Positano

Positano is an interpretation of its Amalfi Coast namesake serving authentic coastal Italian cuisine in a casual dining atmosphere. Dishes include freshly-caught frutti di mare from the surrounding Caribbean waters, handmade pastas with classic Italian sauces, and handcrafted pizzas from the signature Pizza Bar equipped with its own pizza oven. Sweet treats include the quintessential tiramisu, affogato and zeppole (Italian-style beignets).

With a wide selection of spirits and rums, and a chic terrace overlooking the azure Caribbean sea, Positano is the perfect spot for a sunset aperitivo. Diners can channel the vibe of an Italian piazza with an iconic Aperol Spritz or Lemontini, or embrace the island ambiance with a more tropical tipple – such as Barbados After The Dark – infused with local rum. This was our first visit to Barbados. We’ve traveled extensively in the Caribbean. Barbados is beautiful. We arrived NYE. We were met by the driver arranged by The House. We arrived to see the beautiful last sunset of 2025. Our NYE dinner was savory, gourmet & memorable. The hotel arranged for live music with dancing until 1 am. There were two sets of fireworks over the ocean. Our hotel room was ocean view on 3rd floor. During our stay you could hear the waves and sunrise with the super full moon. The house keeping was twice a day and did an excellent job. The breakfast buffet had a variety of choices ranging throughout our stay from pancakes, french toast, bacon, sausage, veggies, potatoes, fruits, cheeses, smoothies & eggs to order. We had two nights of dinner buffet. One night we ordered room service to our balcony with an additional $20 charge. We enjoyed taking the water taxi to all 3 other Marriott managed hotels. All 4 hotels have beautiful & clean beaches to walk. As others have shared water shoes are a good idea if you want to walk & swim beach. We swam everyday. While we were there the beach was calm, clear and crystal blue. I attended the one yoga class offered while there. It was a nice outside oceanfront yoga practice. The very basic gym for The House is located at Treasure beach. The walk from The House to Treasure beach by road is short and currently the side walk is not always smooth. There is a gas station in between hotels where we purchased sunscreen. What we liked best about The House was that it was adult only, right on a very clean beach, delicious gourmet food, good service (all bartenders very nice & fun) and the option to travel by water taxi to see other parts of Barbados. It was a wonderful & relaxing start to the new year. 🇧🇧

I went here for my honeymoon and was not disappointed. We stayed in an ocean view room and loved every moment! It’s a small resort, which is exactly what we were looking for. Never seemed crowded, and only had one restaurant. We went to the Cliff restaurant nearby one night and actually thought the hotel food was better. They often brought in live music for dinner which was an absolute highlight. I can’t wait to come back for an anniversary!!

Tis is not a 5 star resort.The management and staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. The food that were served was substandard and old and other items were unedible. We were required to carry our heavy luggage white the bellman took the lightweight rolling luggage. We were promised massages on arrival but the hotel reneged and refused to provide any massages during out stay. This property was advertised as a 5 star all-inclusive resort that is exclusive with superb service. Instead we had a 2 star budget experience. At $1,200 a night this was completely. How can Marriott associate its name with such a poorly run property. The management and staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. We were required. to carry our heavy luggage white the bellman took the lightweight rolling luggage. We were promised massages on arrival but the hotel reneged and refused to provide one at all during out stay. Furthermore, upon checkin we were informed about the limited food and services and all the additional charges. To make matters worse there was only one restaurant on site and the food turned out to be mediocre at best with a very limited selection... For example, the sushi served was so old to it was brown instead of pint. this raises serious concerns regarding possible food poisoning. Furthermore, the staff was very and disrespectful. One employee caused a scene by yelling infant of other guest. Their attitude was as if they were the guest and we were employees that serve them. To make matters worse the management was condescending, appathic and uninterested makingno effort to provide a partially tolerable experience. We booked this properly based on reviews which were obviously inaccurate and very misleading. Moreover. since our arrival i see others guest have recently made poor reviews with bas experiences similar to ours. we spent a substantial amount totravel to the hotel as well as the overcharge for the room. I request that you provide compensation for our loss.

I stayed at this hotel for a full week, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. First, the hotel has no real lobby, and from an interior design perspective, it feels unfinished and poorly thought out. There is no welcoming atmosphere at all, which sets a negative tone as soon as you arrive. The front desk staff and security guards were consistently rude, unhelpful, and unfriendly, not only toward me but also toward my boyfriend. Basic requests felt like an inconvenience to them, and there was a clear lack of professionalism, warmth, or customer care. Only two or three staff members during the entire stay showed any kindness or welcoming attitude. The food was very basic and repetitive. While the menu technically changes daily, the options remain extremely limited. Breakfast was especially disappointing—mostly just eggs and bacon every day. As someone who does not eat bacon, my choices were very restricted, with no effort made to accommodate dietary preferences. The rooms were average, but housekeeping was careless. When we requested fresh towels and clean linens, they repeatedly replaced them with the same dirty or stained towels and sheets, even after multiple requests. There was no attention to cleanliness or detail. The air conditioning was ineffective, which made the room very uncomfortable, especially with temperatures around 32°C. Sleeping was difficult due to the heat. All the hotel guests were under 70 years old (no exceptions ) as a young couple where were they felt discomfort like you are in a retire home or a daycare! The hotel is claiming that it’s a luxury hotel back between luxury and this hotel is a long for a distance Overall, this hotel lacks hospitality, proper service standards, and basic comfort. For the price and expectations, the experience was far below acceptable. I would not recommend staying here, and I would not return.

Quiet and comfy boutique hotel in St. James parish. The hotel shares the beach with Sandy Lane a 5 minute drive away. Excellent chef driven all inclusive restaurant located in the “living room”. Staff were great attentive and friendly. Our ocean view room was stunning.
