The fives ocean front Puerto Morelos is almost perfect ..... First the service and staff are outstanding. Mariel, Diego, Rodrigo, and stepheny in Marley's kitchen were fantastic. The exterior facilities pools beaches restaurants gym bars are all top notch. The hotel is a small boutique but has more than enough activities for everyone two beautiful clean pools. A beach that has nets and a crew to clean the seaweed that is invading much of the Caribbean. The beach does have biting ants and their are mosquitos so bring bug spray. Otherwise Plenty of cabanas and chairs and great service . The food at Marley's was great. Drinks were weak but they are usually dealing with all inclusive crowd so that's not a surprise. Spa was great with incredible massages. and we even enjoyed a sound bath meditation something I've never done. Everything was priced well not cheap but not expensive The problem is the rooms. We stayed in room 510. Ocean view suite with balcony and jetted tub. While pretty on the outside and at first glance some details underwhelm and undermine the 5 star aspirations a faint smell of mildew throughout the property and hallways, poor paint jobs on finishes, cheap materials on closets, linens with holes including on blankets and day beds on the balcony. Balcony Jacuzzi needed it's jets cleaned, but also being slow to warm and with weak pressure and painted over controls. We had to have our air conditioner worked on 3x and our room was never cool. Our sliding door to the balcony handle broke and it jammed open unable to close letting in mosquitos and heat. Maintenance did respond quickly. So in short a fantastic hotel with one glaring issue room maintainince. Room cleanliness was excellent and the staff cleaning dona great job. Lastly the town of Puerto Morelos is amazing quaint filled with locals and a far cry from Cancun. Must trys are Puerto Knaa, pirata, and the speakeasy

My stay at The Fives Hotel was marvelous! Its location is perfect. Right at the beach and in walking distance to cute shops & cafés. The room was spacious, comfortable, with a fantastic firm bed. The restaurant was delicious and had beautiful ocean views. But the best part of my stay was the hotel’s staff. Erika was my personal concierge and organized fantastic trips for me. She made sure my every wish was fulfilled. Mariel took great care of me as well. And Francisco, the restaurant manager, made sure I was always happy providing me with exceptional food choices. Thank you, Erika, Mariel and Francisco for being the wonderful humans that you are!

Maybe I don't know what to look for in an all-inclusive 5-star resort, or maybe it varies by location, but this was not it. I'm genuinely disappointed this was my first 5-star stay because I've had better experiences at properties with lower ratings. Room & noise: Zero peace and quiet, day or night. Myself and other guests noted the constant sound of furniture being moved around somewhere in the building. I flagged it to the concierge and nothing was done about it, not even offering a different room. Broken contract: A free excursion was written into my booking. I emailed them 72 hours before check in to book my excursion and received a response that I have to wait to book at check-n. Ok. At check-in I tried to book an excursion and was told they had to wait until enough guests booked to send out as a group. Totally fine. That never happened across the five days I was there. Service gaps: The rooftop adult-only deck went without a bartender for most of my stay. Guests at the hotel were taking turns getting everyone's order and going down to the first floor to get refills on drinks and water. It took a wave of complaints before they finally staffed it for one afternoon. Meanwhile, trash had accumulated on the bar and deck, evidence that staff weren't even cleaning the rooftop. Dining was the biggest letdown: The restaurant hours and info they give you are wrong on nearly every level. I booked this resort specifically for the ceviche and sushi and there was zero sushi the entire stay. When asking about this, I was told I'd booked "out of season"....in June. The menus never vary and it was the same dishes every single night. Ro Marley is not open every night, and three of my five nights, my only options were a terrible Italian restaurant or room service. Pricing was sketchy: A group of six of us compared notes and every one of us had been quoted different prices for excursions, room service, and the spa. I was charged twice for a single room service order I placed once. Broken amenities: The hot tubs on the patios don't work. Another issue the group of six of us compared experiences on. What was good: A handful of menu items were genuinely tasty but the same meals get old 5 days in a row. The staff were friendly overall. The area outside the hotel is walkable and has some options for food and shopping. Unfortunately, none of that makes up for broken contracts, blatantly false advertising of what they offer, inconsistent charges, and under staffing at every turn. This isn't a 5-star property, and I won't be returning or recommending it.

I cannot recommend this place enough! First off upon arrival we were greeted warmly by the staff at The 5’s Oceanfront and it was the start to a great relaxing trip. Shortly after we met an amazing staff member named Erica. She was part of the team that helps you lay out your schedule for the time that you are a guest there. She helped us book excursions and was there 24/7 our entire trip to help us have a customized stay to our liking. She gave us many recommendations for things like secluded beaches, places in Puerto Morelos for good food outside of the resort, places to shop, ect. the list goes on and on. I cannot say enough praise that will capture how much help she was for our wonderful anniversary trip. Everything was top notch at the 5’s. We rented a car in Cancun and it was extremely easy each day to have them grab our car out of valet. We loved that we were able to have a car there and were not charged a fee for having it there on sight. Surprisingly we pretty much had the place to ourselves. There were always so many beach chairs on the beach to lay out in and the pool hardly ever had people in it. They have an adult only rooftop pool that had the most stunning views as well. Both of the pools are beautiful infinity pools with picture perfect views. Our room and everything on the grounds was amazingly beautiful. The staff went above and beyond daily. I cannot say enough good stuff about this place and the staff. We are big world travelers and my husband even had two specific dinner items that he said were top 5 ever for that specific food item, (the lasagna and the ossobuco). All the food was extremely good, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was so nice having all food and drinks be unlimited, as we didn’t have to worry about the bill at the end of each bar run, coffee run, breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert run. The town for shopping was a quick 10 minute walk by beach or road. The entire trip we felt completely safe, as there were national guards all over the place in town, which made us feel safe. My husband and I are not usually resort people, but we would stay at The 5’s Oceanfront again 100%. The 5’s Oceanfront in Puerto Morelos was such a wonderful little hidden gem in between Cancun and Playa Del Carmen. We will definitely be back!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THE FIVES OCEANFRONT PUERTO MORELOS. We checked out just one day ago, and this was one of the biggest vacation disappointments we’ve ever had. The sargassum was so bad that the smell of rotten eggs wasn’t just on the beach—you could smell it from our room. The beach and shoreline were covered in seaweed, making it impossible to enjoy what is supposed to be the main reason people come here. I’ve included photos from our stay so others can see exactly what we experienced. We understand that sargassum is a natural problem, but what made this trip even worse was how the resort handled it. The staff was rude, dismissive, and acted as if our concerns didn’t matter. We felt like once they had our money, they had no interest in helping or making our stay better. Please don’t make the same mistake we did. If you’re coming to this area this year for beautiful beaches and clear Caribbean water, stay away from The Fives Oceanfront Puerto Morelos. Instead, take the ferry to Isla Mujeres and stay at Ixchel Beach Hotel. The difference is unbelievable—crystal-clear turquoise water, beautiful white sand, friendly staff who greet you with a smile, and a much better overall experience at a very reasonable price. We wish someone had warned us before we booked. Hopefully this review saves someone else from making the same mistake.
