We recently returned from our vacation and had a wonderful experience. The restaurants and the location are excellent, offering everything needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The cleanliness throughout the resort was maintained to a very high standard, and the private beach is absolutely fantastic. If I had the opportunity to choose again, I would definitely opt for a Sea View room, as the views are truly worth it. Thank you, Radisson, for the beautiful memories and for making our holiday so special. We look forward to returning in the future! — Vadim and Family

Everything in this hotel was perfect. Where to start? Maybe Henri, the most lovely man I’ve met in customer service. He makes you feel welcomed and has so much charisma. View from the pool area is amazing and the beach is just some steps down, where there’s a private area only for guests. Food is in another level, they really know what they’re doing, every single dish was delicious, from the restaurants or room service. Totally comfortable beds and rooms. Cleanliness is excellent. Service from all the staff is superb, everyone is very attentive and always ready to help with a smile. Highly recommended if you wanna spend some days relaxed in company with your family.

I have just returned from another holiday at this hotel with my daughter. This was my fourth visit. We both love going to Golden Sands. The staff go out of their way to make sure that we enjoy our visit and are very welcoming. We like the position of the hotel which is more rural than most but it is still very easy to get to many places around the island. Our suite which we requested was certainly the best one we have had so far and, although not available on the first night which we quite understood, we were moved to the following morning. We really appreciated this gesture and made sure that the reception staff knew how thrilled we were with our accommodation. The views were perfect and the space in the rooms were exceptional. We could not have asked for more.

Bottom line: This is not a 5-star establishment, as there are too many items that fall short of expectations. Good things: - very nicely kept reception and communal areas - very wide selection at breakfast in the restaurant - Nice views from the sea view rooms - The majority of the staff are very friendly, although some of them look flustered and overworked. Inconsistent / so-so things: - rooms and corridors are overdue refurbishment. Scuffs, previous paint repairs, stained carpets and so on. This is in contrast with the reception area as previously mentioned. Our balcony light was full of dead flies and the bulb was pretty much out. Little touches like this are important. - the hotel is an absolute maze when you are first there, and it took us a very long time to find the spa / pool area for the first time. - housekeeping is inconsistent. Some days we got the correct number of towels, some days we didn't. One day our bin wasn't emptied, nor were the cups or glasses replaced. But they made the bed up. Very strange. - the spa / pool area especially the changing rooms are starting to become tired and neglected. Water pooling in the changing room floor, shower areas clearly not being cleaned regularly, and missing fixings on things like lockers, or missing hooks in shower cubicles etc. Not a five star experience. The pool area itself was generally quite clean however. Bad things: - we felt we were constantly having to find things ourselves / ask for things at breakfast that should already be present, or being picked up by the staff. I lost count of the number of times there was no spoon present on a place setting - this is absolutely basic for any catering establishment. Same goes for things like coffee machines being allowed to run out of beans. Not a massive deal, but indicates a chaotic and badly managed restaurant, and this was in low season. - the spa / pool area seems to be deserted of any staff from afternoon onwards. In the male changing room, the hourly cleaning sheet had not been signed since 1pm, when I had used it at around 9pm. Sometimes the dirty towel trolley was stacked full, with no clean towels available. Why would we want to risk paying for any treatments if this is the level of service experienced in the first instance? - the bedding and pillows feel like they haven't been updated in a very long time. Overly soft and sinking mattress and pillows that have no support. Overall, I can't recommend this property to anyone, nor are we likely to return, as it simply doesn't deliver the experience expected from a hotel of this calibre.

We had an excellent family 5-night stay here just before Easter. Friendly and helpful staff. The food was fantastic. The room was also fantastic and spacious. Although the location is a bit remote, it is easy to visit anywhere using the public transport - although I don't know how busy the buses would be in peak season. There is a private beach at the hotel, but it could do with a bit of a clean-up in places. There is also a public beach five minutes away, which is very nice. The kids loved the indoor pool when the weather was not great for going outdoors. We really felt looked after at this resort and would stay here again if we return to Malta. One improvement that has just occurred to me - it would be good if the resort became an official seller of public transport passes so that they could be bought at the concierge desk. For our short visit however we just paid individually by card for each journey - it was only £1.74 each, and the ticket is valid for two hours so can be used on multiple journeys in that window. So the passes would not have been worth it for us.
