Just completed a fantastic week at the Reef Oasis. We went for the direct access to the sea for snorkeling and were not let down. Amazing variety of fish direct from the hotel. The hotel is very well laid out with Palm trees, various cacti and beautiful bougainvillea. Thank you ground staff. The attitude and professionalism of all staff is truly outstanding. A special shout out to Ibrahim for looking after our room, Mohamad the perpetually positive and happy bus driver, the woman who greeted us every evening at La Giconda restaurant (sorry we don’t know your name), and the member of staff who served coffee at Citadel in the morning and worked at La Giconda in the evening; the one with the lovely smile!! Thank you all for a wonderful week. Oh! And the food was really yummy!!

We stayed at Reef Oasis Beach Resort for two weeks. The sea is absolutely stunning, with crystal clear water and a beautiful reef. perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The resort has a lively atmosphere, more suitable for younger guests, with sometimes loud music at the beach. Most of the hotel staff were friendly and helpful, which we appreciated. This was our second stay. The first visit was excellent, but during this stay, especially towards the end of the holiday period, we had some unpleasant experiences with beach bar staff. After we politely asked a child to stop chasing a pigeon, we were spoken to rudely. In the days following, we were ignored when ordering drinks, and there was obvious laughing and talking about us behind the bar, which created a very uncomfortable atmosphere. The buffet restaurants can be very crowded at peak times. Some guests behaved quite chaotically, which is not the hotel’s fault, but it did affect the experience. We also noticed significant food waste, with many guests overfilling plates and leaving large amounts of food behind, which was disappointing to see. Another area for improvement is the beach bar system. Drinks are served in very small disposable cups, and food is provided on single-use plates with very small portions, leading to frequent returns and a large amount of waste. A more eco-friendly solution (reusable cups or refill systems) would greatly improve the beach experience. Overall, a beautiful resort with an amazing location, but with some clear areas for improvement.

The highlight of my stay was definitely the animation team. They made every single day feel like a celebration. The beach games were so much fun, and the night entertainment was beyond my expectations. Their teamwork and coordination were impressive.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ First time in Egypt — and honestly, wow. Where do I start? I’ll admit, I wasn’t totally sold on coming to Egypt at first. You hear all sorts of horror stories — safety worries, “don’t leave the resort,” dodgy tummies, you name it. But… this trip completely flipped that on its head. We booked through a private travel agent who recommended Ocean Reef Hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, so we came in with pretty open expectations — and ended up having one of the best holidays we’ve ever had. Let’s start with the staff and service. Absolutely phenomenal. I’m talking next-level, remember-your-name, treat-you-like-family kind of service. I’d actually put it above some of the five-star resorts we’ve been to in Mexico and even our honeymoon in Barbados. Everyone from the restaurant team to the lifeguards were friendly, polite, and genuinely cared that we were having a great time. The restaurant staff? 10/10. Drinks ready before you’ve even asked. Plates cleared with a smile. Always making sure you’re looked after (and yes, we tipped daily — but they earned every cent). Even the pool and towel staff went the extra mile — setting up beds, bringing fresh towels, surprising us with drinks we hadn’t even ordered. Little touches that made a huge difference. The cleanliness deserves its own shoutout. The place is spotless. You’ll actually see gardeners out there hand-trimming bushes and sweeping paths like they’re prepping for a royal visit. The attention to detail is unreal, especially considering the price — literally a quarter of what we’ve paid elsewhere. And then the food… wow. We’ve stayed in plenty of 4★ and 5★ hotels in Europe, but this blew most of them away. Massive variety, always fresh, plenty of choice — pasta, rice, grilled meats, salads, themed nights — it just kept coming. Maybe not quite Mexico-level gourmet (that’s a hard bar to beat), but for the price? Incredible. All in all, Ocean Reef turned out to be pure paradise — without the ten-hour flight or the five-grand price tag. We came here nervous and left already planning when to come back.

Demolition work and wall breaking from 8 AM to 4 PM – neither the agency nor the hotel warned us about any renovation or construction works. There was nothing like this during the first two days. Our group of 10 people got the absolute worst room: cracked walls, moldy ceilings, and balcony doors that don’t close properly. We refused to change rooms because there are 10 of us and we wanted to stay together. Unfortunately, the beach area is extremely crowded – people packed on top of people – and the rooms are full of noise and mold. It’s the same situation by the pool. We visit Egypt 2–3 times a year, but right now… we just want to go home. Only the worst memories remain. For €1000 per person, this is a huge disappointment.
