We ended up staying at Anavana Resort somewhat unexpectedly, and honestly, it became the highlight of our time in Koh Samui. Originally, we had booked a different resort near Crystal Bay Beach, but after arriving we realised it really wasn’t right for us. Luckily, Anavana had one room left, and from the moment we arrived, the difference was immediate. The welcome, the atmosphere, and the staff’s attitude instantly put us at ease. Cottages & Atmosphere The bungalows are incredibly quaint and full of character, yet beautifully done and thoughtfully designed. They feel charming rather than dated, and the jungle surroundings make the whole resort feel peaceful, private, and calm. Relaxing by the pool or around our bungalow genuinely felt like being in a secluded retreat. Staff – the real highlight The staff were absolutely the standout part of our stay. Every single person was friendly, considerate, and always smiling. They went out of their way to help us with booking excursions, arranging onward travel, and anything else we needed. The breakfast team were particularly kind, especially K. Lek, who made our mornings even better with her warmth and attentiveness. Pool & Beach Area The pool area was a lovely place to unwind, and the beach section with sunbeds was always spotless. We could see the team cleaning early in the morning, unlike some resorts where trash is left until late. The staff even brought towels over and laid them out for us, which felt like such a thoughtful touch and really showed how accommodating they are. Rooms The room was very well equipped. It wasn’t huge, but it didn’t need to be – everything was perfectly laid out. The bathroom was excellent, with a beautiful semi-outdoor garden feature that added a special, calming touch. There was a well-organised minibar and coffee station, plus an extra seating/storage area which was really handy for luggage and belongings. Food & Entertainment The resort restaurant offers some lovely food options – we ate dinner there twice and really enjoyed it. In the evenings, there was also entertainment such as live singing, dancing, and even a fire show. The staff always made sure guests knew when and where everything was happening. Location The location is ideal. It’s in the Chaweng Beach area, and you can walk about 10 minutes to reach busier areas with shops and restaurants. At the same time, the resort itself feels very private and quiet. We didn’t hear any noise at night and slept incredibly well. Final thoughts We’re so grateful to Anavana Resort for turning what could have been a disappointing situation into such a memorable stay. The care, kindness, and attention to detail from the entire team truly made the experience special. We would absolutely stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, friendly, and beautifully run resort.

Waking up to the sound of the waves and watching the sunrise from our terrace was pure bliss. One of the highlights was the direct access to the beach, just steps away from our room. The beach itself is peaceful, clean, and perfect for a relaxing swim or a romantic evening stroll. Every detail at Anavana Beach Resort is designed for comfort and serenity — the combination of luxury, nature, and heartfelt service makes it an ideal escape for anyone looking to unwind in paradise. Fantastic place to stay. Stayed 6 nights & loved the staff, service, accommodation & location. We will definitely return for another holiday. Restaurant food was great quality & not badly priced given the surroundings of absolute water views. Happy hour buy 1 get 1 free was a bonus. This is all bar drinks including cocktails. Runs for 2 hours every afternoon. Breakfast buffet had a great selection catering to all tastes & nationalities.

I absolutely loved this place. I seen it at first two years ago when i was stayin at another hotel close by and since then i wanted to stay here. And now that i did i would go back. It s not perfect but it give the great vibes and i loved the staff that has a soul amd takes care of you which is the essence of hospitality industry. Bonus is that lovely cold pool in the shadow of the vegetation. Special thanks to the little skinny old lady taking care of me at breakfast always (apologies that i don’t know her name) see you soon again

What truly stood out was the exceptional service in the restaurant. The staff showed incredible thoughtfulness, especially with our children, and asked considerate questions, like whether the classic Margherita pizza garnish should be included. Any parent will appreciate this level of care and attention to detail. The team was highly professional and made us feel genuinely valued. Combined with the absolutely outstanding food—a perfect 10/10—this was a truly wonderful dining experience.
