⭐☆☆☆☆ (1/5) Unfortunately, our stay at Sol by Meliá was very disappointing. There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke in our room from the moment we arrived. I understand that people smoke outside, but I don't expect a hotel room to smell of cigarettes. The air conditioning was also broken on our first day, so after a long, hot flight we had to wait in a warm room while it was being repaired. Finding a sunbed by the pool was almost impossible. If you were lucky, you might get a chair. It felt like we were spectators watching everyone else enjoy their holiday instead of relaxing and enjoying our own. The room felt very dated, and the breakfast was disappointing. The selection was limited, the food lacked flavour, and the breakfast area felt uninviting and did little to make you look forward to the start of the day. In our opinion, this hotel is much better suited to people looking for nightlife and parties than families seeking a relaxing holiday. The staff were polite, friendly, and always did their best to help us, which we truly appreciated. Unfortunately, despite the good location and the excellent staff, the overall experience did not meet our expectations, and we would not choose to stay here again.

The hotel has some positives, but unfortunately the constant noise completely overshadowed our stay The rooms were a good size and housekeeping did an excellent job, cleaning daily and refreshing towels without needing to be asked. The catering staff were always prompt, friendly and approachable, and there was a wide selection of food available at the buffet, although the quality could be a bit hit and miss depending on the day The entertainment team, particularly Daniel, were fantastic. They were friendly, enthusiastic and really encouraged guests to get involved. There was a great variety of activities on offer including stretching, yoga, Pilates and water biking. The hotel is also in a great location, close to bars, shops and the beach, with lovely views from the balconies. The all-inclusive drinks were another highlight, with a great cocktail selection and no restrictions, and importantly the alcohol certainly wasn’t watered down However, the biggest issue by far was the noise. This hotel is clearly aimed at younger groups looking to party, and throughout our stay it was full of young lads and girls who were often loud, rude and showed very little consideration for other guests. There seemed to be no respect for people trying to sleep Music from the surrounding bars continued until around 4:30am every single night, and the hotel itself has virtually no soundproofing. Even with foam earplugs (which reception provides if you ask), we could still hear loud music, shouting, people returning to their rooms and noise from around the hotel throughout the night. Staff appeared largely unconcerned about noise disturbances and made little effort to address any of the disruptive behaviour Other downsides included a lack of sunbeds, meaning guests had to reserve them very early in the morning by putting towels down. Security staff were disappointing and not particularly helpful. Also, there was only one plug socket in the room, so definitely bring an extension lead if you want to charge devices beside the bed Overall, if you’re looking for lively nightlife and don’t mind very little sleep, this hotel may suit you. We had a fantastic stay at Sol Tenerife and wanted to leave a review after seeing so many negative ones, as our experience was completely different. The staff were amazing from start to finish—friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. The food was incredible, with plenty of choice for all the family and something to suit everyone’s individual tastes. The hotel was clean, the atmosphere was great, and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and would definitely recommend it to anyone considering booking. Don’t let some of the negative reviews put you off—we had a wonderful time!

For our first trip to Tenerife, we chose Sol Tenerife because we always stay with this brand when travelling to Spain, and it did not disappoint. We spent one week there and had a wonderful holiday. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming, and spoke English, which made everything easy. We rented a car and never had any problems finding parking, either outside the hotel or on the nearby streets. Our room was very nice and always kept spotlessly clean. The restaurant was excellent, with plenty of choice for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so there was always something for everyone. The Kids Club was fantastic. Our daughter is still talking about Raul, Noemi, and Daniel! They were so engaging, caring, and did a great job keeping all the children entertained and happy throughout our stay. We had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back. Thank you to everyone at Sol Tenerife for making our first visit to Tenerife so memorable!

We had a great time and have re booked for next year for NYE. Great location, lovely staff, we had a great time at NYE. Breakfast was perfect for us so then we could explore in the car we rented. Rooms were clean but would like to see the outdoor furniture cleaner and the patio. It is a very noisy area at night but we put on our headphones and we were fine. See you next year!
