Visited for 10 days and had an amazing time with my family. It was 7 of us total. We enjoyed it all. Pools, beach (there was some sargassum but they were cleaning it everyday and they did a great job. It was probably the cleanest beach in the area). The drinks at Avenue Bar were excellent. The Italian restaurant Il Piemonte was delicious and had great service. El Gaucho has delicious steaks. Chef Francisco came out to greet us as well. He gave us a few samples of his empanadas which are not on the menu and they were Phenomenal. The best waitress, hand down, from the entire resort was Daniela from El Gaucho. Phenomenal service from her!!! We would mostly have lunch at the outdoor buffet by the beach and pools. Very convenient and great selection. We had great service from Karen there as well.

Restaurante Frances with Yamilet, Mariano and Nelsy will be my morning stop every day of the week for breakfast this vacation. The service was excellent with such kind attentive staff. Mucho Gracias mi amigos! So happy I was able to do the Spanish lessons and aqua gym with Claudia on the entertainment team, she is so fun! Looking forward to participating in more poolside activities with more team members during my stay. Loved having Betti in the international buffet for a few of our lunches. She was very funny and lovely to speak with. Even more so that she had recognized us each time and that is so welcoming when you are remembered by staff! Our last morning of the trip and couldn’t be happier having the team we did for breakfast. Huge thank you to Yamilet, Rodolfo, Nelsi, Mariano and Capitana Janet as a send off making it just a little bit easier with having to go home! Until next time Sandos Playacar ❤️❤️ I can’t forget Estela!!! She was such a wonderful host for our member upgrade presentation and look forward to seeing her and the entire staff again next year! 🏝️😊

We had a wonderful breakfast experience thanks to Karen and Rodolfo at Le Gourmet. They were attentive, polite, and consistently made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Their friendly and professional service made us feel welcome and well taken care of from start to finish. They truly helped make our breakfast enjoyable, and we appreciate the excellent hospitality. Thank you, Karen and Rodolfo!

The best 3 things about this resort: 1) ocean/beach - amazing!; 2) beds & pillows - super!; and 3) bread at the buffet. "Select Superior Adults Only" room was a step up from a Super 8 but not as nice as standard all inclusives. 5 gallon jug of water on a stand at room temp in place of bottled water in fridge. Ocean was amazing, crystal clear and 100 yards out was just above waist so no swimming ability needed but beware: SEA LICE! Stood in restaurants for 10 min waiting for someone to show up. Buffet was worst food I've had at all inclusives in 20 years. Bar & bartenders on beach were excellent. Food on beach was not excellent. Ketchup didn't quite taste like ketchup. Hot dogs didn't quite taste like hot dogs, wings were tasteless and cold. No reservations could be made for dinners as they were sold out until after our stay. Not well run but the ocean was wonderful and I'd return just for that.

I, absolutely, love this resort. We have been many times since 2010. The are constant upgrades to the facilities. Rooms are comfortable and spacious, love the addition specialty restaurants (make sure you book as soon as possible). Spa is refreshing spot to take a break. The afternoon/evening taco and burritos restaurant satisfies the cravings for authentic taste of Mexico. One of my favourites is the Cupcake café but I am a bit bias as I love most things coffee related. Not too far from many excursions or from 5ave (popular shopping area). Highlight of this trip is one of the servers from the Festival Hall, Mr. Rigo. A very lovely man with a fantastic memory for faces. He recognized my husband from our last trip and makes a point of making sure every night is a very enjoyable experience. He even got us something special for our anniversary. Thank-You, Mr. Rigo and Sandos. Improvements could be more attention to the private pools for skimming debris from the water, the railing by main pool (59 on the map) is really loose and at the top of the stairs at the Royal Elite family pool (61 on the map) is very slippery on the top of the stairs leading to the square beds, I did see a few people slip there.
