We went during the week of NYE and they were severely understaffed in all areas. I’ll start with the pros. 1. We booked a wine tasting and a tequila tasting and the sommelier Reynold was fantastic. His customer service, expertise and hospitality were unmatched. 2. The kids club was fantastic. The staff was friendly and the kids enjoyed it. 3. Booked a facial and massage on the last day. Erica was phenomenal. 4. The rooms were spacious and had the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in while visiting Cancun. 5. Miyami- The hibachi was excellent and Alejandro’s level of customer service was phenomenal. I had the best dirty martini here as well. The cons 1. Hard to get restaurant reservations. We had to practically beg at one of the restaurants to squeeze us in and the chef was so kind to do that for us. It was at the Mexican restaurant. 2. There were no towels available at the pool for two consecutive days. 3. The servers at the pool were overworked and no one came to check on us while we were in the Bali beds (day beds) for drinks or anything. I had to chase someone down and then he took 45 minutes to come back. 4. I called to ask for towels in our room almost daily. They would only provide 2 and there were 4 of us. 5. No turn down service. 6. The check in process was extremely slow especially since they try to get you to sign up for a presentation. Overall, I wouldn’t come back to this resort after visiting many other resorts in the area. The property is beautiful and the food is good but the customer service is awful.

The butler service that Ernesto and Abraham provided was outstanding! These two gentlemen went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to insure we had a glorious stay. They were very friendly and prompt in all communications and interactions. Their attention to detail with our requests did not go unnoticed. They provided assistance with transportation, activity updates, and special occasions. They were generous and over the top help with pool accommodations. We are grateful for their professionalism, attention, assistance, and stories. I can not say enough about how wonderful Ernesto and Abraham were! Thank you for everything! We just returned from a week at AVA for the Legends of Paradise event. We had gone to the same event in September of 2024 and the resort was not ready. This time most everything was open and we had a much better experience. The rooms are nice, and the pools are incredible, but the thing that always makes our trips great is staff. Our butlers, Edgar and Moises were incredible. Edgar is always at AVA, so his knowledge was great, and Moises was brought in from Hard Rock Riviera Maya for the event, and he was also fantastic. They both checked in with us in person several times a day, and when we had some scheduling issues they fixed everything immediately. The pool staff at the members pool was very attentive and the entire hotel did a great job with the large number of members. Of course we really enjoyed the two concerts by Radio XX, and is very nice that the band members are staying at the hotel, and they make a huge effort to interact with all the guests and are great guys.

This place is a very elegant and upscale looking resort from the outside and appearance. We decided to go for a F&F room so our toddler could play on the deck and in the hot tub. We've found numerous cigarette butts on our sundeck, probably from people flicking them from up above. The deck and hot tub has a ton of bird poop on it. Also the room has a bunch of broken glass shards from whoever was staying here before. I stepped on the broken glass and had some of it lodged into my toe. The blood and pain of it was extremely irritating but luckily I stepped on it and not my toddler. The resort looks very high end but to pay this amount and be facing these issues is extremely frustrating. I also read previous reviews about it being an issue to book restaurants. Those are pretty accurate, you have to book all your restaurants asap (even a day before you come). We usually stay at dreams resorts and personally found it to be a better value for the quality. This place is very good for photo ops, tik tok reels and looking lavish but the actual details to attention, cleanliness and what you pay for are missing the mark. The pools are nice, the food is good, the staff is nice. It's definitely not all bad, just not what we feel we over paid for. We can't see ourselves returning here.

Not far from the airport (pro) loud noise of planes landing (con) Room is beautiful with great view. I believe every room has a view (pro). Nice cribs for infants. CONS: could not get service to save our lives. from day 1. Upon check in-- couldn't get the two rooms we booked together to be close. Had to call housekeeping every day at least 3-5 times a day before anyone would come and clean room. They would not replenish towels or lotions/soaps/ toiletries or complimentary waters in mini fridge. Tried the entire time we were there and no luck. One day they did show up at 945 pm to clean our room after our infant was already asleep..that was THE ONLY TIME they came to clean room. Upon check in-- all restaurants were completely booked --spent half a day on the phone with a 1-800 # to help.. The concierge "doesn't do that." Everything is in-personal and not helpful. How do they not hold space for incoming guests at the restaurants???? If you are going to book >2k guests-- you should have the staff to accommodate more than 5 tables/restaurant. Drinks-- all watered down and subpar. VERY LOUD and TOO PERFUMEY in all hallways. TOO MANY ROOMS/GUESTS not enough staff. Staff was all friendly-- but lacking in amount? Idk but I would not go back to this resort.
