My family and I had the most wonderful stay over the Christmas period, which also doubled as an early birthday trip for me. We were exceptionally well looked after by all the staff, and the hotel property itself is absolutely stunning. I would highly recommend paying a little extra for an Executive Club room to enjoy the added benefits and the fabulous service from Jeffrey and the rest of the team. We also loved the lobby bar — I had the best espresso martini of my life, expertly made by Victor, and Arnes serves an excellent spicy margarita too! Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel. It’s very family-friendly, offers a great breakfast buffet selection, and we can’t wait to return.

From the minute of walking through the door of this wonderful hotel we knew that we were in for an incredible Christmas. Our rooms, on the 7th floor, were scrupulously clean and very well maintained. Every morning at breakfast we were greeted as though we were family, and shown to a nice quiet area. We were spoiled by the on-site dinning experience (some were seasonal and therefore not open), the quality and selection represented outstanding value, and again the service in all locations was exemplary. we enjoyed the experience for lunch, snacks, and dinner from the entire team in the ORVM Lounge, the food and staff at Palio were just the most fun, and a special call-out to Harish, the sommelier at Quadro where we enjoyed a dinner easily matching that of some Michelin Star restaurants that we frequent at home. The entire experience provided by ALL staff at this hotel was simply outstanding and helped us create wonderful memories and a new beginning for '26. Thank-you to everyone.

This is a beautiful hotel, perfectly located in the St Julian's area filled with great shops and restaurants. The rooms are spotless, stylish, and very tastefully decorated. We stayed on the 7th floor (the hotel has eight floors in total) with a lovely sea view, which really enhanced the experience. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. The small touches—like the teddy waiting in the room for my son and the evening check-in from room service to see if we needed anything—really added to the hotel’s 5-star feel. Breakfast offered a good selection and everything was clean and well presented. Fresh eggs, waffles, and pancakes were also available, which was a great bonus. The hotel facilities include both an indoor and outdoor pool, a gym, and a jacuzzi, all of which contributed to a very enjoyable stay. Nothing felt like too much trouble during our visit. The only point of feedback would be the initial €700 deposit, which is significantly higher than anywhere else I’ve stayed. It was quite a shock at check-in, so it’s something worth being aware of. Overall, we had an amazing stay. Visiting in December meant the hotel was pleasantly quiet—just how we like it. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily return.

I recently stayed at the Westin Dragonara in Malta and had a mixed experience. The hotel itself is beautiful and offers true 5-star amenities. The property is well maintained, the breakfast buffet was very nice with a good variety, and the location is excellent—close to nightlife, restaurants, and entertainment. Having the casino right next door is also a plus for those who enjoy that. However, the biggest downside was the lack of individual air conditioning control. The hotel operates on a central system that switches between heat or AC depending on the season. During our stay, it was warm during the day, but AC was not available. We were advised to open the balcony doors for ventilation, which was not a realistic solution due to constant noise from children screaming at the pool below noted the entire day. This made it very difficult to sleep comfortably or even feel like the room was breathable. We were later told that only luxury suites have proper air conditioning control, which is disappointing for a hotel of this caliber. Overall, while the hotel delivers on amenities, location, and service, I would rate it closer to a 4-star experience due to the inability to sleep comfortably and the lack of climate control in standard rooms. If you’re sensitive to noise or heat, I strongly recommend booking a luxury suite—or considering another property.

The staff in particular are so pleasant, helpful, and efficient, in all areas they created the right atmosphere. The half board option worked well for us and the food quality was often remarkable. Rooms, both garden and sea view, were very comfortable, clean and spacious. My elderly parents loved the hotel and the high quality 13m indoor pool/sauna/steam/jacuzzi. We also found the gym excellent and extensive such that it attracts members, it was really nice to have locals there who would demo unfamiliar equipment etc - the Maltese people really are so positive and nice to be around. December weather was brilliant and the hotel had a nice festive atmosphere, there was no out of season feel to it. Would definitely recommend and we may well return. The location of the hotel is highly convenient - 100 metres from the heart of things, but very quiet due to how the area is constructed. Also very quick to get into Valletta, and the ubiquitous Bolt taxis mean that nothing is ever far or a pain to get to. For the winter season this location makes sense as there is a lot to do whatever the weather.
