For the price and stars one would expect a better service oriented hotel. The hotel moved its reception from west side to east side without proper signs. We came from east port and went with all our luggage to west. The clerks in reception were not nice nor informative. Restaurant employees are managed inefficiently. Location is great. Hot water like no other place in Thailand. Facilities are nice. SPA is very good. The only exception to the above was a girl name Tumtang, a waitress in restaurant, who was very service oriented, very smily, pleasent, nice, informative and efficient. She made our stay feel much better. We stayed 3 nihhts and were refused for an hour of late check out when the hotel was mostly empty and the receptionist lied and said the reason was ''we are sorry it is fully booked. It would have even be better if they said they can't because of cleaning lady time and schedule. Overall, the hotel has great potential but not managed as well as it should.

I would have liked a more sincere review like mine before booking this hotel! I would like to preface this review by: we are used to authentic hotels in asia with a bit of stains, used furniture and animals here and there, but an unloved hotel that is THIS EXPENSIVE should not receive 4stars!! Much rubbish like beer bottles lying around (even in the pool). Everything is a bit broken from chairs to sunbeds. Pool is very small at the beach. Our cottage with bathtub has not been shown any love or care in the past years, stains everywhere, dark grey unflattering walls, not really clean, making us feel dirty too. Lighting was horrible, not much worked and at night we hardly could chill outside our room in our garden. Towels were dirty and full of stains, even though they told us we would be fined if we made stains ourself. AC so very loud. Loads of rats, didn't bother us though. Showerhead in the bathroom hasn't been cleaned in years, as the waterspray on the toilet. Drains don't work, all of them. Sewage smell in some places, but this is most probably due to Railey being an island, which is common in thailand and no blame! Breakfast is ok, location of the restaurant at the beach is fantastic! But that‘s about it. We didn‘t like the beach much on Railey West, as it‘s full of day tourists, the village gets calmer after sunset. We left two days early, the very high price is outrageous for this unloved hotel!!!

Excellent location but the resort itself was quite average. Rooms were not well kept and needed maintenance. Restaurant and food were average too. On the positive side the pool and spa are good. For a resort this size and price, the focus on safety and security was almost missing. An incident with a fellow resident was not addressed despite several calls. Overall not a resort I would recommend to friends.

It’s located in a true paradise. Access to the rooms can be a bit labyrinthine, but everything is well signposted. It’s important to keep the doors closed, as monkeys can enter the rooms. We were initially assigned a family bed for two friends, but after requesting a change, the staff responded quickly and provided us with a room with two beds, improving our comfort. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, with an impressive natural setting and attentive service that handled any issues promptly.

The room was totally different from the selling pictures, with many defects. I was also very surprised when a staff came to refill the minibar after I had already checked in. It felt like the room wasn’t ready, as the minibar should have been fully set up before my arrival. When I pointed out that the room cleanliness was not good and showed her specific spots, she simply replied that it was NORMAL and nothing more could be done. I was very disappointed with this response, especially since she was a housekeeper and acted as though cleanliness was not important. After that, I was offered to move to another room, but unfortunately, it was in the same poor condition as the first one. I didn’t want to complain again and lazy to move again and again , but honestly, for a resort that charges 5-star prices, I expected much better service. Once a guest complains about a room, the staff should inspect the new room before offering it, to make sure the same problems don’t happen again. Sadly, that wasn’t the case here. Later, in the evening, I asked a male staff member at the pool bar to call a buggy car for me to return to my room. Instead of assisting, he just pointed with his finger toward the abandon reception and told me to ask there. When I went to check, the reception was empty with no one around. As a result, I had to walk back to my room on my own. This lack of service was extremely disappointing.
