If the resort was top-notch. Absolutely zero complaints. The food in each of the à la carte restaurants was amazing. However, our favorite was Dolce Vita. Two servers in particular were outstanding and made our time there particularly special. They were detailed oriented and very attentive. We had saved Dolce Vita for our last night, and I’m so glad we did, because servers Gilberto Lozano & Cristopher Morales accommodated our every request and made our final dinner celebration so special. Hats off to them for being excellent representatives of the Barcello brand. Thank you, gents! And thank you Barcelo for an amazing holiday.

Dolce Vita at Barceló Maya Riviera – Adults Only was, without question, the standout dining experience of my stay. From the moment we were seated, Gerardo Álvarez and Erubiel Caalal delivered service that was precise, attentive, and genuinely professional without ever feeling forced. The pacing was impeccable. Every course arrived at the right moment. Presentation was refined and thoughtful. The food itself exceeded expectations — not just “great for an all-inclusive,” but genuinely impressive by any standard. Each dish was beautifully plated, balanced, and clearly prepared with care. What truly distinguished the evening, however, was the level of awareness and attention to detail. At one point during dinner with my date, my lap napkin fell to the floor. Before I could even react, one of the gentlemen was at the table, discreetly removing the dropped napkin and replacing it instantly with a fresh one. No interruption. No awkwardness. Just seamless, polished service. That single moment captured the standard they operate at. Gerardo and Erubiel anticipated needs before we had to ask, maintained a professional yet relaxed presence, and ensured the entire evening flowed effortlessly. Their knowledge of the wine selection was equally impressive — and Dolce Vita’s collection is strong. The pairing recommendations elevated the meal even further. After experiencing several restaurants on property, this was hands down my favorite. Exceptional service. Exceptional food. Exceptional presentation. If you dine at Dolce Vita, ask for Gerardo Álvarez and Erubiel Caalal. They set the bar.

Library style atmosphere. Very quiet, even at music pool. If you like nothing going on and whispering due to how quiet it is around the pool, you will like this place. When we arrived, it seemed like a ghost town, no guests around. The buffet for breakfast and lunch had the exact same thing every day, except for one. We stayed 8 nights, and the food choices got old quickly. The staff everywhere was outstanding and their service was spot on. Music at the buffet every morning sounded like we were at the spa. We weren't looking for a party style atmosphere, but also didnt want it to seem like a retirement home.

The taco bar at Agave is such a great experience for dinner! one our our favourites, it is chill and class and the service is amazing. So much variety, with sauces and toppings. And a big variety of tacos, I like the steak and fish taco and my partner loved the steak and shrimp. I loved the corn taco but you can choose to have flour as well. Over all AMAZING! Crystain, Candetario and Omar were amazing hosts, very anttentive annd making sure we anlways had everything we needed. Everything was very clean and ther was a cleaning person waiting at the side the move sure any mess was swept up promptly.

Left yesterday and my heart was broken 🤣 a little honest review of our stay in Barcelo Maya Riviera Adults Only. So far this has been the best most all inclusive we have been in 5 years! Heres why: -bed was massive! We had the oceanfront bedroom. -Came in last week Thursday, staffs were very nice and smiling upon our arrival. -we had a easy breezy check-in for a family of 5, i was with my husband, sister and my parents in their 60’s. (They like quiet, slow paced hotel- they are also very picky with food) -we also tried their pickle ball area and played the next day (nobody was there) -food were amazing!!! The only thing that I wished they had was buffet 24 hrs! 🤣 (their hours was from 7a-6p) after that we booked their specialty Restaurants (we also went to Capt. Morgans as everyone was recommending but was not very happy about the food) Booked specialty restaurants as well. Plan it ahead of time as some restaurants are closed on certain days 🍛 1st Day we opted buffet as we came in a little later and was STARVING 😂 2nd day- mare nostrum 3rd Day Sapporo 4th day Dolce vita 5th Day La Comedie 6th day Agave -the first night they brought us welcome fruits and our last night some desserts. -drinks were FIRE! But also it will depend on the bartender. We also visited other location like Caribe and Tropical the drinks was also good! -room cleaners are also amazing, (they stock our fridge with snacks and drinks daily) -activities are okay its mostly mariachi band most nights. *Only thing I can see that could improve was hopefully the beach area was not that rocky and wished that they have finger foods by the pool to snack in. Over-all it was a 10000 out of 10 experience. OH AND PLEASE TIP THE EMPLOYEES. They were very happy with a little something and will treat you better. ❤️ again, this was based on my own experience.
