The Setting Sun
A very good area to stay away from the pollution, sleaziness and close to all forms of transport except boats. About 30 minutes to Don Mueang airport and Chaenwattana Immigration connected by a highway, next to Chatuchak park and two shopping malls and a theatre. The hotel is dated but useful, cozy with bigger rooms. Most of the time, cleanliness was spotless, laundry was great. The water/ towels are bleached, so avoid long hot showers. The soap/ shampoo while aromatic are a bit harsh on the skin. Beds, sleep quality were perfect. Rooms facing Chatuchak offer a great view. It's oddly fun to watch the cars and trains go by as the city sleeps. My personal experience with the staff, services and rooms has been a hit or miss. Very good or very bad. Some work very hard while others treat their job as a vacation or a throne. Duty managers/ reception have been very kind when things went wrong. Concierge/ in-room dining services are quite consistent. I recommend going for the breakfast at the lounge very early, 6-7 am. It's sufficient and the view of Bangkok is simply great with the bluish morning hue. Staff, in general, could be humble and courteous. Let them thoroughly understand their role instead of winging it. They used to have a great selection of wines but their house wine during my recent stay felt spoilt. Easily the best Burger, Phad Kapraow and Pad Thai I had but it depends on who is preparing it. I haven't accessed the pool, gym areas. I recommend a stay here over the usual areas but take it with a pinch of salt. Thanks for the many wonderful stays :)

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Bangkok. The location is very convenient and fairly central, right next to Central Ladprao Mall. There is a direct connection between the mall and the hotel (open during the mall’s operating hours), which was extremely practical — especially in Bangkok’s heat or rainy weather. The staff were truly lovely: warm, polite, and always helpful. Breakfast was excellent — rich, varied, and very tasty, with plenty of options to choose from. One of the highlights was the beautiful restaurant and bar on the 24th floor. The atmosphere is elegant, the views are great, and the quality matches the prices — definitely worth it. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Everything was very well maintained overall, with only a small minor detail in the bathroom in our room that could be refreshed a little. Another great bonus is a nice night market about a 15-minute walk away. It felt much less touristy than many other markets in Bangkok — mostly locals — with a great variety of food and very good prices. Highly recommended — we would happily stay here again!

Really enjoyed stay at hotel. First time in this Centara and this area of BKK. Staffing is 5 star and highly professional and attentive. Lobby and main communal areas spotless clean bright and elegant design..rooms were good size and had everything needed..air-conditioning worked well. We were on the side view facing school not the greatest view but not the worst either. Friendly and professional service from the lobby bar staff Dan, Noor and Iris making each visit particularly welcoming..not the keenest on the location to be honest as pedestrian access in and out not the best. We used taxi and grab and we did use Central mall but we couldn't see how it connected but sure with bit of reading on here could see where this is..always have enjoyed Centara and this again has not disappointed. Loved the pool.area. clean green calm oasis amongst the chaos outsid at times. Would stay again.

Close to two train stations—both within an easy 700-metre walk. The rooms are cozy and pleasant. Some areas, like the doors and bathroom walls, are a little worn, but nothing that affects comfort. The overall atmosphere feels comfortable yet slightly high-class, especially with the hotel’s dress code (no shorts or slippers in common areas like the breakfast restaurant). Breakfast has plenty of halal options, and the current chef is wonderfully friendly—he personally pointed out the available halal dishes, which we really appreciated. The variety was impressive. The only suggestion is to make the halal markings more noticeable; the labels were quite small, and at first we thought halal options were limited to the South Asian dishes. A larger halal mark would be very helpful.

Rooms are getting older, dimmer and house keeping not really keeping up with the cleaning anymore (our hair in the shower area were still all there on the shower floor, drainage). Hope the rooms get a much needed upgrade and glow up. They deserve a renovation. Service is still good, more English-speaking service team. Smiling was not part of the training anymore, I guess especially from chatuchak cafe team. Same mezzanine connection to Central mall. Still a beautiful hotel, overall. I have been visiting for 20+ years, and my go-to would still always be Centara Ladprao.
