Laddu Restaurant

  • Laddu is a traditional Indian sweet made of a mixture of flour, sugar and shortening, shaped into a ball. It is said that laddu was one of Lord Khrisna’s favorite treats. Located right above the lobby, the restaurant offers Asian fusion cuisine and open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Spacious and comfortable, the outlet spreads 24 seats with beautiful art of Lukisan Kamasan from Klungkung at the background.
  • The signature dishes of Megibung (Balinese Risjttafel), Komoh Marlin and Asian Seafood Stew should be on your “Must Try” list this holiday.
  • Laddu Restaurant is open from from 7:00 am until 11:00 pm.

Sunset Pool Bar

  • Sunset Pool Bar is where the guests can experience swimming in the infinity pool amidst the lush jungle and the stunning location with gorgeous landscape of the Ubud tropical valley. The bar offers an intimate ambiance is a perfect spot to lay back for the rest of the day with your favorite cocktails and tapas selection.
  • Sunset Pool Bar also welcome outsider guests with limitation to access only the Pool Bar and Gym in order to keep the privacy and exclusiveness of the guests in house. The Minimum purchase will be issued for all outsider guests at the entrance of the Sankara Suites and Villas. The staff will escort the outsider guests to an assigned space at Sunset Pool Bar.

We stayed at Sankara Suites & Villas as a couple for three nights, including Nyepi, which turned out to be a truly special experience. The hotel handled everything perfectly and made guests feel very comfortable despite the silence day. The property is beautiful, very clean, and well maintained. The space has everything you need, and we especially loved the infinity pool, the small gym, and the food – everything was delicious. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind and helpful, always going the extra mile. Special thanks to Edy and Soma – you made our stay even more memorable. The hotel also arranged transfers and scooters and supported us with basically anything we needed, which made everything very easy. Great value for money, especially for a couple looking for a relaxing and well-organized stay in Ubud. We would definitely come back – thank you for everything!

A very nice place, everyone working there is nice and helpful. The hotel itself is located in a quite secluded place, it has very nice greenery, the surroundings are really beautiful. The rooms are quite guarded but huge with a beautiful view of tropical vegetation. The only negative side is the very old and worn towels, more like rags than hotel towels. I do not recommend counting on a later check-out, my request was rejected even though we were there for 4 days. Just five minutes after 12 p.m. the reception called to vacate the room, which was not professional. Breakfast in the restaurant upstairs was very tasty and the service was fantastic!

Before booking this hotel, I noticed reviews from three months ago mentioning mould issues in some rooms. The hotel replied that improvements would be made, so I decided to trust them. Unfortunately, when we arrived, our room still had multiple areas affected by mould. Even worse, the water from the bathtub had an unpleasant smell. It was very disturbing and unacceptable. That evening, a staff member helped us move to a different room for the night. The next day, we asked if we could continue staying in that room and receive a partial refund, as it was smaller and less expensive than the room we originally booked. At first, the hotel told us there were no available rooms and insisted that we return to the original mouldy room. We refused. The hotel then offered to cancel the remaining two nights of our stay. However, shortly afterwards, we were told that we could book another room directly with the hotel. This was confusing and frustrating. If there were no rooms available, how could another room suddenly become available? Some rooms in this hotel have serious cleanliness and mould problems. More importantly, we felt misled and disrespected throughout the process. Highly not recommended.

This has been a fantastic experience. The staff are incredibly serine and hospitable. The rooms are comfortable and well serviced. Views are spectacular. Food is great and the hotel is close enough to town for shopping. Transfers are easy and affordable.

Beautiful jungle setting and very kind staff, but unfortunately the stay was disappointing. The main issue was cleanliness. Towels were greyish, stained and had a strong bleach smell, which felt very unpleasant and low standard. Curtains were also visibly dirty at the bottom, and overall the room did not feel properly maintained. There was a constant damp, musty smell in the rooms. The bedding, especially the feather pillows, smelled stale and uncomfortable. I was moved to a better room, but the issues were still present. Late check-out for only 2 hours was quoted at 400,000 IDR, which felt unreasonable. What made the difference very clear is that I moved to another hotel in Ubud afterwards for almost half the price — and it was exactly what you expect: fresh scent when entering, white clean towels, fresh-smelling bedding and proper hygiene. Great location and kind staff, but cleanliness and value for money need serious improvement.
