We had a very relaxing stay at the Occidental resort in Mexico. The resort itself is surrounded by nature, with beautiful plants, trees, deer, monkeys, and other wildlife throughout the grounds. Everything was well maintained and created a peaceful, eco friendly atmosphere. D’Oriental was our favorite restaurant. The service there was excellent and the food was good overall. We had no stomach issues at all, which is always a bonus when traveling. I did notice that certain items like avocado, pineapple, and bacon were often limited. We visited in December and really enjoyed the Christmas tree lighting event, which was lovely for both adults and children. The lobby was a bit crowded during the event, but it still felt festive and enjoyable. Another big highlight is the location. The resort is only about a five minute walk to Xcaret Park, a waterfront eco archaeological park offering attractions like snorkeling and cave exploration. The in and out privileges were very convenient, as it allowed us to return to the resort for meals instead of buying food at the park. All in all, we were very pleased with our stay and would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing, nature filled vacation.

Overall was a good experience and that is mainly due to the location as well as the incredibly friendly staff. We upgraded our room to the Royal Level, and was very happy we did given it gave us access to the best restaurant on the property. The room was large and spacious but was advertised to have a "Hot Tob". When we arrived, we were told it was not in fact a hot tub, but a cold water whirlpool which is very different. They apologized a few times but didn't seem to want to do much more than that which is a bit disappointing. We also had an issue where staff entered the room to do a turn down service while we were in the shower - that was quite unsettling. We also came back from the beach one day to a few workers in the room programming our television. This is just not acceptable behavior when traveling and they need to do a better job of respecting privacy and space. The entire staff at the French restaurant is incredible and made our trip.

I recently stayed at Occidental at Xcaret Destination in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, and overall had a really great experience. The resort is beautiful, surrounded by nature, with lots of pools, food options, and places to relax. It felt like there was always something to do, but also plenty of space to just unwind. One of the highlights of my stay was the staff, especially Dayreth or Daryreth, sorry if I didn’t spell it right. She was so enthusiastic, friendly, and genuinely positive every time we interacted. Her energy honestly made my day and added so much to the overall experience, those little moments really make a difference on a vacation. The room was comfortable and clean, and I appreciated how convenient everything was around the resort. Being so close to Xcaret and surrounded by greenery gave the whole place a unique vibe that made the stay feel extra special. There were a couple of small things that could be improved, but nothing that took away from how much I enjoyed my time there. Overall, it was a very positive experience, and I would definitely come back.

We loved the customer service the 9 days that we stayed with the whole family! The workers were very friendly and remembered our names! Especially Julio at the snack hut by the big pool! He made us laugh and had great conversations when we asked him for information! We preferred the snack hut for food, the pool and outstanding service! Besides great service the hotel has great pools, even with swim up bar, it has a swim cove with a private beach (great for kids) fun activities for everyone! The tropical setting and animals were also so amazing!! Plus, we booked our trip to Chichen Itza and Tulum (with centers) at the hotel and it was safe, convenient and high quality! We do wish they offered better quality food but all the friendly service made up for it!

The best hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff truly make this place special. You can see how hard they work every single day, always with a smile and genuine care for the guests. Their attention to detail and willingness to help with anything really stood out and made my stay unforgettable. It’s all in the little things, and the staff here get everything right. The food, the atmosphere, the people—everything is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this hotel and am already looking forward to coming back again. And the monkeys are very cool!😎👌
