Here's a draft for your review: ​ I have been visiting this hotel since 2017 and have always had an amazing experience—until 2023. I decided to give it another chance in 2024, but I had the worst experience imaginable. There was a complete lack of staff during my stay, and I went over 12 hours without any food options, with what was available being very limited. What makes this even more troubling is the significant amount of money I spent to be there, yet there was no management present to address these issues or take accountability for the poor service. I am truly disappointed and cannot recommend this hotel based on my recent experience.

Nice experience using the gym. A few recommendations: Needs curl bars, regular weight bench. The resort was great! Very clean, also restrooms throughout the resort were very clean. Polite and attentive staff. Especially Dorrett the butler, she is amazing! She went above and beyond to make our stay easy, she is helpful in every way. She needs a pay raise! She is very personable, knowledgeable about the resort, attentive, kind, she was there for us whatever we needed. She checked on us often. The bus from the airport to the resort was smooth, but there were multiple stops to other resorts so it took an hour and a half to get to our resort. But the drive and view was nice. Our driver to our excursion (Jamwest) was driving WAY too fast. At times it felt a bit unsafe. The laundry should be a set price. However, they charge you for each piece of clothing. For example: $3 for a shirt, $7 for a pair of pants, and so on. Literally, for each piece of clothing, which was shocking. The resort is family friendly. There were no big parties or clubs. The spa was amazing! The couple massage on the beach was a great experience, I would definitely recommend the spa treatment. All in all, my husband and I had a beautiful time here. We would definitely recommend Royalton Negril Resort.

The Royalton Negril is everything you want an all-inclusive to be. It has the best beaches, service, people, food, and coffee. I treated myself to Diamond Club. Every morning, I'd be the first one waiting for the coffee shop to open and would take one back to my room to enjoy my ocean view, followed by my daily snorkel on the reef. I took full advantage of the free kayaks and stand-up paddle boards. I treated myself to a catamaran snorkeling excursion to Rick's Cafe, where I jumped off the cliffs and watched the sunset. I was in bed most nights by 10pm and eager to start my day by 6am so I can't speak much about the evening entertainment. I came in off season and it was exactly what I needed, quiet. My butler's Tianna and Dean and their manager Delray were very friendly and attentive to my needs. They really go that extra mile for their guests and make you feel at home. Andrew the cabana "boy" was so kind, and wonderful at his job, working long hours in the hot sun making sure the guests stay hydrated and fed. He was so caring when I got stung by a jellyfish and provided first aid. I really appreciated his professionalism. I will certainly be back!

Royalton Negril had a mix of great highlights and some disappointing aspects. The scenery is beautiful, and we really enjoyed the casino, drinks, and the entertainment crew—they did a fantastic job keeping things fun especially at night. The spa was excellent, and the jewelry store staff were outstanding, friendly, helpful, and professional. Unfortunately, the rooms and property felt outdated and didn’t match the luxury vibe the resort advertises. The food was subpar, and dining options were limited since restaurant reservations were already fully booked. We went in the off season in September so it was confusing how the minute we checked in we were only left with 1 reservation option for dinner for 1 night of our 5 day stay. Adult-only areas (casino and bars) were small and the staff in those environments were particularly unpleasant, and there was only one pool, which was usually crowded with kids during the day. The beach was also smaller than expected. One major downside was the excursion crew—they were VERY pushy and overwhelming, which took away from the relaxing atmosphere. As someone who has taken a few trips to a few different countries in the Caribbean -- I can respect the hustle, but nothing has compared to the discomfort I felt in Jamaica for this specific reason. Overall, the resort & spa staff, entertainment, and views were strong positives, but improvements are needed in room updates, food quality, adult spaces, and overall crowd management.

⭐ 1 STAR REVIEW – DO NOT STAY HERE ⭐ Royalton Negril completely mishandled my reservation, double-charged me, and tried to blame ME for their own fraud. I had one of the WORST hotel experiences of my life at this property. At check-in, their staff charged one of my company cards for the room. Immediately after taking the money, the front desk claimed they had to “void” the transaction because the name on the card didn’t match my ID. Then they demanded cash instead. I paid in full again. Guess what? The original card charge was NEVER voided. The hotel kept BOTH payments. To make the situation even worse: • They never gave me a cash receipt • They submitted paperwork to my bank using MY ID to deny the chargeback • They admitted the double charge internally but still refused to fix it • They then demanded personal ID from my employee, who NEVER stayed there, as a stall tactic • Their “customer service” team dragged this out for weeks with excuses and runarounds This is CLEAR mishandling of funds and completely unprofessional for a resort operating under the Marriott umbrella. I now have to involve agencies because Royalton refuses to correct a mistake THEY caused. I will be formally reporting this incident to: • Jamaica Consumer Affairs Commission (CAC) • Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) • Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association (JHTA) • Marriott Corporate / Autograph Collection Oversight • U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for deceptive business practices • My bank’s fraud division with full documentation Royalton Negril should be ashamed of how they treat paying guests. I travel frequently, and I’ve NEVER dealt with a resort that mishandled money like this and then tried to gaslight the customer. If you value your peace, your money, and your security: STAY FAR AWAY.
