This is a safe, clean, no frills Marriott property for budget travelers. Know that this is a heavy traffic hotel with a small lobby and limited frills. The room itself was tiny with no closet or places to unpack and put clothes. That said, it was all we needed for 3 nights in the city. The bed and linens were clean and comfortable. Bring ear plugs as there were lots of people coming back to their rooms late at night and it seems some guests don’t know the etiquette rules of being quiet past 11pm. We enjoyed the complimentary coffee in the lobby in the morning and loved that we were a short walk from Apollo Bagels. I do not recommend eating at the rooftop restaurant as it was mediocre at best and mostly a party spot for younger guests and visitors. It would be fun for drinks if you are in your 20s and don’t mind a somewhat tacky atmosphere. The worst part about this property is the giant pile of trash right outside that grew throughout our stay. On our 4th day, it was still there. I’m guessing this is a city issue but was pretty gross and off putting. The hotel staff were lovely and super hopeful and kind. Overall, we will try to find another Marriott property if we return to NYC.

I stayed for 4 nights in January 2026. I always like to start with something positive so the location is great and the rooms are updated and small but cute. However there were some serious issues with service and housekeeping. First off I arrived early at 11am and requested a high floor which they said was based on availability, yet I was given a 7th floor room in the back even though I was one of the first to check in and as a new Marriott Bonvoy member I was supposed to receive a free room upgrade. Secondly on my 3rd day I requested my room be cleaned at 10:50 am yet when I returned at 2:45 pm it had still not been serviced. I had ask them again to clean it and had to wait in the lobby for an hour while they cleaned my room even though I wanted to take a nap. The third and major issue is that when I came back to my room at 1 am I noticed a large bloodstain on my duvet. I have NEVER stayed at a hotel that had bloodstains on my sheets. I called the front desk and they brought me a new duvet, which ALSO had bloodstains on it and dirty hair. The THIRD duvet they brought had the same issue. I spent AN HOUR in the middle of the night changing sheets and making my own bed. The front desk gave me 10,000 points and I said that would not be enough. Management the following day said they would give me 35,000 which I took to mean IN ADDITION to what I was already given to compensate me for all of this. However they meant 35,000 total and when I called to fix this they were not apologetic or understanding in the slightest and said it was 35,000 total. I think blood on sheets is disgusting and just because it is low season doesn’t mean I shouldn’t get fair compensation. This hotel runs $450 a night in the summer and unhygienic rooms are never acceptable.

I cannot fault this hotel at all - we arrived after a long flight and were swiftly checked in. The customer service was amazing - they were knowledgeable and always on hand to help with any questions. The room was incredible - very spacious for New York City where it was spotless and was rigorously cleaned by housekeeping staff. The temperature control in the room was also perfect considering when we went, it was not the warmest! The hotel is located 3 minutes away from Fulton St subway which makes it super easy to get around the city. They also have luggage storage for placing your bags. The price was very fair - we booked three weeks before due to our previous accommodation being cancelled and I can honestly say it was worth every dollar. I would return in a heartbeat.

It is completely disaster every voice from rooftop is in your room until 3 am and I am still awake. They didn’t change my room. In this room there is absolutely no sound isolation. I don’t recommend this hotel if you need to sleep.

We stayed at this hotel for 8 days as two adults and two children, paying approximately $1,800. The lobby was small, and the room was quite cramped—making it almost impossible for a family of four to move around comfortably. Additionally, one of the reception staff members, Ashley, unfortunately came across as very cold and indifferent. It was quite obvious that she did not enjoy her job; she was consistently unfriendly and occasionally responded to questions in a rather arrogant manner. This kind of attitude leaves a very negative impression for a front desk position. When we arrived on the fourth floor, we were immediately greeted by a strong, unpleasant musty smell in the corridor. The rooms themselves felt rather average and outdated. The water pressure in the sink was also very low; I could barely wash my hands properly. Every night, my arm would hang off the bed, and since I was sharing the bed with my child, the same issue applied to my wife as well. The room was extremely dark throughout the day due to being surrounded by tall buildings, with almost no natural sunlight coming in. The shower setup was also very impractical. There was no handheld shower, everything was fixed, and the water pressure was weak. As a result, taking a shower took at least 20 minutes. The simple comfort of unwinding with a proper shower after a long day, as we are used to in other hotels, was not possible here. Overall, the hotel was a major disappointment. Despite repeatedly requesting four bottles of water for our family of four, we were consistently given only two and had to follow up several times. There was a clear lack of coordination between reception and housekeeping. However, when we spoke directly with the housekeeping team, they were very attentive and helpful and clearly doing their job well. The only positive aspect of the hotel was its location, which is why we initially chose it. However, there are many much better and more affordable options in the same area, or even better locations. I would not recommend this hotel and would never stay here again. Four Points by Sheraton Downtown was, unfortunately, a very disappointing experience for us.
