★★★★★ We had a great stay at Hotel Edison. While the building has a classic and historic feel, it is well maintained and very comfortable. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and the cleanliness throughout the hotel was excellent. The location is simply unbeatable. Being right in Times Square meant that everything was within walking distance, including many of New York’s most famous attractions, restaurants, and subway connections. If we return to New York in the future, we would happily stay here again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an excellent location and a comfortable stay in the heart of the city.

I’m writing a comment on the behalf of my parents who stayed in your hotel this week. My parents do not speak English and at first they were very well treated until the end of the stay. They needed help to understand where the shuttle will pick them up, as they should have been picked up from the hotel. My mum was begging the front desk to take the call she was on, as she could not understand properly. The person Marco, Spanish and French speaking, who literally told them he will not help them if they don’t ask him to call a taxi. How dare you? How could you make people that uncomfortable, and thanks to the security guard who spoke French they had been helped after 15 min of stress. They tried to do everything in English with the little they have, can you understand that not everyone have the possibility to learn or to be taught English. They had a very great stay and they loved it, it has been wonderful but the last event is just awful. Treating people like that ?? you should be ashamed of yourself. Someone is asking you for help, you are at the front desk, they are clients. I will not recommend this hotel if nothing is addressed to that person.

Just stayed at the Edison with 10 others to celebrate a birthday and had a 4 day stay. Reception staff in the main are polite as are the security. The location is brilliant, just around from Time Square. Rooms are clean, comfortable but dated and asked for a room change as the room I had was very noisy with air conditioning Units outside. The replacement room was no better. My main gripe was a very rude luggage handler and should be nowhere near dealing with hotel guests. I stood there with my luggage taking my turn to be seen to. Hesaid to me that I need to communicate better. I challenged him and stated its obvious that im waiting for him or another handler to take my cases from me to place in the luggage store. He just became even more rude and very obnoxious. Awful person.

I've stayed at Hotel Edison multiple times. I keep coming back because the location is supreme. There is so much negativity regarding Time Square in general, but I am a fan! Yes, it's over the top in many ways but I love that about it! I do not find the prices for hotels or restaurants to be above anywhere else in NYC. This visit I stayed 4 nights and went to 4 shows. To be able to walk out of my room and be at a show within minutes is perfection! This visit was just my friend and I (females) We did not want to bother with the subway at night. We would leave before show time and stop for dinner on our way to the theater and then stop for a drink on the way home. So many options! The hotel also has multiple places for eats and drinks which is convenient and we actually liked all of them. Our room was spacious (it was a suite) and clean and the beds were comfy. My husband and I stayed last time in the classic room and yes it was much smaller but he and I had much less luggage than my friend and I and we didnt need as much getting ready space so that worked out just fine for us. The water pressure was good in the shower which matters a lot to me. You have to show your room key to access the elevators (they checked every time even once they recognized us) which is a nice safety touch. There is luggage check if you arrive before your room is ready- but check in if you are early to see if your room is ready, ours was. I just got back but I am already ready to go back and will for sure check Hotel Edison for availability for my next trip! The photo is just a few minute walk from our room

I don't even know where to start... On the first day of our arrival, they gave us one of the loudest room they have I think (and we precisely asked in advance to have the most quiet one there was), right outside the window there was an air conditioning system which made it impossible to sleep at night. We asked for a room change and we moved to a quieter one. One afternoon we came back early and we found the bathroom entirely flooded, if we hadn't came back sooner I believe we would've found the entire room filled with water. Another bad aspect is the breakfast which is “included” and I think I need to clarify what that word means for them. If you sit in one place you have to pay an additional $ 6,50 each person (which is a crazy policy, do I ruin the chairs if I sit down?) and the other place is a grab & go, you are treated like an homeless person by the employees, probably because you don't pay and you can only choose from a very restricted selection of things (none of them gluten free, there's yogurt and fruits but what if I want something different? In Europe you have a vast selection of international food to choose from and that, for me, means "breakfast included"). Another thing that I saw mentioned in other reviews and that I also want to point out is the security at the entrance: you should feel welcomed when you come back after a long day out... well, first thing you have to do is show them the room key and tell them how many people are with you, it's like an airport checkpoint. Same thing goes for when you first arrive: we found a very long line to check-in at the front desk, it never happened to me in other hotels. You're exhausted from a very long journey and you also have to queue at the hotel? Not very welcoming. If you want to have a stressful bunch of days this is the right place for you. The good position is not even worth it since it's too chaotic.
