Where to begin with this .. Been here for a week and the bungalow room and grounds are fine. The location is also a good feature if you want to leave, which you definatley will. The staff are all nice and attentive but there seems to be a lack of staff around the pool/restaurant area. The entertainment staff are nice and seem to also cook poolside on some days? The main problem with this hotel aswell as it needing a re-furb and a good clean- is the food. Dancing with death everytime you eat in the cafeteria as everything is not quite right, not to mention the poolside snack area which also leaves alot to be desired. Salad is dry, meat is poor quality, everything is just strange. THEY SERVE BOILED SPROUTS, CARROTS, GREEN BEANS for breakfast- next to what looks like mini boiled sausages??? I have no idea who this is aimed and is frankly a joke. Another thing is the pool which blasts music all day which I dont know who this is aimed at either. Other than leaving to go to the beach and spending money in Playa Blanca the hotel is a bit of a mess, save your money and get a villa or go 5 star I recommend. However some people seem to like it here so maybe its me. If this was a 2/3 star hotel it still would not be acceptable but they could get away with it, but a 4 star hotel is crazy and I cant grasp how it could possibly be. PS. The gym is excellent but not sure if it has anything to do with the hotel

Have just returned from a brilliant holiday here! Lovely resort set up, with the chalets being ideal for what our family needed. Kids entertainment was great for our 2 year old and our 10 year old came in and out of it when he wanted. Staff were all so friendly and helpful, and couldn't fault them. Loved the food, thought the choice was really varied. 2 of the 3 kids can't have dairy, but there was enough there for them still. The gym was one of the best I've seen in a resort! Short walk into town and the beach. Regret booking the waterpark as I thought it was closer. Was a 20 minute bus ride to another hotel, but a 10 minute walk. We used it once and only stayed a morning, the waterpark itself was tired and quite small. Wouldn't do that extra again. Overall great holiday and was perfect for we needed! Would just add, lots of lovely people gave us inflatables and pool toys, try to pass them on as if you leave them outside your room they get thrown away!

Im currently on holiday here and I couldn't wait until I got home to write a review. The food is some of the worst food that i have ever tried in a hotel. IM not sure how you can get chips wrong or salad , but everything is tasteless and cold. We've eaten out every day because I dont want to risk getting poorly. The rooms are okay, maids have been everyday. So not much to say on that. The pool area is horrible, music blasts all day long, no staff around at all to serve you or even cleaning up. This certainly is not a 4 star hotel, id say a 2 at most. Flies everywhere, paint chipping off the walls, mouldy sunbeds. The list goes on. Only saving grace is that we are a 10 minute walk to the beach with lots of bars and restaurants.

Stayed here because we always pay to use the fantastic gym anyway so give the hotel a go as the gym is included. The whole experience was let down by how incredibly bad the food was. I can't say anything good about it. Almost felt like it was done on purpose. I've never eaten anywhere in my life with such bland cold uncooked trash. We ended up eating at restaurants even though we were all inclusive. I would not stay here again on this alone. I'd rather stay elsewhere and pay to use the gym. Reception staff friendly. Dining staff and chefs absolutely miserable and just looked like they didn't want to be there. Here's a photo of some plastic I pulled out of a breakfast toastie.

Just returned from a week away with family, don’t even know where to start. This hotel is anything but 4* it is 3* at best! The place is bang average and filthy. Breakfast was basic, eggs burnt, cheap sausages, hardly any selection of choice everything was either under cooked or over cooked. Can’t really complain about dinner & evening meal there was better options & things had much better flavour but still would not recommend eating here. The dining staff were very friendly & constantly worked hard keeping this area clean. As for maids they barely showed up to clean the rooms, our towels were rarely changed and most days the maids showed up at 6 o’clock on the evening to clean! Not acceptable. Our air conditioning machine was absolutely disgusting it was covered in black mould inside. The place needs a major re vamp, everything is outdated, dirty, broken or damaged. The toilets by the pool were absolutely disgusting, not once did I see anyone clean in there, hand soap usually empty, water all over the floors and hand roll left all over. I’ve seen public toilets cleaner. We will never return to this hotel or any HL hotel in future. If you are used to four star hotels then avoid here at all costs. The only decent thing about this place was the gardens; they were kept immaculate. No idea how this hotel has managed to get 4* ratings.
