Amazing resort, though and through. The staff are absolutely INCREDIBLE at what they do! Food, amazing. Drinks, amazing. Atmosphere, amazing. View, amazing. Things to do, amazing. Even after a hurricane, they are providing YOU an AMAZING time on vacation and I can't be anything but grateful for it. Thank you so much for another amazing time, we will be back. One Love

Simply gorgeous, we had a penthouse with the ocean view. Lots of stairs. Food was great. Drinks great. The staff was very nice. Only thing that was bothering. The palazzo….. restaurant takes entirely too long to get your dinner. Even with a couple of tables full.

We had a great experience at Couples San Souci as first timers at a Couples resort. Even though Jamaica had recently had the cat 5 hurricane, you wouldn't have known it at the resort. They did an awesome clean up. Service was excellent and the food was very good. We spent all our days at the au natural pool and beach and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. My only suggestion to Couples would be to take better control of the activities at the au natural pool as there were several repeaters as a group that played pool volleyball all afternoon essentially taking up most of the pool when pool volleyball was only supposed to be for an hour. Some folks would also prefer to float in the pool or just socialize and it was more difficult with volleyball going on all afternoon. . Also if you were laying on the pool chairs on the pool deck you were at risk of being hit with the ball. The resort could also come up with some more creative activities or contests for couples rather than just trivia and have resort merch. as prizes. Overall we had a great experience and will return.

For a short and sweet review to begin - I would not recommend this resort to anyone, but specifically for honeymooners. As an all inclusive experience as a whole, I would not recommend this resort, and the overall reasoning why would be the accessibility of it. For starters, I will go over the positives of my wife and I's stay - it was our honeymoon, and our travel agent recommended couples for the smaller resort layout and intimate atmosphere. I will say that this resort did have a very intimate atmosphere, it wasn't too large, and there were not too many other couples at the resort or at least in once place at once. We absolutely had our time together, which made it special. Secondly, the scenery was absolutely out of this world. The clear water, the foliage and exotic plants and animals were all incredible, especially when if you are like us and come from miles of corn fields around your town. As far as positives, unfortunately that is where my praise ends, and those are the reasons I am giving this resort 2 stars. As for the negatives; to begin, just arriving on the resort, we were offloaded our bus from the airport along with our luggage and stood at check-in waiting for what we should do next. People and staff walked by for several minutes before we were instructed where to go for check in. Once we got to the lobby (which was admittedly close and just down the path we were dropped off at, we were told to sit and wait, were offered champagne (a nice touch) and were promptly checked into our room. We then waited for concierge to assist with our bags, where the staff member alone could not carry our bags and I was asked to carry one myself. I thought it was odd but blew it off. Being at the resort, once the views and scenery wear off, I and my wife both felt like we were a nuisance to the staff. I very much try my best to give people the benefit of the doubt, and I absolutely don't expect people to be smiling 24/7, especially while working, but several times we would pass a staff member and smile and say hello, only to be stared at, or in some cases, angrily looked at. We both constantly felt like the staff were either so indifferent in our experience that they did not want to acknowledge us, or felt as if we were such an inconvenience to them that they refused to acknowledge us. We chose this resort for the intimacy for a honeymoon, and while the atmosphere was an intimate one, several times we looked at each other and verbally said that it didnt feel like a true honeymoon. The only acknowledgment we had got from the resort for us celebrating our recent marriage was a small certificate congratulating us on being married, and a plate of cheese delivered to our room. None of the staff asked why we were on vacation, at the resort, or why we chose the resort. I didn't expect a red carpet by any means, but something just to make it feel special and different from any other trip would have been nice. The food was okay at best. The breakfast buffet had a decent amount of options and you are absolutely bound to find something you enjoy, but the main staple high-dining restaurant Cassanova was a major letdown. We both ordered rack of lamb and salmon respectively, and both were extremely well done and even overcooked, after the experience we did not go back. Our favorite eat was the beach side restaurant for lunch, but the menu was decently limited to the point we ordered the same dishes a few times while we were there. The largest gripe I had was the accessibility of this resort. As an all inclusive, we are going in with the mindset that we are paying for everything up front, but on this trip this was not the case, as although we did pay monetarily for everything up front, we did not pay in time for everything up front. We, for the life of us, could not get our mini fridge stocked with drinks for days, and finally a day until we left we got our drink orders. Room service regularly took 1.5 - 2 hours to fulfill as well. Admittedly I have a few more issues with our stay, but an unable to convey them in one review.

Where do I start? This resort is advertised as a 5 star property and it would be generous giving it a 3. The resort is old and tired and badly in need of upgrades. To start with a few positives: airport pick up was organized with no issues.(be prepared for a 2 hour drive in traffic). Check in was very welcoming and organized including luggage delivery to our room. Our king size bed was very comfortable. The grounds are absolutely spectacular and well kept. For the most part staff were wonderful. Carol who makes the breakfast omelettes is a joy! New Year’s Eve celebrations were fabulous and very well done. The cocktail party, main event and entertainment were extraordinary despite the weather not cooperating. The Bella Vista restaurant was consistently good with wonderful service. Now for the negatives: we expected so much more of the buildings, pools, beach and food after looking at the pics on their website. The buildings are tired and in need of renovations. Our room needed a deep clean right down to mildew in the shower. When you reserve you get an email as to what you would like stocked in your complimentary mini bar. When we arrived our choices were not present. We reached out to the front desk, we used their app, we spoke to beverage staff and finally the day before we left we were able to get some of what we requested. Unfortunately some of the bottles had been previously opened so therefore we did not consume them for obvious reasons. We mostly used the AN pool and beach. The pool and hot tub maintenance were lacking. Most days you could not see through the cloudy water to the bottom of the hot tub. The lounge chairs are equipped with floatie type pads. They were filthy and covered in mildew. The pool bar always ran out of plastic glasses. By mid day everything was served in a tumbler including wine. The selection of drinks were limited when they ran out of stock and there were no non alcohol beers to be had. The beach was intermittently raked but garbage persisted in the sand. Food: breakfast is served buffet style with an omelette station in Palazzina. It is repetitious and unless you get an omelette items in the chafing dishes are lukewarm at best. It is the same food daily. Staff don’t work as a team. You may get a coffee cup when you sit down but getting it filled with coffee is another story. The higher end Casanova restaurant was a total disappointment. The menu is fabulous and the food is tasty; however, the food was consistently cold and the service was either slow or non existent. The restaurant was consistently obviously short staffed. The gym is small and cramped due to it being relocated as the original facility has structural damage. This is understandable however the equipment is very dated and needs to be replaced. Most of the issues we encountered were brought up to senior staff yet after an 8 day stay we noticed no improvement to even the basic issues. This resort was a very expensive 3 star experience. Overall it is a one and done for us.
