We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The property offers a beautiful and peaceful setting, perfect for a relaxing getaway. What truly sets The ShellSea apart is the quality of the service. The staff is absolutely lovely—highly professional, yet warm and consistently attentive to every detail. They truly made us feel welcome throughout our entire visit. The facilities are impeccable, and the overall atmosphere is very serene. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for top-tier service in a stunning location.

This was the most disappointing experience we had traveling in our lives. To start with, the photos on the website are there to scam customers because the reality is far from a 5 star ‘luxury’ experience. When you enter the lobby, there is a strong toilet smell. Moving on to the room, the towels provided are old and have stains, there is a moisture smell, everything is old and outdated, the slippers provided are pre used (not one use only). There is not even hair conditioner in the bathroom, only small bottles of shower gel and shampoo. When we went to the pool, the pool staff does not bring the towels, you have to set up your own sunbed and move it yourself, the pool area is not attended throughout the day ie there is no water or any drinks service provided. ‘Aqua yoga’ exercise was provided by pool staff who did not have any sort of qualifications and mocked the guests throughout. On the beach, there are no sunbeds or service, you swim at your own risk bringing your own towel etc. Breakfast was inedible with fruit flies all over the food. Bonus point is cockroaches at night all across the resort which again proves the cleanliness. This place is a rip off, we stayed for our honeymoon and paid more than the 5 star luxury experiences we had in Europe. Not even a ‘Happy honeymoon’ note let alone any sort of perks. Please do not book this based on the fake photos they have on their website as the place and the service is not even close to 5 star.

The service attitude was good, they are very helpful and always smiling , makes you feel very welcoming. but probably deal to the English problem. Time to time we have some misunderstanding between. But overall is okay. The whole team spirit is good for the hotel management team. The room is good , cleaning is alright. I like the dining area, it’s very nice place

Our experience at The Shellsea Krabi was overall average. First and foremost, the hotel feels outdated and is in clear need of renovation and modernization in order to meet current hospitality standards. Notable drawbacks: On the first day, we found a stain on the bed sheet. To the hotel’s credit, it was replaced promptly. On arrival, the sofa on the balcony was completely wet, which affected the initial impression of the room. On two separate occasions, we found a hair in the breakfast area, which was disappointing and raised concerns regarding hygiene standards. In the shower, there was a persistent unpleasant odor, similar to ammonia, possibly originating from the drainage or sewage system. Positive aspects: The hotel is located on a relatively good beachfront plot. The property offers two swimming pools, one of which is designated for adults only. The service level is good, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The hotel provides regular shuttle services to Ao Nang town every two hours, which is convenient for guests. In conclusion, this did not feel like a true five-star experience by Thai standards, which we are familiar with. Overall, the property aligns more closely with a four-star level.

We stayed four nights in a Garden View Room. The resort itself is lovely and beautifully located, but there are a few things that could be improved before it truly feels like a 5-star experience. At the adults-only pool, there was no menu or service available for drinks and snacks, which would have been nice to have. The TV in the room only offered standard channels — it would be great if it supported internet access to watch YouTube, Netflix, or online TV. We had a rental car and chose to have breakfast outside the resort, so we can’t comment on the breakfast options. Mosquito nets on the balcony doors are missing, so it wasn’t possible to keep the doors open for fresh air. Noise from the corridor, especially when cleaning staff passed by, was quite noticeable — perhaps some better sound insulation or other roomdoor could help, as our sleep was often disturbed. On the positive side, all the staff were extremely friendly and always greeted us with a smile. The resort offers a wide variety of activities, which is definitely a plus. We didn’t try the spa, as the prices seemed quite high compared to what you can find in the city. Overall, it’s a nice resort with great potential — a few adjustments could make it a true 5-star experience.
