Had an excellent stay at Turyaa Kalutara! We stayed in a Superior Plus room, which was really comfortable and well-appointed. The entire experience was wonderful from start to finish. The highlight was definitely the pool area—they have two large, beautiful pools that are perfect for relaxing. The buffet spread was equally impressive, with a huge variety of delicious options for every meal. Plus, the ocean views are absolutely stunning. Highly recommended for a getaway!

My stay was a mixed experience, but it ultimately turned out to be a pleasant one thanks to the efforts of Umasha and the overall quality of the hotel’s facilities. Upon arrival, the first impression was not as positive as expected. The welcoming staff appeared inexperienced and inconsistent in their service. While some guests were offered refreshing towels upon arrival, others, including us, were overlooked and had to request them. In addition, the rooms that had been requested were not ready on time, resulting in an unnecessary wait before we could check in. These issues created frustration and affected the overall arrival experience. Fortunately, Umasha stepped in and handled the situation professionally. She listened to our concerns, addressed the issues promptly, and ensured that our stay improved significantly. As a thoughtful gesture, we were offered a late checkout, which was greatly appreciated and helped make up for the initial inconveniences. Beyond the service concerns, the property itself is excellent. The food was enjoyable, the views were beautiful, and the pool area provided a relaxing and refreshing atmosphere. The hotel clearly offers a high standard of facilities and has invested heavily in creating an attractive environment for guests. However, I believe there is room for improvement when it comes to customer service and staff training. Aitken Spence has invested substantially in the construction and amenities of the property, and a similar investment in developing staff service standards would elevate the guest experience considerably. Thankfully, Umasha’s professionalism made a significant difference; without her intervention, the overall experience would have been much less satisfactory.

We came here on our anniversary stay and everything was lovely. From the rooms, service and even the food it was all exceptional and so good! The place alone is very beautiful and relaxing. We visited with kids and they too had so much fun! It was overall a great stay and I'd recommend the hotel to anyone who's looking for a peaceful getaway!! Thank you so much turyaa. Will definitely visit again.

I had a wonderful stay at Turyaa Kalutara. The hotel offers beautiful sea views, comfortable rooms, and excellent facilities. The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to assist. The food was delicious with a good variety of options. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable beach getaway in Sri Lanka.

Our recent family stay at Turyaa Kalutara was unfortunately one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we have had. We visited with our two children (aged 13 and 9), expecting a relaxing family getaway at a 4-star property under the Aitken Spence brand. The room had three single beds that could not be properly merged, and the proposed solution was to place a sheet across two separate beds, which was not practical, especially for our 9-year-old son. The room also appeared to have been prepared in a rush. We found unclean mugs with lipstick marks, and after changing rooms, basic amenities such as towels, coffee sachets, and sugar were missing and had to be brought separately over an extended period and the room was fully equipped by 4.15 pm. The hotel had accommodated multiple large groups, which resulted in long queues for meals, limited food variety, and food quality that was well below our expectations. What was particularly disappointing was being informed that long queues for food are normal because the hotel is busy every weekend. As guests, we expect the hotel to anticipate peak occupancy and deploy adequate resources and staffing to ensure comfort and convenience. Unfortunately, the meals at Turyaa Kalutara did not meet the expectations. The selection was limited, the variety was poor, and the overall dining experience was far below what we anticipated from a 4-star hotel under the Aitken Spence brand. To make matters worse, the overcrowding resulted in long queues, and we had to wait considerable periods of time just to obtain food. Instead of enjoying our meals as a family, dining became a frustrating and exhausting experience.
