Couples Swept Away

My wife and I went to Couples Swept Away for our honeymoon and it was an unforgettable experience. The beach is beautiful and world-class. The sports complex is very big and offers a variety of activities if you want a break from sitting by the pool/beach. The catamaran tour was a lot of fun and a great addition to the all-inclusive package. The food and drinks were all great and we never got tired of the choices offered. The desserts were especially tasty! The rooms are comfortable and spacious. All of the staff members we interacted with were super helpful and friendly. Special thank you to Dwight at the beach bar, Chrissanta at Feathers, Kayla on the entertainment team, and Anthony the groundskeeper for helping make our trip truly special!

The location is beautiful, the resort is well kept and the vast majority of the staff are friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the Great House, our room was a good size and comfortable with good aircon,plentiful hot water and a great view. We could not fault the maid service. However our room had not been refurbished and the decor was quite shabby and the placement of electrical sockets quite random. The beach is fantastic but the provision of sunshades is lacking and the towel game is played seriously. The beach is public and vendors are continuously shouting their wares from 8 in the morning to 5 at night. The pools are very lacklustre and small for the size of the resort with little shade. The food and service in Feathers, Lemongrass and Patois is very good. The food in the buffet is generally very good but there is a far smaller range of dishes on offer than we have found at other 5 star resorts, the choice of fruits and cold meats is particularly poor. It seems as if the servers on the carvery station have been instructed to ration guests, see the picture where the 3 small cubes of meat at the top of the plate was supposed to be a portion of jerked pork. Food and service at the Cabana grill is quite poor, we received raw chicken on one occasion and on another left after waiting over 40 minutes for a burger. On the whole we had a good holiday but the resort doesn't compare to other Caribbean 5 stars we have been to for food quality and comfort. There are far more luxurious resorts for the same price.

This was our first time at an all inclusive resort. Our last trip was a Viking river cruise and this didn't quite measure up their level of excellence. Rooms were beach bungalow with good beds. The beach was amazing. Food was good but not excellent. We found the buffet to actually be better than the premier restaurants that you needed to make a reservation for. The coffee bar was outstanding. The biggest disappointment was that the drinks tasted watered down and the wine was bottom shelf. You couldn't get a decent martini at any of the bars. No drink upgrade program was available. I realize I'm comparing this to Viking which was nearly twice the price but they could have done better. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

My wife and I went for our honeymoon. Place is nice, rooms aren’t big but they look elegant. Only things to consider are for breakfast there’s typically 2 restaurants open, one which is a buffet and an actual sit down and order food restaurant. The buffet pretty much has the same thing for breakfast which is eggs, bacon, sausage, bread, omelets, pancakes, etc. the restaurant is basically the same but it’s more customized. We are very picky people and maybe this was just specific for us but it would’ve been nice to have more variety. The other thing I’d say to consider is the palms is where events are held every evening, we go to bed early and we were far from the palms so this wasn’t an issue for us. However, if you stay near the palms there’s live music which can be heard pretty clear from the surrounding buildings (most of them are done by 10 PM, so if that’s early for you then this shouldn’t be an issue at all! However, we are old souls!) The staff is nice. I was super IMPRESSED by Orlando who works at the palms. Out of everyone in the resort I never felt more heard or someone who was attentive to anything we needed. He always had a smile in his face, always went above and beyond for anything we needed.

This was the most beautiful trip we have ever taken. The resort is absolutely amazing and the location is perfect: direct access to the sea, the stunning white beach of Negril, excellent beach facilities, beautiful rooms, great food, and fantastic entertainment. At first, the price may seem expensive, but it is absolutely worth it because the resort offers an incredible all-inclusive experience. Food, international alcohol and drinks, and especially entertainment and sports activities are all included, making the overall value exceptional. We also want to give a very special mention to Andrea Bruce at the reception desk. She helped us enormously during our stay. Since the resort is mainly frequented by English-speaking guests from the United States, Canada, and the UK, the local Jamaican staff naturally speak English very quickly and fluently. Even though we speak English regularly, as non-native speakers we sometimes had some difficulties. Andrea was incredibly kind, patient, welcoming, and always available to help us. We are truly grateful to her for making our stay even more enjoyable. We will definitely return!
