This hotel is advertised as a 4-star property, but it has consistently failed to provide even the most basic services expected from a hotel of this category. During my stay, I have experienced the following issues: * I paid for a reservation that clearly stated breakfast was included. However, upon arrival, I was informed that on Saturdays and Sundays the hotel does not serve breakfast at all. Instead, they only offer brunch from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. This information was never disclosed during the booking process. This schedule is completely impractical for guests who leave the hotel early in the morning, especially those who specifically chose and paid for a reservation with breakfast included. * Even during regular breakfast service, there are simply not enough staff to operate it properly. This morning, there was no one available to assist guests, and I had to leave without being able to get breakfast for my daughter before taking her to her two-week summer program at Chelsea Piers. * The hotel repeatedly has no clean towels available. When I requested towels, I was told there were none because it was Sunday and the laundry service had not delivered them. This is completely unacceptable for a hotel advertised as 4 stars. * Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the rooftop hosts very loud parties with virtually no soundproofing. The music is extremely loud late into the night, making it very difficult to rest. * Only one elevator is functioning, causing long delays and inconvenience. * The front desk received packages delivered for me but repeatedly told me that nothing had arrived, only for the packages to be found later. Tonight, at approximately 10:20 p.m., a staff member came to my room demanding that I move to another room because I extended my reservation through Booking.com and the extension was apparently booked under a different room category. I understand that the room category may differ. However, I immediately offered to pay the price difference so that I could remain in my current room. The room they want to move me to has a non-functioning air conditioner, which is not an acceptable accommodation, especially during the summer in New York. Despite my willingness to pay the difference and resolve the matter reasonably, the hotel insisted that I move rooms late at night. When I declined to open my door at 10:20 p.m. because I did not feel comfortable moving rooms at that hour with my daughter, the staff member threatened to call the police. I find this behavior completely unacceptable and intimidating. I have cooperated throughout my stay and have tried repeatedly to resolve these issues directly with the hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel management has been entirely unhelpful. I have spoken with other guests who expressed similar frustration and told me that management simply does not address complaints or attempt to resolve problems. The only reason I did not leave this hotel after the first day is because it is the only property conveniently located near Chelsea Piers, where my daughter is attending a two-week summer program. Relocating during this period would have been extremely difficult. I booked this property relying on the quality standards represented on Booking.com. The reality has been completely different from what was advertised.

We booked direct 5 months ahead. When we arrived to check-in one of our rooms was ready but the other was not. We were told to come back and the other room would be ready when we returned. When we came back and the front desk person told us that there were no rooms available and the hotel had overbooked. They offered us a room with no air conditioning. It happed to be 90 degrees in the city and the room was close to 100. We had come in to NYC for business and got 2 rooms, one for our employee. Because there was no room available with air the front desk offered an air mattress which we had to set up ourselves. We had to request sheets and pillows. The air mattress would not hold air, went flat in the night and our business associate had to sleep on a tiny couch that was in our room. The entire experience was uncomfortable and inconvenient. 3 people using the same bathroom, dressing for work, not sleeping, ect. The interior enclosure of the shower in the room is glass and see through, so you can imagine that was awkward. I saw a homeless man come into the lobby to get water from the bar Fixtures in bathroom loose and secured with clumps of yellow foam. Not a 4 star hotel, more like a 1 star. When I asked to be compensated for the inconvenience, the manager Tristin said they did not charge us for the room we did not sleep in and we were upgraded to a bigger room, which we did not ask for. I asked for a partial refund for compensation, but the manager Tristin said the upgrade that I did not ask for was compensation.

I received very bad costumer service at the hotel. They gave me a room with broken blinds. They knew the room was defective and still rented it. Zero privacy. They offered no solution to my problem, no relocation, no discount, and no accountability. The manager was nowhere to be found and the front desk lady was not helpful and not even friendly. I chose to check out and seek a refund with the booking company. Now I am in NYC 10pm with no hotel and they do not care.

Had the best stay at Hotel Alameda! It was clean and cute and even the music was nice. We loved the area! The shining star of the hotel was Martin! It is rare to meet people who truly embody the meaning of hospitality, but he has mastered it! He is as helpful as he is kind and clearly dedicated to guest experience. He gave us great advice and suggestions about the neighborhood and the rest of NYC. He’s a real gem and so is Hotel Alameda.

I’m obsessed with this hotel, I stay here every time I’m in Chelsea. Martin and Diane are incredible hosts along with all of the other staff. They seriously made me feel like I was at home and went out of their way to make my stay better. They have brunch on the rooftop, good food, snacks and a full bar. I love the rooms, and the bathrooms. Oh yea they also had a little market here one day and I got to buy really cute stuff!
