We stayed at SALT for six nights, and our experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, attentive, and always willing to share stories and insights about Mauritius, which made our stay feel even more authentic. One of the highlights of our trip was the cooking class with Chef Shiva and his team. We were also treated to delicious Mauritian fried noodles by “Sweet Mommie” (a nickname we happily gave her!), and they were absolutely amazing. During the class, Chef Shiva taught us how to prepare Chicken Briani the traditional Mauritian way—just as a Mauritian grandmother would make it. The team at the Boathouse were equally fantastic. They helped us arrange additional water sports activities beyond the complimentary options offered by the hotel and also took us on the fish-feeding excursion, which was included in our package. I would highly recommend the Full Board package, as there are not many dining options within walking distance of the hotel. Having all meals included made our stay much more convenient and enjoyable. Another memorable experience was learning how to make a fizz bomb with Pushpa, which was both fun and unique. Overall, SALT made our first visit to Mauritius truly unforgettable. The warmth of the people, the incredible experiences, and the genuine hospitality ensured that we left with wonderful memories and a deep appreciation for both the hotel and the island. Highly recommended!

Had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The food was exquisite, and the Mauritian menu was a delightful surprise. The dishes were beautifully reimagined with a modern twist, you would hardly believe they were inspired by traditional Mauritian cuisine. The creativity, presentation, and flavors were exceptional. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. A special thank you to Dheeraj, Mr Rewa and Chef Moonien for their outstanding hospitality and dedication. Their passion and attention to detail truly made the experience memorable. I would highly recommend Salt of Palmar to anyone looking for a unique and relaxing getaway with exceptional food and service.

I recently spent a night at SALT of Palmar with a group of friends and had an exceptional experience. The service was outstanding throughout our stay, and I would especially like to thank Mr. Dheeraj, Mr. Gool, Mr. Dharam, and Mr. Rewa for their attentiveness, and warm hospitality. The culinary experience was equally impressive. Every dish prepared by Chef Moonien was beautifully presented and exceptionally delicious. His interpretation of Mauritian cuisine was both unique and innovative. What truly sets this hotel apart is its ability to elevate the Mauritian experience through thoughtful attention to detail, authentic hospitality, and a refined approach to local cuisine. Overall, it was a memorable stay.

We had a really great stay at SALT of Palmar. The room itself was beautiful, with a clean, thoughtful design that immediately felt comfortable. What stood out most, though, was the level of personal service. After just a day or two, the staff knew our names and what we liked, especially at breakfast. It never felt forced – more like they were genuinely interested in making our stay enjoyable. Breakfast itself was excellent, easily one of the highlights for us. The beach is stunning and definitely adds to the overall experience. The only thing to keep in mind is that the hotel is in a quieter area. For us, that was actually nice, but it does mean you’ll want a car if you plan to explore the island – which, honestly, you probably should do anyway when visiting Mauritius. Overall, a very relaxed and personal place to stay.

We hosted a bachelorette at Salt of Palmar and had a blast!! The whole hotel is a vibe with cosy corners, chill areas and great pool. We got upgraded to a sea-view rooms which just added another dimension to the experience. However, the most amazing aspect of the whole experience was the food and service!! Chef Moonien is an oustanding chef. We were very pleasantly surprised by his take on Mauritian food. We relished the fish and appreciated all the fresh and quality ingredients he used in his well-thought and definitely well-executed menu. The personnel was the true essence of Mauritian hospitality. Rewa, Dharam, Dhiraj and Dool left no stone unturned in attending to us. Their always smiling faces just made our stay even more memorable. We recommend a 100% and we are definitely coming back!
