The Sarann sits at the end of Chaweng Noi beach, with stunning views all the way across to Chaweng. When we booked, we were looking for a hotel that felt a little more authentic to Thailand - not the sterile white walls of the usual luxury chains. We had a little villa with our own pool, that sat right on sea front. Room 110. It was a little dated, yes. But only in so much as it could do with the walls rubbing down and lick of paint. The bed was firm and comfortable, with amazing views to wake up to. The little pool was perfect to cool off in, although a couple of the tiles were loose it didn't cause us any problems. It was my birthday whilst we were there and we had a beautiful display on the bed for both our arrival, and on my birthday 💚 Restaurant & Food. We had breakfast included, which is a buffet style. There is an egg station where they will make you whatever you would like. I loved the different thai option each day, but would have liked a little more fruit options. Again, not something that was a problem. Location. As long as you have done your research, you will know that The Sarann sits on the main ring road. The hotel offers a shuttle to Central Samui and Fisherman's Village which we found really handy. In terms of walking anywhere, you will struggle as there isn't a path that would allow you to walk on the road. You could walk up the beach and through one of the resorts though. Again, we didn't find this to be an issue. We didn't experience excessive road noise. Services. - A really handy shuttle to Central Samui & Fishermans Village. We used this service alot, it is a great touch! - Spa. We didn't use it, but you can book on the day with two hours notice. - Restaurant. Breakfast buffet to get you started with your day. - Scooter hire. We didn't use them but they seemed popular with the other guests. Overall. The Sarann was everything we wanted it to be. Friendly staff, comfortable accommodation, and a little haven for us to relax in after a day of exploring. We had seen the recent negative reviews, and it made us nervous. Honestly, give this place a chance - we would definitely return 💚

Best location for girls trip.. secluded with quiet beach n infinity pool.. their inhouse restaurant was really good. All housekeeping staffs are very nice. Only drawback is that this hotel is far from popular tourist n market areas so every time u hv to spend 300 thai baht one way just to go to restaurant or nearby 7 eleven

The Sarann has been one if not the nicest place we’ve stayed in on our trip to Thailand! Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 3 nights and we were sad to leave! The room was STUNNING; it had a jacuzzi bath AND a jacuzzi hot tub on the patio! The restaurant offered a great range of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the views are amazing! The infinity pool exposed the lovely beach right below the resort which had lots of bars and water sports available! We would definitely stay here again!!

Pros: The hotel was kind to make our honeymoon stay special by decorating the bed as shown in the photos. The room was clean and the hotel provided umbrellas in case it rained and a beach bag to go to sandy beach, the hotel only has a pool and a rocky beach. We used the jacuzzi and it was very relaxing. Breakfast was okay and the staff accommodated gluten intolerance. We found the staff to be helpful. They gave us a mosquito electric spray because our room had mosquitoes. Cons: If you cannot ride a bike or don’t want to take taxis, your movement is limited. However, there is a free shuttle service provided by the hotel. The rooms are close to each other and the walls are not soundproof so you can hear a lot of road noise because the hotel is by a highway. If you also have noisy neighbours, your vacation is ruined. The hotel does not do a good job of cleaning up common areas especially at the pool. There were bottles of beer and trash on the pool beds/tables. The rooms do not have a smart TV The WiFi is really bad. We could not use the one in our room and the reception told us to connect to nearby networks

So we came here for our honeymoon and at the time we booked it the reviews were quite good! And we got a really good price for 5 nights at the private pool villa. We were greeted with a beautiful honeymoon spread of flowers on our bed, and a full tub with flowers waiting for us. Here are a few of my thoughts after our stay! I think some of the other reviews, specifically the state of the rooms and the breakfast are a little unfair. I cannot speak to other rooms but from ours I understood the comments about it being dated… but I honestly thought it had a rustic charm! Nothing to be bothered about, and our furniture was sturdy enough! The breakfast had a great selection honestly! We stayed in many other hotels in SEA, and this was pretty standard breakfast. They had an espresso machine, and an egg station with someone that could cook your eggs any way you like. Like I said, I can’t speak to the other rooms, but I will say our private pool villa was absolutely worth every penny!!! We used the pool about 2-4 times a day, always refreshing and such a beautiful view of the Samui coast and ocean. It may not technically have a “beach front”, but you walk up like 5 minutes and you have a lovely beach right there. Our room was far away from the road so no sounds bothered us, it was very quiet. If you’re out late in the pools, you can even see some of the fire shows happening further away on the beach at night. A couple of slightly negatives… I thought the staff wasn’t the most helpful or friendly… didn’t really greet you when you came in, didn’t seem like they really wanted to help you out… would’ve been nice to have a beer or wine opener in the rooms or even in the hotel they could bring to the room. Lastly, our hotel is somewhat isolated from other areas. As long as you’re fine paying for grabs (which were quite pricey on Koh Samui) or renting a motor bike, it’s hard to get around and access food. But kind of nice being away from the crazy. In terms of cleanliness, our tub wasn’t the most clean… it had some grime on the sides and bottom that I cleaned myself with a couple of Lysol wipes. I’m sure if I had asked the staff they would’ve cleaned it themselves though, I just didn’t want to wait. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Sarann.
