The staff was very professional, efficient, and helpful. Almost every member of the staff was able to communicate in several languages, especially english and italian. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The high-quality buffet was incredibly rich and able to satisfy different tastes. We appreciated the animation inside the resort, which was very discreet and not too pushy. A special mention to Marika and Francesca from Azemar for their professionalism. A couple of notes for improvement: The pictures shown on the website are four years old, as confirmed by some staff memebers, and do not show that the beach is overcrowded by locals, therefore privacy is limited. Also, in recent weeks Tanzanian government set inflatables for kids right in front of the hotel's beach, forcing customers to swim elsewhere.

🌴 A True Golden Paradise — Our 50th Wedding Celebration 🌴 We stayed at Gold Zanzibar Beach House & Spa to celebrate our upcoming Golden Wedding Anniversary, and it was one of the most beautiful experiences of our lives. Everything about this place is pure perfection — a wide white-sand beach, crystal-clear water, and an impeccably maintained resort. The staff are warm, kind, and attentive, always nearby but never intrusive. The food is exceptional, fresh, and full of flavor, and drinks are served wherever you wish — by the pool, on the beach, or right on your villa terrace. When the hotel management learned that we had booked a seaside dinner to celebrate our 50 years together, they surprised us with an unforgettable gift — an upgrade to the best villa in the resort, located right on the oceanfront with a private pool. During dinner, the restaurant team sang and brought us a beautiful anniversary cake, made especially for us. It was an incredibly emotional and joyful moment that we will never forget. We also felt completely safe and cared for, even during the post-election period when there were some concerns in the media. The hotel’s security and professionalism made us feel perfectly protected and relaxed at all times. We have traveled a lot around the world, but nowhere else have we experienced such genuine hospitality, generosity, and warmth. My wife and I stayed at Gold Zanzibar at the end of October as part of our honeymoon, and it was absolutely superb. The room was comfortable and spacious, the food was excellent and the activities were fun. We arranged two separate massages which were both incredibly relaxing. On top of this, we arranged an excursion to go snorkelling off Mnemba Island which was superb. I would like to credit some staff in particular who were absolutely wonderful: Shamim looked after us for our honeymoon dinner and several lunches, and took great care to look after us with great service on all occasions. Hussein and Issa were both brilliant in helping us with arranging whatever we needed. Mwinyi was wonderfully helpful in providing us with different options for excursions and arranged the Mnemba island trip for us.

Excellent service and an outstanding response from Francesca – thank you for saving our honeymoon! 🌺 We visited Zanzibar as the last stop of our honeymoon after an incredible safari adventure through Africa. For our final days, we chose the Gold Zanzibar because we were looking for a beautiful, intimate place to relax and unwind completely. While the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful — with stunning facilities and one of the most spectacular beaches we’ve ever seen — we soon realized that the atmosphere was a bit livelier than what we were looking for at this stage of our trip. It’s a fantastic resort, but perhaps more suited to those looking for a social and animated environment rather than total privacy. When we mentioned this to the hotel staff, they reacted with such professionalism, kindness, and speed that we were truly impressed. In particular, we want to express our deepest gratitude to Francesca, the relationship manager, who went above and beyond to make sure our experience was perfect. Francesca immediately understood our situation, spoke with us in our own language, and personally took care of every detail. Within just a couple of hours, she had arranged an amazing alternative for us in another property from the same group — a place that suited exactly what we were looking for. Her empathy, efficiency, and genuine care completely turned things around for us and made the end of our honeymoon absolutely wonderful.
