Hikkaduwa is a popular area with tourists from around the world, and is known for its vibrant nightlife. If you fancy venturing out, you’ll find restaurants and bars within a 5-minute walk, and more as you keep walking along the coast. The historic city of Galle is within easy reach of Hikka Tranz, just 20km away. This area of Sri Lanka is a great destination for seeing some wonderful wildlife. The hotel can provide a number of experiences and excursions during your stay, including whale watching (October to April), diving and nature walks amongst many others.

For a meaty fix, the menu at this steak and kebab house is the perfect place to satisfy your craving. Seven types of succulent steak, racks of lamb, and tandoori chicken kebabs are just some of the highlights. Open for lunch and dinner, this is a popular choice at Hikka Tranz.

The Crab

Fresh seafood dishes are the stars of the a la carte menu at The Crab. This restaurant is perfectly situated by the ocean, with the sea breeze adding a refreshing ambience while you dine on speciality dishes. The chefs create their spicy delights in a show cooking kitchen, so you can see the magic as it happens. Reservations are recommended.

Great place, entire property was nice, clean and well maintained. Staff were all great, friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed having a few drinks at the bar poolside, felt very relaxing and all the bar staff were great. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Balcony was also very relaxing with the lounger sofa. The beach is beautiful but unless you are a local, expect some harassment to buy stuff or see sharks or turtles from the locals. The whole experience was great though and we'll definitely come stay here again next year when we come back to Sri Lanka. Was a great last couple nights before our trip back to Canada.

My wife and I recently stayed at Cinnamon Hikkaduwa Tranz for two nights on a half-board basis. Having arrived directly from another hotel in Hikkaduwa, the contrast in service, hospitality, and overall atmosphere was immediately noticeable and significantly better here. It’s clear the team puts real effort into the guest experience; I especially appreciated the daily activities organized for guests, which is a fantastic initiative. I also want to commend the team for their thoughtfulness regarding my wife’s birthday. We requested a cake when booking, and they proactively called a few days prior to confirm. They even offered to include balloons in the room, which was a lovely touch—though, unfortunately, they didn't manage to get those set up by the time we arrived. However, I have to highlight a significant disappointment: the food. My family and my wife’s family have been visiting this property for decades, and the buffet was always something we highly regarded. On this recent visit, the spread of items and the overall quality were quite poor. It was, unfortunately, to the point where we felt the need to skip meals altogether. Having recently experienced the buffet at Marino Beach Hotel in Colombo, the comparison was stark; Hikka Tranz’s current offering simply didn’t meet the standard we’ve come to expect here. I hope the management takes the feedback regarding the dining quality into account, as it is the only thing preventing this from being a five-star experience.
Ninja Unicorns
Stayed here as a family of 4 for a week all inclusive. Amazing place and great staff, everyone from housekeeping through to the restaurant were friendly and always smiling. Food was very good and lots of variety. The facilities and location were exceptional very comfy sun loungers with lots of choice on where to sit. Big shout out to the pool bar staff team, including kumara, viraj, Nilanka, sithmina, Thevindi, Mendis, and Janaka all who couldn’t have made our stay more welcoming and relaxed. They were always on hand to help with a smile and serve a chilled drink! Restaurant staff were brilliant and very attentive and friendly. Especially would like to thank Madusanka, Thinogsha and Deegayu who made our time here extra special. I was fortunate enough to celebrate my 50th while staying here and the special extra touches were lovely. Great place to stay 😎
Binushi Sampath
Very nice hotel with a perfect location ! The view is incredible! The rooms are nice and confortable. The staff is very helpfull and caring. Especially Lasan in the restaurant who was very professional and took good care of us. And also Lakshan who made up our room every morning with a special care for the kids (very nice elephant in towel). To be improved: The bathrooms are outdated and need to be refurbished.

We had a fantastic holiday at Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon. The hotel exceeded our expectations, and everything from the hospitality to the facilities was excellent. The food was outstanding, with a great variety and exceptional quality throughout our stay. As we were celebrating our honeymoon, we were delighted to find our room beautifully decorated. A special thank you to Mr. Tharanga for the wonderful room decoration, which made our stay even more memorable. We would also like to express our appreciation to Mr. Nalaka and Mrs. Renuka from the restaurant team. They provided exceptional service, warmly welcomed us, and ensured that we were well taken care of throughout our stay. Thank you to the entire team for making our honeymoon so special. We truly enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again in the future. Highly recommended!
