Exceeded my expectations. Not sure what it looked like before the renovation, but it is such an attractive hotel. Everything you envision of what a cool, chill, boutique Manhattan hotel would look like, except that it’s a Marriott. Front desk was awesome, the room was perfect size and beautiful. Lobby, bar, and dining area was so beautiful. Staff was sweet to provide me with toothpaste. For the affordable price I paid it was perfect @$1100. Only one elevator was working during my stay so hopefully the second one will be repaired soon. Also caution that they charge additional $45 a night for you to use in the hotel even if you don’t use it.

The Algonquin is our favorite hotel in New York City and has been for the last 15 years. The things that keep us coming back are the staff and the quality of service. This was exemplified on this most recent trip by the performance of Front Desk Agent, Maria Infante. Ms. Infante did her usual outstanding job of warmly welcoming us back, of making sure our every need was taken care of and of helping plan for our next visit in October! The location works perfectly for our annual trips to Broadway and the American Ballet Theatre. Most Broadway show are in walking distance. Recent renovations have the hotel rooms and suites looking better than they have in years!

We loved our stay at the Algonquin! The room was clean and comfortable! 5 star service from the staff! We expected it to be loud because you are close to Times Square and it just being the city in general, but it was very quiet! I highly recommend staying at the Algonquin if you are staying in NYC

I have mixed feelings about our stay at The Algonquin. On the positive side, the staff was incredibly friendly and the location is hard to beat, you are truly in the heart of everything. However, the room itself left a lot to be desired for $850/night. The noise cancellation is almost non-existent; we heard every car horn from the street at all hours of the day. The amenities were also surprisingly sparse, no coffee maker, microwave, or mini-fridge in the room (we had to request the fridge). Most disappointing was the "suite" bathroom, which was a cramped 28 sq. ft. (see layout). While we loved the team, the price-to-comfort ratio just isn't there. We’ll likely look elsewhere for our next NYC trip.

Recently stayed for 3 nights at The Algonquin. Beautiful historic hotel just off Bryant Park. I had a rental car that I was going to need later in the trip and they had valet parking…great right? The valet guy then told me that it was $95 with no in/out privileges and that was going to get pricey as I was going to need to take the car a couple of times. Then he told me he would make me a deal. Pay him $60 cash and I could take it whenever I want. Sounded like a good deal so I paid him. Then when I came back with the car he said I would need to pay each of the 3 valets $60. Still a better deal so I did it. Then two days later he said that I needed to pay each of the 3 valets $60 each PER DAY!! He seemed to have forgotten to mention that up front and I told him that was sketchy as hell. Spoke with the hotel manager who said that was normal. That’s messed up! We argued and he gave me back $60 of the $120 that I had paid and was visibly annoyed. So dumb of me to fall for that crap and it ruined the whole stay. Will NEVER be back. It’s a Marriott Autograph collection and I’ve always enjoyed those but never again here. Sketchy place.
