Highly recommend Almare if you are looking for a quieter more intimate adults only resort. The property is a little on the smaller side, but it works well with significantly less people than larger resorts. Food options were pretty solid, however sometimes I would have liked one more unique lunch or dinner option now and again. That said the food was great, and meals never felt rushed, nor felt like dinning in a packed room. That alone was amazing. My biggest praise goes to several of the staff who went above and beyond for us the entire trip. I have to shout out Claudia, Omar, and Karen as some of the sweetest and most attentive people we had the privilege of meeting during our stay.

I booked this hotel for my birthday expecting a relaxing and premium all-inclusive experience, especially considering the Marriott partnership and the price level. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be disappointing and stressful overall. Starting with the positives: the rooms are beautiful, the furniture and design are modern, the location of the hotel is excellent, and the private ferry connection from Cancun is definitely convenient and appreciated. Some staff members, particularly Ivan and Juan, were extraordinary and genuinely went above and beyond to help, providing one of the few truly positive aspects of the stay. However, the overall service quality was far below expectations. Waiters and staff were extremely difficult to find most of the time, and even though the hotel is marketed as all-inclusive, it often felt impossible to actually benefit from the services. We constantly had to look for or flag down staff members, and the hotel appeared noticeably understaffed. Food and drinks listed on the menu were frequently unavailable, and as vegetarians this became even more frustrating because the already limited options were reduced further due to missing ingredients or unavailable dishes. The hotel also appeared poorly maintained in several areas, with visible signs of overuse and weak maintenance considering how new and premium the property presents itself. During only a four-night stay, we had to request room maintenance twice. One of the worst aspects of the stay was a fire alarm drill that lasted throughout the day, with loud alarms going off approximately every 30 minutes. I specifically booked this hotel to relax and celebrate my birthday, but instead experienced constant noise and stress. To make matters worse, we were only informed about the maintenance after the drills had already taken place. Housekeeping was also disappointing and inconsistent. Our duvet cover had both a stain and a tear, so we requested a replacement. Despite making three separate requests throughout the day, nothing was changed, even though housekeeping entered the room and changed the service light indicator. To make matters worse, the mouthwash bottles provided in the room appeared moldy and unsanitary, which is completely unacceptable for a hotel presenting itself as a premium luxury property. Beach service was poor, and it honestly felt as though waiters only became attentive after receiving tips. The beach itself was not maintained properly either, with large amounts of seaweed left uncleared. Another frustrating point was that beach towels were unavailable early in the morning and could only be obtained after approximately 9:30 AM, which makes little sense for guests wanting to enjoy the beach earlier in the day. What disappointed me most was the complete lack of attention to my birthday. My girlfriend made multiple requests — at least five separate conversations with staff — asking for a very small gesture such as a candle on a dessert or a small cake at dinner. Despite all of these reminders, absolutely nothing was done. For a property positioning itself as a luxury hospitality experience, this lack of care was extremely disappointing. Additionally, before arrival the hotel provided virtually no support regarding parking logistics. We did not have a local number to contact the Marriott associated with the ferry pickup in Cancun and had no clarity regarding where to leave our car. Despite several requests for guidance, we ultimately had to coordinate separately with the Cancun Marriott ourselves — fortunately, their staff were extremely helpful. Overall, while the hotel has potential because of its design and location, the service, organization, maintenance, cleanliness standards, and overall guest care were nowhere near the level expected from a premium all-inclusive resort.

We stayed at Almare during Easter weekend and it was great! From the moment we arrived, we truly felt like we had stepped into a different world. When you arrive at the resort, the staff greets you and welcomes you with their delicious welcome drink. The service was exceptional, and the entire staff was so kind, warm, and welcoming. Rodrigo, Karen, and Liz were especially wonderful, but honestly everyone we met was so sweet and went above and beyond to make our stay special. The food was excellent with great options and perfect portion sizes. Everything we ate was delicious. I was unfortunately feeling a little under the weather during part of our stay, and the staff could not have been more caring. They even offered to take me to a local walk-in clinic and brought me meals to help me feel better. That level of kindness meant so much to me. We also loved being able to use the hotel’s private boat from the marina to the hotel. It made everything feel even more special and convenient. The hotel does a great job setting everything up before your arrival, so you really do not have to worry about much. We loved staying here and will definitely be coming back.

We stayed at Almare in early February 2026 as part of a large group that rented out the entire resort, and overall we had a really memorable stay. What stood out most was the personalized service at the beach cabanas. My wife and I were taken care of by Alejandro, Edgar, Claudia, and Karen, and they were truly exceptional. They were attentive, kind, and genuinely engaging. The beach team consistently went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, and we found ourselves spending a lot of time there because the service was just that good. They really made the beach experience special for us. The food felt unique and culturally grounded—from the presentation to the flavor and freshness. Because this was a full resort buyout, the menu changed nightly, which we loved. That may not be the case during a typical stay, but even the buffet offerings rotated nicely and were consistently enjoyable. Our room was clean and thoughtfully designed, with great ambient lighting and a lot of nice touches throughout. We especially liked that the room key was a comfortable bracelet—simple, convenient, and easy to wear all day. Just dont over tighten it! :) A few areas could use improvement. Service varied in different parts of the resort. Outside of the beach area, not all servers seemed fully confident about what was available on the menu, including at the rooftop bar, which felt a little surprising. At Seasalt, our server didn’t mention a specialty menu that we later saw presented to other tables. We had already ordered by then, but it would have been nice to know. There were also a couple minor room issues—the toilet chain came loose and had to be reattached, and the shower handle for adjusting water temperature felt a bit worn and loose. The surrounding area does have nearby day clubs, so depending on your room location, noise could vary. Ours faced the pool with a partial ocean view, which we enjoyed. We rented a golf cart to explore town, but honestly, we found ourselves wanting to head back to the resort—it really had everything we needed. They played great music throughout the day, and overall the staff had wonderful personalities. All in all, it’s a beautiful resort with plenty of food and drink options. And a final thank you again to the beach team—they truly made our trip special.

From the moment you step foot off the boat, the experience and attention for the guest starts. Everyone is beyond welcoming and attentive. The following staff made our stay EXTRA SPECIAL; Jesus did our check in and was a crucial point of contact, making sure we knew everything that was happening. Karen & Claudia located at the beach bar went ABOVE & BEYOND! I almost cried saying good bye to these two. They had such great vibes and super friendly. Paulo, Ruben, Alejandro, Braulio, Rodrigo, Eddy made sure to keep us fed and their services were top notch. Chef Cristian, & Shara were AMAZING. The foods were delicious. We were treated like rockstars. Thank you for making our vacation memorable.
