I had a cancellation issue with my booking and was honestly unsure of what to do, but the team at Lux Marijani were incredibly helpful and understanding. I had the pleasure of speaking with the wonderful Rooma on the phone, and she was absolutely fantastic. She took the time to listen, understand the situation and help me in every way she could. Her kindness, professionalism and willingness to help really stood out and made what could have been a stressful situation so much easier. It was clear that the team genuinely cared about helping their guests. I’m extremely grateful for the support I received and it has made me even more excited about staying at Lux Marijani. From the excellent customer service to the warm and welcoming approach, everything has been fantastic so far. A special thank you to Rooma for being so wonderful and helpful. She is a real credit to the hotel! I would definitely recommend Lux Marijani to anyone looking for a beautiful stay with exceptional hospitality. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had mixed feelings about my stay at LUX Marijani. There are definitely some lovely aspects to the hotel, and for most of my stay I thought the staff were fantastic — warm, friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming. However, for a hotel positioned at this level, some of the facilities were disappointing. The gym is very small with limited equipment, and the pool is also quite small and feels dated compared with the rest of the property. The buffet was probably one of the biggest let-downs for me. I found the food quite repetitive and uninspiring, and after a few days it became boring. I would have expected much more variety and quality from a resort of this standard. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment came when I was leaving. As soon as it became apparent that I was checking out, the behaviour of some staff noticeably changed. There was a lot of lingering around while I was preparing to leave and it became uncomfortably obvious that a tip was being expected. I am more than happy to tip when someone has provided great service, but I don’t like feeling pressured into doing so. It actually made me question some of the wonderful service I’d experienced beforehand, because what had initially felt warm and genuine suddenly felt transactional. It’s a shame because there is a lot to like about LUX Marijani and I did have some genuinely lovely interactions with members of staff. With improvements to the buffet, gym and pool area — and a more discreet approach to tipping — the overall experience could be considerably better.

The hotel is beautifully welcoming, and the staff is incredibly attentive. We want to give a special thank you to the team for giving us our room right away when we arrived very early in the morning—it made a world of difference after our journey. The food throughout our stay was also great. Highly recommended!

5/5 Experience in Zanzibar! Our 3-night honeymoon at Lux Marijani was absolutely unforgettable. The property is stunning, but what truly sets this place apart is the incredible team who made every moment feel special. Grace & Anne (and all the team) at the front desk were so kind and thoughtful, surprising us with little touches that made us feel celebrated throughout our stay. Godlisten at the bar brought great energy, delicious cocktails, and made watching the match so much fun. Abu & Abdul gave us an amazing time with water activities, while Clementina made every morning brighter with her warm smile and excellent service. The spa experience with Lilian, Eliza, and Judith was pure bliss—highly professional and deeply relaxing. We also appreciated the resort manager taking the time to personally check in on us, what a great leader she is! Everything about our stay felt personal, warm, and memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better honeymoon destination and would highly recommend Lux Marijani for any special occasion. We can’t wait to return!
