Thank you for a nice holiday. Overall we were satisfied, the rooms were nice and clean, with a sea view. The hotel does not have its own beach, (we didn't mind that :-) the public beach is about 50 meters from the hotel. The hotel provides free transport to the more beautiful beach of Flic and Flack :-) about 15 minutes by car. The hotel has beautiful pools and a pool on the roof of the hotel with a view of the sea and the highest mountain in Mauritius and with a bar :-). All the staff were very friendly. The hotel has a beautiful garden, overall it is such an exotic complex, well maintained. The breakfasts were good - everything you need. The hotel is well located for trips - sea trips, kayaking on the river and more, which was very important to us. We can recommend :-) But we also have some complaints : :-( The buffet dinners were weaker. The service at the bar next to the restaurant was slower and sometimes quite chaotic (but the staff was very nice). What annoyed me the most was that they didn't have half of the items on offer at the bar, the first few days they had large beer glasses, the next few days they didn't, that was interesting. Another thing to watch out for is the loud music from the beach, especially on weekends, until about 00:00 p.m. it was played really loudly, it was impossible to sleep. Overall I can recommend the hotel, the price/performance ratio is good :-)

What a stunning hotel. Small, intimate and ideal for the travellers wanting a great place to relax yet close enough to go out and explore everything Mauritius has to offer. The rooms offer grass beach mats and a cooler box which you can use to head down to the beach (which is across the road) or for a day out exploring. Shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs are all within walking distance. The rooms are comfortable offering a separate toilet and large shower and hand basin. Plenty of cupboards, a safe, mini bar fridge and coffee/tea making facilities. There are 2 swimming pools, 2 restaurants and 2 bars. The one pool and bar is reserved for adults only and has a great view over Tamarin Beach and the best spot for sundowners. Highly recommended.

It was a fabulous stay! The room was lovely and always cleaned early in the morning. Fresh beach towels daily and beach matts at the room too. Portable cool box for you to use for the day outs available at the room. The small fridge at the room was very powerfull and so was the air conditioning. The hotel pools are great and the location just opposite the beach fantastic! Breakfast buffet was good and the Crazy fish restaurant real good. The staff were super friendly and helpfull. This hotel could easily be a 4 star rather than a 3. Thank you all at the hotel! We would love to come back sometime.

I recently stayed for two nights at Veranda Tamarin and overall had a good experience. The atmosphere of the hotel is very relaxing and perfect for a short getaway. The room was clean, cosy, and comfortable, which made our stay enjoyable and stress-free. The staff truly stood out.. everyone was welcoming, polite, and always ready to help. Their positive attitude really made a difference and made us feel valued as guests. However, I do feel that the food quality, especially at dinner, could be improved. Compared to previous expectations, it was not as impressive as it could have been. With some improvement in the dining experience, the hotel would easily offer an excellent overall stay. Still, we had a nice time and appreciate the efforts of the team. Looking forward to seeing improvements in the future.

Felt Discriminatory Treatment as a Mauritian Guest - No Response from Management. I recently stayed there for 3 nights beginning on 12 May 2026, and unfortunately, this turned out to be a very disappointing hotel experience, particularly regarding the treatment received from the F&B team during dinner and breakfast services. From my very first evening, the experience was troubling. Upon arriving for dinner at around 8:30 pm, I was neither welcomed nor shown to a table. As a solo guest, I had to walk around and seat myself without any staff member acknowledging my arrival, asking for my room number, or offering any assistance. Throughout the evening, I was not approached to take a drink order, or even check whether I needed anything. What made the situation particularly upsetting was the visible contrast in treatment. Guests around me, especially foreign guests, were receiving attentive and regular service, including drink orders, assistance to their tables, and frequent staff interaction, while my table remained largely unattended. On my first evening, the only interaction I had was a bottle of water being placed on my table. Unfortunately, this pattern continued during breakfast service the following morning, where I again noticed a clear difference in the level of attentiveness shown to me compared to other guests. The experience became so uncomfortable that despite being booked on a half-board basis, I chose to skip dinner entirely on my second evening because I simply did not wish to go through the same situation again. On my final evening, I decided to give the restaurant another chance, hoping things might improve. Regrettably, the same issues remained. While other guests were welcomed and assisted to their tables, I once again had to find seating myself. My table had no flatware, requiring me to actively seek assistance. Water was only served after some time, and it took approximately 30 minutes before a staff member approached me to ask for my room number. Over the course of my stay, the repeated difference in treatment became difficult to ignore and genuinely left me feeling uncomfortable, marginalised, and unwelcome. As a Mauritian guest, I unfortunately came away with the impression that I was receiving significantly less attention than foreign guests around me. I sincerely hope this was not intentional, but after experiencing the same situation repeatedly, it was difficult not to feel discriminated against. What is even more disappointing is that before posting this review publicly, I chose to address the matter directly and professionally by sending a formal email to the hotel’s General Manager, giving management an opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue privately. Unfortunately, the matter did not appear to be treated with importance, as I did not receive any meaningful follow-up or attempt to contact me regarding a resolution. Hospitality should be based on equal treatment, attentiveness, and respect for all guests, regardless of nationality. Sadly, this was not my experience here.
