My fiance and I had an amazing time at this resort! The service was great, people constantly asking us how our stay is and if we needed anything. The room was immaculate and cleaned within a few hours of us leaving to go to the pool every morning. The resort itself is beautiful. Food was delicious, easy to make reservations on the app, taco stand open super late, and our food at most restaurants came out shockingly quickly! Some highlights: - The live music at the covered area over looking the pool at night was spectacular. Very romantic and the musicians/singers were extremely talented. - The canvas bag painting in the same covered area was so fun, the women helping out were a joy. - Saul, the waiter at the French restaurant, was so kind and funny. He made our experience so enjoyable that night! - Our first night we didn’t have a dinner reservation but tried to put our name down for a table anyways and were told they’d have a table open in less than an hour! - Transportation to and from the airport as well as to and from the Xplor park (very fun) were seamless Reasons it’s not a 5 star rating yet: - We really wish the pools were open later than 6:30 since it’s an adults only resort - The coupons they give you upon check-in require you to spend a large amount of money for them to be useful. Massages are pretty pricey so $40 off isn’t a great deal - The ocean had lots of sargassum but we knew this when we booked for this time of year. Not the resort’s fault, but just a heads up if you’re wanting to spend time in the ocean!

This was our third stay at a Secrets resort, having previously visited Secrets Akumal and Secrets Jamaica, and once again, Secrets exceeded our expectations. This trip was especially memorable as we traveled with a large group to celebrate a birthday, and collectively we all had a fantastic experience. The food was excellent throughout the resort, and the drink selection was outstanding, with premium top-shelf liquors, great cocktails, and plenty of mocktail options. Our favorite restaurants were Bamboo and Allora, both of which delivered exceptional meals and service. We also loved grabbing a fresh pizza from the Barefoot Grill for a midday snack by the pool. A special thank you to Gustavo at the pool, who was always attentive, friendly, and eager to help. Daniella also did an amazing job leading activities and keeping guests engaged throughout the day. During our stay, my wife injured her finger on one of the pool beds. What stood out most was how caring and attentive the entire Secrets team was afterward. Multiple staff members checked in on her throughout our stay to make sure she was okay and to see if there was anything they could do to help. That level of genuine hospitality did not go unnoticed. Overall, this was another wonderful Secrets experience, and it certainly won’t be our last. The Secrets journey continues—hopefully our next stop will be Secrets Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic!

Very good service. Wait staff all very polite, efficient. Pool Bartenders good. One standout was Francisco at Bisou, the French restaurant. He's exceptional, as was everything about Bisou. We went back twice due to the quality of the food, service and atmosphere. We knew the beach was not noteworthy before we went, so we weren't disappointed. We were still able to walk the beach, just didn't get in the water due to sargassum. We LOVE Secrets Akumal and said that other than the beach, we would rank this right up there with Akumal.

We just got back from a trip with friends. This resort has it all! Several beautiful pools (with and without swim up bars) ranging from fun/high energy to calm and relaxing. High end rooms with thoughtful amenities and a very nice shower. The food was delicious (seriously so good) and the staff was friendly and helpful. The activity team were all so fun and made sure we had a great time playing volleyball, water polo, water aerobics, etc. (Special shout out to Jessica, Miquel, Sergio, Ilsa, Axel & Jose!) We will return based on how comfortable the beds were, quality of the food and the general beauty of the resort.

The resort is beautiful. The location is just okay. Hear me out. I was there for 4 days. I was a solo room occupant for a family wedding with a group of 30. The bad and the good. First, they “cannot guarantee room preference”. Then what is the purpose of a reservation. I wanted a king size bed. I got two full size beds. Score = 0. Second, it’s not “all inclusive”, it’s mostly inclusive. Up charges for steaks, beach cabanas, wine, special restaurant experiences. There are no water activities. Third, typical resort BS where people “reserve” beach and pool chairs and do not occupy them. If you head out at 10 AM, there’s almost nowhere to sit. Fourth, the main pool bar was severely understaffed. It literally took me 15 to 20 minutes to get one drink. And I still gave them a tip, but it didn’t matter when you came back. Two bartenders trying to take care of everybody and restock, wash glasses, there was no bar back. The beach: the beach is severely lackluster. It’s not very big, there’s tons of seaweed, they remove the seaweed all day, but you get to listen to the four wheeler and the tractor all day. Not very relaxing. The water itself is rocky and it’s not good for ocean swimming. If you want a good beach, go to Aruba, Bavaro Beach in the Dominican Republic, or seven Mile Beach in Jamaica. The good: The food was very good. There are five restaurants for dinner. I was only there three nights so I could only eat at two of them and the food was very good. The third night was for the wedding and we had a catered meal on the rooftop, which is also very good. The service: except for the pool bartenders, the rest of the staff was outstanding. The room: I had a couple of maintenance issues with my room that were taken care of in a timely manner. OK, but should’ve been fixed before I got there. The mini fridge: the only had am still ultra in the fridge. This is my fourth trip to Mexico, and this is the worst beer I’ve ever had. The technology: I didn’t like that I had to use my phone as my room key. I didn’t like leaving my phone by itself when I went to the pool. I didn’t know that getting a key card was an option because it was an offered to me when I checked in. The resort app would not allow me to order room service at night. I had to use my phone, but the phone didn’t work, it took them a day to fix the phone. The resort map was not completely accurate. It showed some of the facilities essentially out in the jungle/parking lot. The resort property is fantastic, there’s several different pools, some of them are intimate for a small group, the only downside is that the pools close at 6 PM The speakeasy nightclub is fantastic. The 24 hour coffee shop with pastries and ice cream was also very good. For the cost of a single occupancy room of $720 a night, I will never return. And this is soured me to ever going to a secrets again.
