tended to my injuries. The food, the drinks, the entertainment, and the restaurant service was all spectacular. A big shout out to the French restaurant for a delicious meal and such attention service. The purse tree was a great touch! The casino and silent disco were so fun! So many laughs and the energy was perfect! One night we stepped into the nightclub early and the music was from the 2010s which was super fun for guests of all ages and backgrounds. As the night went on, the music was tailored to a more specific demographic. Something to consider is that there really are no quiet areas to get away from the loud music. The pool music could even be heard at the beach (although not as loud) and often went well past 11 and sometimes until 4am. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience. The staff puts this resort in a class of its own! It should also be noted that every staff member we crossed paths with us greeted us, no matter the time of day. Well done!

The rooms are top notch and the service is excellent and the food was very good. Be careful with the buffet, because a few people got ill. The beach is public and okay and you can't swim too far out because of all of the boats and jet skis - it is not safe. All in all, I found the beach small and underwhelming. They will try and upsell you to the Xhale club and it isn't worth it - you get the rooftop pool, not much else However, if you book a laguna view room on a package holiday, if you upgrade at the resort to Xhale club - you can get an ocean view room for far less than pre booking. The hotel zone is very safe and heavily police patrolled, so you're safe to walk around day and night and night. Downtown Cancun is safe during the day and pretty safe during the night. If you venture outside of downtown it is not safe for tourists. However, I have swarthy skin and could pass for a local, so I ventured everywhere with no problems by only speaking Spanish and not dressing like a tourist. I loved Cancun and I will be back. The Breathless was great, but very expensive. I may book cheaper resort next time, but I did have a great time at the Breathless.
