A really nice hotel... Offer spacious modern rooms and helpful and attentive staff. The sheer size of the place is amazing and dwarfs any other local hotel complex. The location is pretty good with the marina a short walk away, and the main part of Playa Blanca Town a little further in the opposite direction. The Playa Dorada is also a short walk away and is very busy but a nice place to hang out, swim and snorkel. The food at the hotel is overall good, but not exceptional. It can also be a little confusing finding what you want as the 3 food areas seem to mix things up. Hard to explain but anyone who had been here will understand. The entertainment is where things fall down. There is some basic daytime entertainment but the animation team seems limited in resourcing... They need more people and need to interact more. I'm the evening there are shows in the theatre, and the standard is mostly good. But there is no pre show animation, competitions, just a small disco for very young children. This and the sheer scale of the hotel all leads to the atmosphere feeling like it lacks fun and enjoyment, relaxation absolutely but if you want something a bit more upbeat then look elsewhere. Which is a shame because in many other ways the hotel is excellent.

We upgraded to a suite with a lateral sea view. Yes there’s a sea view and it’s very lateral! I’m not really sure about the description of a suite. It’s more a room with a sofa and a sink and shower in, although the shower does have doors! There is limited drawer space for clothes but has two hanging areas. The hotel is large and feels a little clinical, but it is very clean and is in a great position.

Title: High-Tech Luxury, Great Canarian Food & Important Tips Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Room & Technology: Smart Controls: The room integration is very fancy. The TV works in conjunction with your phone/tablet to control lights, AC, and door notifications (Clean/Do Not Disturb). Language Tip: To get the TV menu into English, simply use the Red Button on the remote. Room Size & Safety: The rooms feel bigger in person than they do on the 360-degree online view. Important Note: The doors are very heavy (likely for fire regs), so make sure you give them a firm push to ensure they are fully closed when leaving. Dining & Drinks: The Food: There was plenty of choice at the buffets. We particularly loved the Canarian restaurant buffet—the food was excellent. The Wine: The wine selection was really, really good. A great tip is to check the Barceló App—you can see the full menu there and ask staff for specific bottles listed on the app. The Breezer Bar: A fun highlight! They have really nice pre-made cocktail slushies that you can just access yourself. Service & Atmosphere: The staff were helpful and friendly, and the cleanliness throughout the hotel was fabulous. Everywhere seemed to be spotless. A "Heads Up" for Sports Fans: There is a strange situation in the Sports Bar regarding licensing. They showed DAZN coverage (e.g., Barcelona games) but did not show the England FIFA qualifiers, even though it was available on the BBC channel inside our room. If a specific match is important to you, check ahead. Final Thoughts: We wouldn't hesitate to return to the Barceló Playa Blanca. It was a great experience, and we would definitely recommend it to our friends and family.

Excellent hotel. Huge, impressive setup including a massive pool and landscaped grounds. Room layout is a little odd with the sink outside of the toilet in the main room, though it still functions. Hotel is clean throughout and our room was cleaned spotlessly everyday. Staff are all very friendly and welcoming. Food is good though not amazing, though there is plenty of choice. We really liked the Mediterranean restaurant on the right when entering, for some reason it is always quieter than the other buffet restaurant, and the decor is beautiful. The evening entertainment is good fun, including the kids mini disco. Gym is well equipped with great open air views. Overall it’s a great hotel which I would definitely return to.

The best holiday I’ve been on ever. Everything was perfect at Barcelo. The buffet had lots of choices and it was all very good tasting food, the rooms were cleaned everyday and not just changing sheets. The poolside was relaxing, the staff were all friendly and polite. This was just the absolute best place I decided to stay. I recommend 100% I am already looking to book another trip at barcelo.
